Tabloid Bingo: German Gunman 15, Michael McLendon 9 And Tariq Aziz 42
STAR dies sells more paper than Star lives. But there is lot of grim news at the moment. What isn’t about rampaging gunmen, celebrity cancer or Scare Stories about how bad it’s gonna get for you is weird news that attracts people looking to escape the aforesaid horrors, albeit featuring elaborate ways of dying.
Even celebs - that froth on top of life’s flat pint - are talked about as being hated for beign irritating and famous.
Just today, a guman in Germany has killed 15, a nutter in America has killed 9 and Tariq Azia has been charged with killing 42.
It’s Tablid Bingo!
Iraq
Tariq Aziz, for many years the public face of Saddam Hussein’s Iraqi regime, has been jailed for 15 years for his role in the execution of 42 merchants.
Aziz had denied any role in the summary trials of the men accused in 1992 of profiteering during economic sanctions
Germany
Fifteen people have been killed after a teenage gunman went on a rampage in south-west Germany, officials say.
Most of the dead are thought to have been pupils at the Albertville secondary school in Winnenden, north of Stuttgart.
The gunman, a 17-year-old former pupil, is also dead, police say.
The teenager, who was said to have been wearing black combat gear, was chased by police after fleeing the school into the centre of town.
America:
A gunman has killed at least nine people in a series of shootings across two towns in the southern US state of Alabama before killing himself.
Officials say there were at least four separate shooting incidents.
The gunman fired on homes, a petrol station, shops and vehicles in Samson and Geneva near the Florida border.
Five people - including a child - were killed in one home. Several of the victims are believed to have been members of the gunman’s family.
The gunman has not been formally identified, but was named in the local press as Michael McLendon.

He’s my favourite Shakespearian character, dairy…which speaks volumes about my stability…I wont ever be delivering any lead soliloquies though.

I thought Hamlet had plenty of delusions anyway….? but they weren’t about his size….

I think the Alabama shooter went mad because of the insistence of his neighbours, his state, his county and his government of calling the place where he lives a town. Six hundred-and-odd people? On any given day in the week before Christmas, my local Post Office has a greater population than that. Transient, admittedly - but greater.
If he’d had enough bullets he could have killed everybody and declared himself Mayor-for-life. Town indeed. Hamlet with delusions is more like it.

Guns are everywhere, legal or not.
Banning them wont stop criminals or the determined from killing - it might stop some accidents or spontaneous murders (but then, they can always use knives).
Venting at the NRA and the constitution might give all the shock-horror a focus, but they are right - it is people who kill people - and they can always get guns from Mexico or gun-runners.

That “nutter in America” burnt his mother’s house down with her in it before he started on his killing ramage. After he burnt his mother up he then went and killed 4 other family members including his Grandmother. The child he killed in his shooting rampage, along with the child’s mother, was only 18 months old, the 4 month old he shot has survived surgery. That man shot and killed 10 people and them himself. Under the Constitution he had the right to own a gun. The NRA says “Guns Don’t Kill People, People Kill People.” I’d like to take every damn gun that was used to kill people in the US and shove them down every single Member of the NRA’s throat!
How did the kid in Germany ever get his hands on a lethal weapon to kill 15 with!

[...] Why bother to create that? Is Jade Goody really deserving of that because she is famous? [...]
