Madeleine McCann And The Dawn Of Creationism
MADDIE WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann, Kate McCann and Gerry McCann
In the beginning was the word. And the word was “Maddie”…
THE INDEPENDENT: “Religion vs science: can the divide between God and rationality be reconciled?”
And on the eighth day the media was created and Our Maddie did come to the fore…
‘A clergyman in charge of education for the country’s leading scientific organisation – it’s a Monty Python sketch,” pronounced Britain’s top atheist, Richard Dawkins, recently. The problem was that Reiss, as well as being an evolutionary biologist and population geneticist, is a non-stipendiary priest in the Church of England.
Still dunno.
The danger is that between the strident secularists and the fanatical fundamentalists some important middle ground is being squeezed out. “Dawkins sees religion as credulous, superstitious and prejudiced but mature religious traditions teach people to challenge all that,” says Tina Beattie.
Dawkinzzzz…
“Science will never offer an answer to the parents of Madeleine McCann. Nor will it ever be irrational to go to a Mozart concert, though science can never explain the genius of his music.”
Mozart. McCann. Maddie. DNA. Science. Creationism. Maddie. Do you understand now..?

No,I am not cross cos you are the first poster on the new thread
I am cross because we cant speak freely….it does not sink in,I am afraid,-agw
It makes me feel really sad because I love to be here but I feel I am gagged and it is unlike me to accept it.I must really like being on anorak then, believe me…..xxx
-agw: Jo you are not gagged. We have no wish to suppress your right to freedom of speech. It is a fact that sometimes you stray into areas which are dangerous for you and for us. Other sites face exactly the same risks but lack professional legal or journalistic background staff to recognise those dangers. We welcome and enjoy your contribution and presence here. Without going into precise details there is one fact you should bear in mind. By far the greatest media for the communication of ideas is the English language. Goncalo Amaral’s book has been (or is being) translated and published into every major European language… but not English. Why do you think that is?
Be careful how you answer…and that is the problem

Maddie: Documentary for TV
Paulo Marcelino
10 October 2008 - 00h30
The book ‘Maddie - The Truth of Lie’ is the starting point for a documentary that
is being filmed in the Algarve over the next 20 days. Goncalo Amaral, coordinator
of the PJ in the process and author of the book, is not the only character to appear
in the TV production.
The documentary will be produced by Manuel Fonseca, of Valentine de Carvalho,
and most of the filming will take place in Portimão and in Praia da Luz, where Madeleine McCann disappeared from on May 3, 2007. “First we will work and then make statements. The formal announcement will be at another time,” said Manuel Fonseca to CM, producer of films such as ‘Koko’ and ‘The Private Life of Salazar’.
Goncalo Amaral coordinated the first five months of the investigation, until he was removed from one of the most media focussed cases ever. The inquiry eventually ended, this summer, at which time the former coordinator published his book, a pioneering work of police revelation that has sold about 200 thousand copies in Portugal. It has been on sale since September in Spain and will soon be published in Denmark, Sweden and Norway. “Everyone likes to see their work valued,” said Goncalo Amaral, about the purpose of the documentary.

Is a book which is published in French, Spanish, Portuguese or any other
language bar English, which may contain wording about someone, which that
someone might consider to be defamatory, not liable for consideration for libel ?
I would think that wordings considered to be defamatory by that someone,
would still be defamatory in any language.
Why haven’t the Mccann’s sued , if they consider a certain book defamatory ?

” Goncalo Amaral’s book has been (or is being) translated and published into every major European language…expect English. Why do you think that is?

Is this because he has not find (yet) an english publisher who has the guts to do it?
If you read the book,I swear there is absolutely nothing in it which would call for libel.
Honestly,it is just and essentially a recap of the investigation with an honest view of how the investigation has been led, including the PJs mistakes (which are NOT a few).
Amaral defends his work, the PJ and Portugal
I know that the book is not translated in english because “others” have been gagged,-agw…..because …well, yes,I rather shut up….but this slamming down of freedom of expression is a serious matter in the UK.
It makes cringe and suffer for this country who has always been so free and pioneer in many many ways
It is far too easy to maintain a whole country in fear.Fear of this and fear of that….I just cant believe it.Makes me really sad

Very simple answer.
They perfectly know that if they sue Amaral, for example, the case will have to be re opened because they have to take the counter part of what he is saying and PROVE what they are saying and it could go on and on for years. They are not up to this challenge. If they were not the cowards they are and when they status was lifted they would have come forward and SPEAK UP….but NO,not at all. They”ve burried themselves under a mountain of SHAME and GUILT,having a little fury once in a while and taking their lawyers out of the closet to threaten people.
Thats all they can do that bunch of ……

I think Amaral”s book will be published in English by an American Publisher and sold
on Amazon.
Don”t you think Amaral is just waiting for the McCanns to sue him? they won”t dare.

ah…the news run fast dont they? about the Forbidden Book
Amaral is not waiting for them nor anybody. He is far too busy…..
As you say they wont sue him nor Duarte Levy nor anybody else for the simple reason that would be a “window of opportunity” for the re opening of the case…..and obviously they dont want this,do they?
They would have to PROVE he is wrong and that would be very difficult. They are finished Val,F-I-N-I-S-H-E-D
…..and the truth will come

There has been very little ‘news’ on the Madeleine front, but a lot of news on the financial crisis which Anorak has covered in a lot of detail over the past weeks.
Some posters are only interested in the MM stuff, so they tend to ignore other topics…
October 11th, 2008 at 2:37 pm
Jo,
The McCanns sued in England and won heavy damages; they don’t have to prove Amaral is wrong.
Amaral has to prove that he is right…

I”m not so sure this Documentary from Portugal WILL show the Tapas timelines..
The timelines used can only be from their statements, conjecture could be regarded
as libellous (that much used word these days LOL).
Anyway, I”m sure the Sun article was to yet again undermine the PJ and since CM
works for Murdoch”s son-in-law………..say no more!!!!!

Yes I have noticed the majority of posters clinging to every snippet on Madeleine.
As for the economy it seems from the experts being interviewed that the Governments
bale out proposals will make little difference, panic has taken over on the Stock Exchange in the U.S. which is having a knock-on effect around the World.
October 11th, 2008 at 3:09 pm
I thought I read someone say that Amaral would disclose stuff at a Libel trial that is not in the book and not in the archived case files in his defence that is seriously damaging to the McCanns, allegedly.
Either way there is this problem that if you sue people for writing things that are actually or turn out to be true then you are in deep schtik, like Archer was, or that attorney general chap, Aitken.
They have Carter-*uck; the best Libel lawyers in the UK, they invented it in the modern sense and are great chums of Private Eye (sic).
So why don’t they, then?
I’ve been saying for a while now that all it takes is one English Language documentary laying it all out about the Dog Evidence and so on to finally bury their spun media image.
I still have faith in the UK public that when they turn, they turn properly, and it’s usually for dishonesty.

It isn’t the Stock Exchanges that you have to worry about, it’s the financial markets. Equities are just collateral damage.
And unless and until the banks start lending to each other again it isn’t going to get any better, which is why the US is now copying Gordon’s plan, rather than its own.
When things get this bad Governments have to take over, send in Swat teams and find out what really is lurking in those bank vaults…
