Baby P’s Mother Letter In Full: Gallery
THE mother of Baby P is awaiting sentence. She writes a letter to the judge. he reads:
“I am sorry for all the pain and suffering my failure has led to.
“I can only hope and pray my family, my ex-husband included, can one day forgive me of my mistakes. However, I know I can’t forgive myself of my shortcomings. I am truly sorry.”
This letter shows her to be of sound mind. If it was meant to elicit sympathy, it fails. It is damning…
Perhaps now the Sun can put aside its opportunistic campaign against the social workers to concentrate its report on the guilty? Remember that grave grab?

Just heard on Channel 4 News that the NSPCC have protested about the leniency of the sentencing. They will have some clout

Life should be life no matter what. The sentences in this country are laughable…especially when they let people out for being ‘good’! For crying out loud these people are in prison for a reason and they should stick to the sentances given. ‘Oh let’s forget that this person raped and killed someone, they have been so good and well behaved…..let’s let them out 10 years short!.
I think the USA have the best ideas when it comes to the sentencing debate and prison….chain gangs, gas or the electric chair.
Why should we as tax payers pay to keep these monsters alive?
This country is full enough and it’s prisons are at breaking point, so why not ‘get rid’ of those who do not deserve to be on the planet?
Evil is not a strong enough word for these three people. As a mother I can not understand how you could let anyone do that to a child. And as for everything else they have done, well what can I say other than put them up against a wall and shoot them?
Those poor, poor children.
I hope the other inmates realise what these people are in for….they will get theirs.

as C&C says our sentencing is a joke, and it would be much better if we got that right.
I also think when a helpless child is the victim of such wanton and prolonged cruelty then bringing back hanging would be a suitable punishment.
But I doubt any of them will emerge from jail unscathed too

June apologies i actually forgot about them doing that..but even without that i agree with you totally she may as well have murdered that child herself..she could have stopped it at any time if she had wanted to..its a shame our court system is a complete joke..but on the other hand maybe they wont make it to their release dates..with any luck..

She will no doubt be creeping round the prison Chaplain and ‘embracing’ Christ before the month is out. A convincing conversion is always worth a bit of time off

The mother is jailed for a minimum of 5 years. She has already spent 21 months in jail so that is deducted less good behaviour and all that crap and she’ll be out in a year.
and as for the step-father… concurrent sentences for death of Peter and the rape of the little girl? and the lodger (we all know his connection but not allowed to say) almost got off.
We’re the laughing stock of the world with our stupid sentencing.
Life means life for all three of them IMO!! I am incensed…..

No, it isn’t, and on reading the item they have awarded more for rape than for murder, and goodness knows how tortured that little boy was. All of them should be jailed for life, including that bloody apology for a mother

Five years is not enough is it?

I don’t call smearing a bruised baby’s face with chocolate in order to deceive the social worker a mistake either, I call it aiding and abetting

I think she calls them mistakes and shortcomings because she is trying to convince people she never actually physically hurt the child..which may be true but if so she still let it happen and thats just as bad in my mind to be honest..hope they lynch the bitch..

The fact she referred to her monstrosities as “mistakes” and “shortcomings” says it all.
Bitch! May she suffer for the rest of her miserable life.

Aw diddums, you silly bitch, so you should be sorry, and you’ll be a lot sorrier
