Pray At The Pump: Thank God For Lower Petrol Prices
A PRAYER group in Washington DC says it brought about the recent sharp drop in the US price of petrol.
God moves in Mysterious Ways, his 4×4 Land Crusie with air con. Amen.
Rocky Twyman, 59, started Pray At The Pump meetings at petrol stations in April.
Since then, the average price of what the US calls gasoline has fallen from more than $4 a gallon to $3.80.
Hallelujah!
“We don’t have anybody else to turn to but God,” Mr Twyman told the BBC. “We have to turn these problems over to God and not to man.”
Opec Wakbah!
His first pilgrimage to the pump was prompted by fellow volunteers at the First Seventh Day Adventist Church in Petworth, a working-class neighbourhood of the US capital, who were struggling with higher gasoline prices.
Pray hard enought and God may bring about a mighty hurricane for so much power.
Amen and hallelujah!
“We believe not just in prayer - because we believe that faith without works is dead. So we’ve encouraged people to car-pool more and organise their days more, because it’s a combination of faith with these other factors.”
Sharing cars, so lowering demand for gasoline, brought about a reduction in petrol prices. God is an economist.
The Father, The Son, the Holy Ghost, Joseph, the woman from the dry clearers…

As much as I believe in the Higher Power of God - I have to say that this was definitely to do with different Higher Powers.
Trust me on this.

I’m always worried by these reports; how do they know that they are praying to the right god?
What if the Duty Deity decides that the same result could be easily achieved by dispatching half the population to an early bath, and no stories before bedtime…

….. errr .. if it works, I’ll pay for their air tickets to come and pray at our pumps … I’ll even provide the mats for them to kneel on …
