Italian Woman Aged 98 Spends 30 Hours Knitting In Earthquake
AMID the rubble and hurt in Italy, Maria D’Antuono, 98, is rescued.
She says she passed the 30-hour waiting to be saved by knitting.

30 hours yes, I said to my Luigi, 30 hours I said, the fuse must have blown as the lights and the tv didn’t work, yes it was like 1943 all over again. I bet it was the yanks, it was last time yes, hundreds of them waving their nylons and jars of coffee yes and you couldn’t get any eggs for months, no, they had the lot. What have i knitted? yes well it was a sweater for Luigi yes but it was dark in there so its a coverlet now yes four arms I know unusual for a coverlet, I’m 98 you know, 30 hours on me own yes…….
