Oprah Winfrey Interviews McCanns In Their London Home
THE Oprah Interviews Madeleine McCann’s Parents
On Monday, May 4, Oprah will talk to Kate and Gerry McCann in their first interview in America since the disappearance of their daughter Madeleine.
Since May 3, 2007, when then-4-year-old Madeleine disappeared from the family’s vacation apartment in Portugal, there have been alleged sightings of the missing child, but none have been confirmed. For the first time, Oprah Show viewers will see a remarkable age progression that reveals what Madeleine might look like today.
You can see an artist’s impression of what a missing child might look like today if she is alive here.
Oprah goes on:
Plus, go inside the McCanns’ London home and spend a day with them and their 4-year-old twins, Sean and Amelie.

Paedophiles used to be called prowlers when I was at school. We were told to be on our lookout for a prowler every now and again, don’t know if there ever was one, but it used to scare the shit out of me so job done really!
I do wonder if we are “making” more paedos with the internet. There’s a school of thought that says that people (men I guess 99%) look at porn and then find it hard to get the same kick the more times they look, so start looking at teens, barely legals, etc, and start working their way down.
Thirty years ago you could hardly walk into your local WH Smith’s and ask for the kiddy porn section. And, of course, they have more access to each other on websites and in prison, where they can network. They have their own codewords to try and avoid detection and even have their own bloody groups.
That Louis Theroux programme was amazing the other night. Fantastic idea, not 100% safe, but (apart from killing them) a step in the right direction.

Cheryl
There were lots of child abductions in the past - the gross story of Albert Fish springs to mind (I think that was his name?).
We just talk about it more now.
Although - in the village where I grew up - there have been - in the annals of recorded crime - precisely no child abductions or murders…

How mysterious - the media hasn’t reported anything about the London home of the McCanns! Very interesting.

Hi C&C
Truly a long time! We went up to Yorkshire with the dogs for a break, and Henry developed a spinal embolism which left him unable to walk, so we lost him on March 13th, and then 12 days later Bob’s father departed this world, just as suddenly and unexpectedly.
Bob also had a fall and broke the scaphoid bone in his hand, and could not drive, so I was roped in as Chauffeur unpaid……his parents lived in Eastbourne, and we still have a 96 yr old…..

June, that is true. However, let’s remember way back when. I watched a story on abuse by a Priest of a young altar boy that took place many, many years ago (it was a true story documented). Back then, if you recall, parents felt Priests could do no wrong and that young boy’s parents and authorities didn’t believe him and it went on and on. Oh yes, and those ‘funny’ uncles or neighbors’ who loved to play games with the little children and have them sit on their laps. However, I did ask a family friend who is in their 80’s if many children disappeared back then from neighborhoods or found brutally assaulted or even dead. They said no not back then. Now, of course we all know about the horrible brutalities that took place in children’s homes run by the states or private institutions in our respective countries back then. No one listened, no one paid attention to what was really going on in those places.
One can bet the farm today, any altar boy comes home and says something to his parents about father so and so touching him, etc. that priest best hope the police get to him before the parents do and ditto for that ‘funny’ uncle or neighbor. We are made aware of the dangers in the world today through newspapers, court cases and seminars and groups that are dedicated to educating the public.

Coach potatoe’s? Are they slightly more mobile than couch potatoe’s
(Note greengrocers’ apostrophes in lieu of smiley)

Hello June Long time no see?
I agree with you….. I think we just know more now because it is in the open via the internet and better policing and court reporting. Yes there are sickos everywhere but there always has been and sadly there always will be
IMO we’ve been brainwashed into thinking there is a bogie man on every corner waiting to snatch our children if we let them have any freedom and all we’re doing is ruining their childhood and raising a generation of mollycoddled, fearful, unfit and unhealthy coach potatoes.
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:14 pm
I agree with you June - the world is no more dangerous now in that respect than it was 50 years ago - however, we are all more aware of its more unpleasant side and consequently more afraid and protective…
April 22nd, 2009 at 3:11 pm
What about paedos who are present in families? Elisabeth Fritzl springs to mind as a very badly abused child, and how many others terrified into silence by family members?
Was our world as children that safe? or is the perverted section of society not hidden away as it used to be. There are a lot of adults in their 50 and 60’s trying to get compensation from abusive clergy and teachers, people they should have been able to trust.

The Mccanns ought to start revising these educational tools. It might help them in future when these so called educated iditos go on holiday. Weirdos and sickos who prey on little children have been around for many many years. The world is just as safe now as it was many many years ago. The press create this scary world. It’s absolute crap. Maybe if you pulled your head out of the sand Cheryl you’d see this. I for one won’t be preached to on the way to parent my children by some middle class IDIOTS who eveidently don’t have the first idea about proper childcare. These sad F**Ks left their children/babies alone in a foreign country to fend for themselves. I’m glad they’re suffering. They deserve it. They dont’ deserve this airtime. They don’t deserve anyone’s money and they certainly don’t deserve to be in a position teaching US how to look after our kids when they can’t look after their own by creating some sort of scray monster world that has been around for years anyway. You know what, I wish they’d all just f**k off to where they came from.
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:53 pm
Where do you get this ’spreading the fear…’ by the ads that will be shown? No insult to any of you over there but I often wondered if you live with your heads in the sand by comments I’d read on the MM threads the last two years.
There are depraved sickos throughout the world, and your countries are not spared by them, who prey on little children and teens. It is no longer that safe world that many of us grew up in where our parents would let us go off to the parks when just little children and play with our little friends with no adults around, walk to the local candy store by ourselves in the evening, etc. Those are ‘educational tools’ not to instill fear in parents but to make them aware of what lurks in this world today and learn to be more knowledgeable and responsible parents in keeping your children out of harm’s way best you can.

.. glad you clarified that, C&C - had visions of you paddling a canoe all that way…! would have been impressive though….!

..boated?? meant …boasted. Of course!
April 22nd, 2009 at 1:46 pm
Afternoon all.
In US they drive thousands of miles without batting an eye. You still live in New York even if you’re four hours away.
I boated once about driving from Key West to Orlando in one hit (bar a coffee stop) and was met with expressions that said Yes? And? So?
Leicester on the UK map is definitely outskirts of London……….
BF…. there are two sections to the Oprah show. One part is film of them at home with the twins and other part is parents only with Oprah in the studio. Pre-filmed I understand
