Terrorists Target Jews Sugar, Winehouse and Ronson: Blair Outraged
ALAN Sugar is on a “Hit List” of prominent UK Jews to be offed by Islamists. So says the Sun, which leads with “TERROR TARGET SUGAR”.
Given Sugar’s beard, his “You’re fired” catchprase on The Apprentice and gruff demeanour, on reading the headline Anorak supposed Sugar was being less targeted than wooed by the new brown shirts to overhaul their recruitment policy.
Reading on, the Sun talks of “fears” that a list is being drawn up, and that the one who fears most is “British anti-terror expert Glen Jenvey”. He “is convinced online forum Ummah is being used to prepare a deadly backlash against UK Jews”.
On the Ummah site, “Saladin1970” asks for help compiling “a list of those who support Israel”.
“Abuislam” asks: “Have we got a list of top Jews we can target? Can someone post names and addresses?”
Names given include: Sugar, DJ Mark Ronson, Foreign Secretary David Miliband and Amy Winehouse. That’s a real kick in the teeth to the likes of Alan Yentob, the BBC bigwig who must have fancied himself to be a target.
And what of Lucian Freud, Nicole Farhi, Vidal Sassoon, Martin Sorrell (who’s doing his PR?), Rachel Weisz, Stephen Fry and dear Lionel Blair?
How many leading Jews are right now calling the agents demanding to know why their profile is so low that not even a nutter looking for a soft target does not want to attack them?
Has not Andrew Sachs suffered enough? How Dani Behr must kick herself (yeah, Saladin 1970, she’ll save you the bother) for not being more popular on I’m A Celebrity. Sacha Baron Cohen – they think Ali G is real and the Jewish part is the act. Leading British actor Anthony Sher – they’ve never heard of you! Gavin Rossdale of pop band Bush – who he?
It might also be comfort for the plotters to know that Barry Cryer is not a Jew. Neither is Apprentice agonist Michael Sophocles, who claims to being a nice Jewish boy turned out to be wrong on at least two counts. Other non-Jews who may be mistaken:
Prince Charles – not a Jew. Mohamed Al Fayed – not a Jew. Rosemary West – not a Jew.
And some who might be:
Tony Blair, Omar Bakri, the man who invented call centre technology, anyone who says “let’s touch base” and Westminster council traffic warden 678A9.
Addresses on application…

British anti-terror expert Glen Jenvey appears to be the *author* of the comments causing the most concern:

I got this off Pop Bitch who got it off the Gulf News.

Who knew that the PLO and Hamas and Fatah and the entire Arab League had no weapons but their righteousness?

You’ve misread.
At no point does Anorak say the people on the list were going to be physically attacked.
The article starts off as a piss-take of the sun’s ‘fears’ based on their one expert, then it turns into a piss-take of the fleeting/desperate nature of modern celebrity.
Why are non-Arabs and non-Jews getting so hysterical? It’s not the only conflict or injustice in the world. My friend in China saw 40 workers shot dead by the government from her bedroom window.
I’ve written to loads of MPs and MSPs, I’ve signed petitions for Amnesty International and Avaaz, I’ve got contacts with students in Universities in Tel Aviv and Bethlehem and I help out the various organisations they put me in touch with, I didn’t go on any marches (they’re ugly things) but I’ve taken part in 2 vigils… all without demonising (well apart from the lefties, neocons…..
).

If all you care about is bombing in Mainland Britain and Southern Ireland then Northern Ireland is better.
If you’re interested in the people who live there, their attitudes, their everyday experience of violence and bigotry and the type of person who is running the place - then it’s worse. The moderates no longer have a voice, or a constituency. That’s a mainstream political opinion you’ll find echoed in almost any research done in the province - not something I made up.
I don’t think having a chronically marginalised Protestant minority (Anglo-Irish, as well as Scots-Irish and some French-Irish or Irish-Irish converts etc…), a great deal of them working-class, in a United Ireland is going to be an easy solution. Look at Bosnia - about 60 years after the end of the Ottoman Empire the Serbs and the Croats still felt the need to attack the Muslims that had been left behind by their old overlords despite them having no money and no power.

Hmm, Stormont is open again and Sinn Feinn is in power shared with the Unionists, there are no bombs going off on the mainland or in Ireland. I can’t really agree that things are worse than before, and in any case soon the Catholic population will indeed outnumber the Scots Irish one, so it’s better to jumps before pushed as it were…
Things are not perfect, I’m not saying that, simply that there has been progress that I personally thought impossible as “recently” as 1994.
No, you did not mention Hamas and the PLO, that’s true, you were indeed consistent about outside interests, if I can put it like that and broaden it out like that also.
Thanks Daniel, I guess that we can file that under the “Celebrity Big Brother Bitch Fight” and “Cole Beats Wife” misleading headlines category. Usually Anorak is quite good at spotting those, I wonder why not this time…

Saladin 1970: “It would be beneficial to start compiling a list so that we can write polite letters reminding them of the injustices of Israel and to stop supporting Israel.”
Yet another piece of deceitful, sensationalist propaganda from the Sun which most of the world’s media has parrotted without checking the facts. The Muslim website was planning to send letters to these people, not terrorist deathsquads…

I’ve never slagged Hamas or the PLO off (just lefties and neocons and the Arab League who shouldn’t be so ghoulish/hypocritical/opportunistic about conflicts they probably wont die in).
Northern Ireland isn’t solved, it’s worse than ever. The extremists are power-sharing, bigotry (both Catholic/Nationalist/Republican and Protestant/Unionist/Denialist) is entrenched, Britain doesn’t want to keep them and Southern Ireland doesn’t want to take them, small scale violence, intimidation and segregation is pervasive… and they’re all miserable and paranoid (I have relatives there, on both sides - it’s probably why I’m not keen on violent reactions to violent situations - someone I love is guaranteed to be either killed, maimed or blamed).

And no, I don’t mean Cohen and the first Zionist internaionale of 1896, btw, just the above mentioned zealots.
January 7th, 2009 at 6:40 pm
Interlopers like the ones that were in the Stern gang and Irgun, who introduced terrorism into the region. True they had their reasons, but they were nothing to do with the Palestinians. I mean interlopers as in they had no interest in the region and it’s people, only to make what they wanted regardless of their surroundings.
I won’t go into what they did, but it was pretty messed up, and many went on to become prominet members of Israel, even the first PM, and you know what? Even he banned Bib Netanyahu’s Dad from being in Israel, so they went elsewhere, but soon came back, even more up for it than before.
If as you say Zionism is the hate that hate made then what is the PLO and Hamas?
January 7th, 2009 at 6:34 pm
LOL, yes, it’s a real Gordian knot, and slicing through it won’t work this time.
Those poor people that spent 3 odd years on a ship deserved their own state. What the Romans did which caused the Diaspora to Odessa (as in Edessa) and then another painful journey through Europe as Stateless persons was wrong so as you say Israel/Judea makes a lot of historical sense to me also.
So why not UN Resolution 101 (I think it was) from 1948 which assigned 51% as Israel and 49% Palestine with Jerusalem as an international City? Maybe I’m being hopelessly idealistic there, but it seemed a good solution, but as you say the proxies interfered and now it seems that we should be glad if we get the 1967 Green Line.
Some Zionists call the British anti-Semitic, because they argued against an Israel in Palestine (which was under UK mandate at the time), but this was because our FO mandarins saw trouble ahead, and they were right, but the US having no experience in the region over-ruled it (I think that we suggested Ethiopia instead which was insulting to the refugees, but why not? Still, all hypothetical now).
As you imply, both are running out of steam, the League and the Jewish State. Quadaffi used the refugees on the one hand as cause celebre but in practice as an inconvenience that he’d rather not pay for (and often didn’t, using emotional blackmail with the other league members). But at the same time the last Palestinian PM said that the Holocaust was not their fault, and could they not build Israel in Germany?
Herd to finish this off satisfactorily, like with most these things to do with this, I just wish that they would recognise each other’s right to live, but things are getting worse and more entrenched by the day, Spiked online had an interesting article yesterday or the day before saying pretty much what you started discussing just now about both sets of extremists now defining each other. I hope I’m not getting it wrong there and stuffing words in your mouth; not my intent, more how I’m reading it.
Intractable, but I also did Northern Ireland and the Terrorism there, back then even in the early 1990s it seemed equally intractable and bad history-laden on both sides, I used to put both NIreland and Israel/Palestine as classic examples of almost impossibly polarised insurgency and counter insurgency within separate communities that lived in the same state, so here’s hoping that this one also gets fixed like the other one.
Then again the last thing out of Pandora’s box was indeed hopeless hope…
Papal state, lol good one again…

Interlopers? With an agenda of hate?
That’s very dodgy language to use. And it’s not true.
Zionism was born out of desperation and it was gentiles who first suggested it as a way of getting rid of a group of people they feared and hated.
Most Jews who went to Palestine were refugees - because of the persecution they had faced autonomy and an Army became vital preoccupations.
I doubt any of them expected to win against the British or the Arab League but once they did an arrogance and an expansionist enthusiasm set in - but that doesn’t mean they should be demonised.
January 7th, 2009 at 6:07 pm
I’m in favour of a Papal State type solution.
Israel should be like an HQ for the Jewish race (or whatever the definition is), give most of the land to the Palestinians and then hire the IDF out as mercenaries to keep their skills honed in case the Palestinians get jealous that Israel is richer (which it will be).
It wont happen though. If Israel can’t persuade the Arab League to settle the refugees (and they wont because they need Israel as a scapegoat for their own shortcomings), or they can’t give birth to more Jewish babies or find more lost Jewish tribes - it’s going to die through a demographic implosion or a Masada.
January 7th, 2009 at 6:05 pm
Wrong post Karen. They are all prominent Jews that are against the Israeli state (except Sugar, that was just tacked onto the end using the Yiddish I know), this is the only point that I’m making there. The irony of putting Milliband up there, the dad thing was more of an aside also. The radical muslims are targeting someone that condemned Gaza last week and etc. at least as being dispproprtionate.
I don’t recognise the Soviet Union as being Marxist either; it was what Marx called a dictatorship of the proletariat, a much earlier stage, a dictatorship against all the people in the name of the Proletariat. I’ve always been consistent in that, just not on here.
So again your conclusion, I understand, perhaps you mean my previous post on Gaza before Xmas/New Year (I assume), but read this one again, totally different gravy; at least in intent, hence saying wrong post. This post uses the classical satirical cop-out of lampooning both sides, if anything.
As someone that has done history and the holocaust I defend Jews against that and what happened in Russia, this is clear in my mind. At the same time Palestinains have to be defended against these interlopers that came with an agenda of hate from somewhere else, and even shunted aside the original Palestinian Sephardim.
So far as I can tell that might come from my love of History and Ethics.

You only care because America supports Israel.
If Israel had been supported by the Soviets in 1948 every last leftie would be excusing every last IDF action & you’d be howling in outrage as America carpet-bombed them.
Socialists excused Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, the IRA, the Shining Path, ETA…. any moral or humanitarian superiority is delusional.
January 7th, 2009 at 4:42 pm
LOL Miliband, son of an arch-Marxist thinker, one of the greatest of his age (therefore not exactly pro-Israel), and neither is the progeny himself, going around asking Israel it stop it and pronouncing it disproportionate; but maybe he’s another one of those stereotypical self-hating Four by Twos?
Or Gerald Kaufman? He always was popular in the Chronicle and in Israel as well? Always going on about him, they were…
Still old Alan could make a killing in Gaza selling airiels or is that Ariel? It’ll be just like old times, flogging a load of knocked off schmatta back to the goyim, plastering his smiley (sic) face and going into his schtick again, the schlock shyster…
Anyway, once again it’s like the afflicted mocking the afflicted… sholem, or is that salaam? Gimme the salami anytime…
January 7th, 2009 at 10:42 am
Oh ok then, I won’t mention them
January 7th, 2009 at 9:22 am
…and as for traffic wardens!….Oy Vey tatty!!…don’t even get me started on that one!
January 7th, 2009 at 9:20 am
….come to think of it….so did Abdullah…..
Bloody Jews ! They are more cunning than I first thought…
January 7th, 2009 at 9:19 am
….they all have beards.
January 7th, 2009 at 9:16 am
Has anyone else noticed that these nasty jews are very cunning?….The traffic warden/jew/israeli/nazi told me his name was Abdullah and that he was an African by birth…..
Does he think I’m stupid?…I know a Jew when I see one….
January 7th, 2009 at 9:09 am
I can’t bleeding believe it!! I just popped out to de-ice my car and found it clamped & ticketed by the nasty nazis…
Bloody Jews!…they will pay for this….or rather I will.
January 7th, 2009 at 8:52 am
Its that nazi like appearance that might very well get the traffic wardens branded as Jews, and its that jewish appearance that might get jews branded as Israelis too. Jews…Israelis…Nazis…logical progression. Jews are the new nazis did’nt you know June? Funy though , I don’t know one Israeli/Jewish trafic warden…but I have met a few who might be nazis….traffic wardens that is.
January 7th, 2009 at 7:54 am
Traffic wardens are fair game, it’ll get them off the streets.
But will Islam swallow that they are Jews? its that Nazi- like appearance they have that might cause a slight flicker of doubt
