Tabloid Economy: Daily Star Readers Bone Up On Porn And Pamphlets

daily-star1 Tabloid Economy: Daily Star Readers Bone Up On Porn And PamphletsBIG news on the Daily Star’s cover is that the Daily Star costs 20p.

It’s “10p cheaper than the Sun – and 10 times more fun”.

Of course, poking your eye with a shitty stick can be 10 times more fun than the Sun, which in the fun stakes lags some way behind Disneyland or watching a policeman slip on an old banana skin, though a full three times better than a night in with Ricky Gervais.

The Star is three times better than Ricky Gervais and 20p more expensive than a banana skin.

Not the greatest selling point admittedly, but then no more incredible than the claim of being ten times more fun.

The Star is 30p cheaper than the Daily Mail, 20p cheaper than the Daily Express (“Ten times better than the Mail”) and the Daily Mirror.

“Today the Daily Star is cutting its cover price to a credit crunch-busting 20p. This makes us officially Britain’s best value national newspaper. It gives you an extra 15p in your pocket every weekday – and, let’s face it, in today’s tough economic climate every penny really does count.”

Indeed, it does. So why not save a small fortune by not buying the Star?

And if you must get your fix of Star-style news, why not just nip into a phone box and read the cards on display and bone up on Islam with the BNP’s free pamphlets?
