Madeleine McCann: Shannon Matthews And Amber Alerts
MADDIE WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann, Kate McCann and Gerry McCann
THE GUARDIAN: “Shannon Matthews drugged and tied up in mother’s fake kidnap plot, court told”
She was another Our Maddie, albeit from a lower social caste…
At a time when the disappearance of three-year-old Madeleine McCann was still making headlines, West Yorkshire police mobilised 200 officers, searched 1,800 properties, checked every park in Dewsbury, stopped up to 1,760 cars and passers-by a night, and drafted in three quarters of all the country’s police dogs.
So had Madeleine McCann not been missing, British police would not have reacted with such a show of force..?
RADIO NETHERLANDS: “Dutch introduce nationwide missing child alert”
Had an Amber Alert system been up and running in the whole of Europe, the disappearance of British three-year old Madeleine McCann in Portugal in May 2007 might have been avoided.
Yeah, might. Such are the facts…

Typical traffic warden speak, you and your ilk are the ones doing the accusing, put up or shut up. The parents are not suspects and Madeleine is a ward of court, perhaps you have now done an about turn and are not accusing the parents of anything or any involvement. Make up your mind.

Rasputin
Nearly right. But it is the McCs who are accusing someone of having adbucted their child. They are presenting themselves as the aggrieved, and the prosecution case would revolve round them as the victims. (Or secondary victims if we still bother about Madeleine.)
“That you did unlawfully take MM from the custody of her parents without their consent … ”
So in that scenario they are the chief prosecution witnesses. The prosecution is prepared by Police and prosecution authorities ON THEIR BEHALF.
They therefore carry the burden of proof.
November 14th, 2008 at 6:33 am
Madelein Beth McCann is a Ward of Court, for one good reason, can you guess what it is, can you guess what sort of status nullifies Ward of Court status.
November 14th, 2008 at 4:38 am
Quite correct PM, “3 The burden is logically therefore on to those who claim there WAS an abduction to PROVE it. That is the burden of proof on the prosecution” ++++++++++++++++++Your words not mine, PM.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
As you and your fellow accusers here are to all intent and purposes the prosecution, how about you set about proving your innuendos and slurs.
Incidentally there is no negative, the parents are not suspects, that is a given positive.
Must be off, duty calls.

I’ll leave rational for the rationalista. Don’t trust Credit Suisse and Deutsche Bank. They speak with forked tongues.
November 14th, 2008 at 2:55 am
Pretty good, thanks Saul.
Have been away so not up to insightful genius, just .scratching the surface.
My theory is I may say something rational after 12 hours of sleep, though that may be wishful thinknig..
But I’m glad that you’re around; you’ll have to do the rational stuff; so goodnight, Saul. I leave it in your competent hands….

Poor Priest,
I think the admin are working hard to get this resolved; the aim is to improve communication at all levels both in content and the way in which people’s contributions look, but websites are a lot trickier than it may seem. Hence beta testing, that wonderful process that brought us vista…

100% agree with all you say petermac, inluding the spacing issue!
November 14th, 2008 at 12:18 am
1 Mods, Admin, Anorak, and anyone else who is listening - Please put this and other postings in single line spacing - URGENT REFORM NEEDED
2 You CANNOT prove a negative. So… You cannot PROVE there was NOT an abduction, other than by positive evidence that something else happened.
3 The burden is logically therefore on to those who claim there WAS an abduction to PROVE it. That is the burden of proof on the prosecution.
KM said all those months ago that she had such evidence. Is it in her statement to the PJ ? Or was it the ‘jemmied window’ and ‘Cuddle Cat on the high shelf’. Can she bring herself to release that evidence now, even if she withheld it from the PJ for all those months. Come on KM. Tell the world, NOW, why you KNOW Maaaaadel’n was abducted, or forgive us if we continue to doubt you and your veracity, and that of GM, and of the rest of the Tapas 7/9
And so on
And on
And on
And the probable death of a little girl has quietly been expunged from the record.

Flogging a dead horse
Buy a stronger whip.
Change riders.
Say things like, “This is the way we have always ridden this horse.”
Appoint a committee to study the horse.
Arrange to visit other sites to see how they ride dead horses.
Increase the standards to ride dead horses.
Appoint a tiger team to revive the dead horse.
Create a training session to increase our riding ability.
Compare the state of dead horses in todays environment.
Change the requirements declaring that “This horse is not dead.”
Hire contractors to ride the dead horse.
Harness several dead horses together for increased speed.
Declare that “No horse is too dead to beat.”
Provide additional funding to increase the horse’s performance.
Do a Cost Analysis study to see if contractors can ride it cheaper.
Purchase a product to make dead horses run faster.
Declare the horse is “better, faster and cheaper” dead.
Form a quality circle to find uses for dead horses.
Revisit the performance requirements for horses.
Say this horse was procured with cost as an independent variable.
Promote the dead horse to a supervisory position.

Goodnight Chatelaine if you are still around, sorry I’m late tonight, still working on and off in front of TV, not the best way to work but it is late.
November 13th, 2008 at 11:33 pm
Ooh Raspy wherefore art thou? Question Time is coming to a place near you next week. Perhaps you could take the opportunity to put forward your interesting and innovative theories on the MM case. Ssee how they go down with the great Scottish general public - either snooze or boos I guess. It will be a wow, if you’re going I think I’ll go too to ch-j-eeer.

I’ll leave you to yourself now, Garth. You don’t seem to have too many posters here anymore… [That's not the reason, though, not to mention the numbers of posts to a thread anymore, is it?]
Good night again
