The Poem Of Tony Blair By The Bard Of Downing Street

tony-blair-poem The Poem Of Tony Blair By The Bard Of Downing StreetWHO wrote Ode To Tony Blair? Ahem:

“At Downing Street upon the stair,

I met a man who wasn’t Blair,

He wasn’t Blair again today,

Oh how I wish he’d go away.”

Tory Shadow Business Secretary Alan Duancan says its Business Secretary John Hutton.

Not so, says Hutton: “I would write better poetry than that.”

This is John Hutton who can rhyme entreprenewer with sewer. So, perhaps, yes. Or no.

So who wrote the poem? And can you do better?

  1. 1 JuneJohnson Says:

    Perhaps he wants more money?

  2. 2 Patch Says:

    Gentle Jesus Up Above
Please give Tony Blair The Shove.

  3. 3 lyn Says:

Blair is there happy to say
Having a holiday to help him stay away
Nothing can be done to bring him back
If he does, he will get the sack
He is happy in another job
Happy too, to be earning a bob
    Holidaying in Portugal seems
A great pastime among the greens
    Grapes I mean

  4. 4 Mic Says:

    Tony, Tony, teeth so white
    spouting forth your earnest shite,
    Down what immoral, fateful track
did you lead the people of Iraq?

    (…apologies to William Blake)
