Fire At Will Lewis: Jasper Gerrard Bombs In Padstein’s Cornwall
THERE’S something of the Gaza Strip in Cornwall, says Jasper Gerard in the Telegraph:
It is not quite Palestine, but “Padstein” can also be pretty dangerous – and not merely due to the constant shelling we face with the fruits de mer. Padsteinians, so named thanks to Rick Stein’s takeover of Padstow, were already running the gauntlet with a constant bombardment of oysters at Stein’s restaurant, Seafood.
More:
Now police confirm that a sinister Cornish group has declared Stein’s customers “legitimate terrorist targets”. Gulp: so as this shell-shocked trencherman cowers in his trench, donning protective napkin, I hope you appreciate how I have put myself on the front line for you.
Incoming!
Cornish “nationalists” accuse the TV chef of making a land grab, with his restaurant, hotel, bistro, café and seafood school occupying territory once held by natives. Stein is unrepentant as he continues to attract settlers, easily identifiable by their uniform known as “Boden”.

it’s ridiculous. I bet Rick Stein has been in Padstow longer than most of the cornish nationlists that probably coem from that 30m squat in London. I say bring it on…. You wanna fight whilst i’m spending my hard earned wedge in his restaurant? You wanna disturb me whist i’m tucking into my seafood platter than try it sunshine….
