Liverpool Break The Bank For ‘Snoogy Doogy’
FOLLOWING their disappointing defeat at the hands of Milan in the Champions League Final, Liverpool are ready to splash the cash in order to rebuild Rafa Benitez’ side.
With Manchester United close to signing Bayern Munich’s Owen Hargreaves for almost £20 million and Chelsea expected to continue their policy of big name buys this summer, the pressure is on the Anfield club to keep up with their Premiership rivals.
With owners George Gillett and Tom Hicks desperate for Liverpool to mount a serious challenge for the domestic title as well as in Europe, the likelihood is that Benitez will spend some serious money in the summer.
While the likes of Barcelona’s Samuel Eto’o, Valencia’s David Villa and even West Ham’s Carlos Tevez all possible targets, another name, according to Gillett, has come into the frame. Says he, “If Rafa said he wanted to buy ‘Snoogy Doogy‘ we would back him.”
And who said Americans know nothing about ‘soccer’?
The very hairy and very smug Noel Edmonds is set to pocket £400,000 for fronting a new Sky One quiz show - “Are You Smarter Than A 10-Year-Old?”. Yes I am, actually.

This is the problem with Americans taking over the game you see…they know nothing about “soccer”. I re-watched the Liverpool-AC Milan game with American commetry…When the second goal went in,,,,they said something like this…
“INZAGHI SCORE AFTER A GREAT BALL INTO THE IN-ZONE FROM KAKA!! THIS MEAN AC MILAN HAE SURELY WON THE CHAMPIONS CUP…”
“i was convinced he was offside there…he is clearly in front of the last defender….”
WHy do they bother?

The American commentary was done by a Scottish commentator (Derek Rae) and an Irish “expert” (Tommy Smyth), so it doesnt really help your “Americans know nothing about football” stereotype.
It just shows that Tommy Smyth is an idiot.

Go Liverpool Stealers! I can’t gloat - Arsenal are being chased by an American billionaire. We’ll buy the big names, have the big stadium, be on the telly all the time. The old fans will moan and grumble about the suits and the cost. And the news fans will love it. Have you seen Chelsea’s new breed of supporters - what a bunch of pink-shirted, arriviste, fickle pillocks. And Chelsea always used to have the best London support…
