Burn A Green Shirt For Earth Hour

IT’S almost time for Earth Hour, when we turn off the lights, the life support system and the oven and return to the Dark Ages to prove how far we have come.

THERE was a buzz around Roy Merrington’s beeswax candles this time last year. As millions of Melburnians prepared to switch off lights for Earth Hour, close to 10,000 candles were ordered from his Caulfield business. A year on, the rush for wax seems to have waned.

“I would like to think we would do the same (trade), but we will probably do half that,” he told The Age this week. “People’s attention is elsewhere …” 

As Andrew Bolt says:

Hmm. Protest against emissions by burning something.

And when it gets dark, the green shirts can start smashing the lights and the windows. Raus!

PEOPLE are being urged to break into shops, “disable” four wheel drives and throw pies at people by an extreme environmental group being promoted by the NSW Greens.

The group Rising Tide is planning a blockade of the world’s biggest coal port in Newcastle, for which Greens MP Lee Rhiannon has held a “direct action and civil disobedience” workshop to prepare protesters.

It’s run by white people. And they be bad people:

The 600 attendees (by the organisers’ count) are almost entirely white males, and many, if not most, are past retirement age. Only two women and one African-American man figure on the programme of more than 70 speakers.

In the UK, profiling like that might be considered a hate crime if it were about any other group other than the one she described
