United In Mourning For Missing Madeleine McCann, One Of Many
MADELEINE McCann: Anorak’s at-a-glance look at the missing child in the news – with new clues, shared grief and a promise of tears…
Daily Star: “MADDIE: NEW CLUES TO SPOTTY PROWLER”
DETECTIVES hunting Maddie McCann say they may have identified a prowler seen outside her apartment on the night she was snatched.
The man with the spotty face – the face that once seen would be hard to forget? And when did the man, reportedly, seen standing about become a “prowler”?
Investigators working for Kate and Gerry McCann claim releasing a photofit of the spotty-faced man seen watching their holiday home has resulted in a host of new leads – and even a name.
Scarface? That was what the papers called him?
Says Gerry McCann, soberly:
“We have had lots of information following that image but, of course, they all need to be filtered. You need things verified and the credibility checked. A lot of the information we need to pass on to the police.”
Indeed.
The McCanns’ spokesman Clarence Mitchell adds:
“The investigators are particularly pleased that they have had a number of calls that contained new information.”
Meanwhile…
Sky News: “Ex-Cop: ‘I Want To See McCanns In Court’”
The disgraced former police chief who investigated the disappearance of Madeleine McCann said he is going to fight legal action from her parents.
Well, that is his right… Everyone has the right to defend their name. And he is being sued.
Kate and Gerry McCann announced this weekend they are to sue Goncalo Amaral for defamation after he claimed in a book and series of interviews that they were involved in the little girl’s death.
If you were told by way of a book you were involved in your child’s death - a child that has gone missing; a child for which no proof of her dying has been found; a child for whom no proof of her parents’ involvement has been offered up – what would you do? If you were innocent - as they are - what would you do?
The couple, from Rothley, Leicestershire, said they are taking action because his claims that Madeleine is dead are hampering the search for their daughter.
Says Mr Amaral:
“My lawyers are working on the case and we will take the McCann couple to court and perhaps other people for defamation, slanderous denunciations and false statements.”
And this helps find a missing child, how? He has a right to defend his name- but why not use his nous and kill to find a missing child - of which there are many?
Daily Express: “MADDIE: AT LAST PARENTS FIND SOME COMFORT”
Yesterday for the first time since Madeleine went missing the couple came face to face with other families who have suffered a similar ordeal, at an event to publicise Missing Children’s Day on May 25. They said meeting the families had given them “comfort”.
Which all helps find the missing child, how?
At an emotional gathering they joined the families, charities and police forces involved in the investigations into other missing youngsters, including Ben Needham who disappeared from the Greek island of Kos in 1991 when he was aged just 21 months, and Katrice Lee who went missing in Germany in 1981 when she was aged two.
Is anyone looking for them?
Says Gerry McCann:
“This is the first time we have met face to face. Early on Kate and I couldn’t even entertain the idea of speaking to another family whose child was still missing, particularly for a long time, because you think, ‘I just hope we don’t get there’.”
Says Kate McCann:
“It’s easy to meet families where the children have been found because that gives you hope. But emotionally it is quite difficult to put yourself in a situation where a child has been missing for years and years. Obviously now it is easier, and I have to say it’s been a comfort.”
Families gathered at London’s South Bank aim to start a European missing children network. They included those of Damien Nettles, 16, missing on the Isle of Wight in 1996…
Grief shared. Grief understood.
And on the telly, grief to entertain…
Michael Idato trails Oprah: The McCanns And The New Search For Madeleine.
It’s on the telly…
Gerry and Kate McCann’s first sit-down interview with a US program begins with a summary of their daughter Madeleine’s 2007 disappearance and then perhaps the simplest question: “How are you?”
Unlike most high-profile interviews conducted by Winfrey, which come with too much natural razzamatazz, this is gentle and intimate.
The McCanns take some time to lose their stiffness, which is understandable in the context, and Winfrey plays a respectful interrogator. The most powerful material, however, is not the studio-recorded interview but the pre-chats with the McCanns at their British home and clips from the family’s home movies, which reduce all to tears.
Which helps to find the missing child, how?
Madeleine McCann is missing - still missing…

What kind of parents leave their three small children alone in an unlocked resort room while they have dinner while on holiday? Having dinner was more important than say locking the door, hiring a sitter, or making sure that their two year old twin babies & their 4 year old daughter were safe. Some people shouldn’t be parents. Something isn’t right about their STORY, which is what it *allegedly* is.

This charade can now stop for, I believe if part of my research is correct, Madeleine will be home way before Christmas.
Certain events have recently happened to make a break through which makes this possible.
Best wishes to everyone for a good return to little Madeline

It is a total disgrace that I may find this girl but the devil is too busy not to let this so called sympatizers give me the permission to find her/

I still have an open mind but lead towards scenarios where there is at least some evidence and to date see none for abduction.
My own thoughts on Tapas 7 or 9 is that they may be bit players in all of this
and not involved in either abduction or cover ups.

I’m still an undecided Clive.
I find it very difficult to believe in the abduction theory but I can’t discount it completely until there’s definite proof it didn’t happen.
I don’t care how many times I read that the inconsistencies in the Tapas crew’s versions of events are understandable and natural blah, blah because it’s those and the changes in statements that make the whole thing very suspicious to me.
On the other hand, I can’t quite believe that a bunch of friends, who aren’t even bezzy mates, would lie to cover up the death of a little girl. I also can’t believe that so many famous and influential people would support the McCanns if they were even slightly suspicious.
This has been my dilemma since the beginning, which is probably why I just can’t let go and leave it alone. I suppose I’m just a nosey cow really but something happened to Madeleine that night and I need to know what.
As always, there’s only one thing for certain, Madeleine is still missing.

@Clive - if I qualify as a contributor, I can say I am neither an abduction theorist nor an Amaral supporter. Merely a seeker of truth. Assuming of course, that times being what they are, such a term has any meaning.

Apologies for my stutter - ended up with a pigeon sandwich.
It is interesting that the contributors now have become totally polarised in their views-either abduction theorists or Amaral believers.
Something has to break very soon.

Hi all. Did anyone see Tears, Lies and Videotape last night. Right at the end, although, they were not featured, a picture of the Mccanns was flashed up. Purely by implication, I can sense another lawsuit on the horizon!
