Madeleine McCann: Look Into Robert Murat’s Eyes
AGAIN the Express has Madeleine McCann where Princess Diana once resided in perpetuity: on its front page.
“MADELEINE,” says the headline, “witness tells chief suspect: You are lying.”
The Express has news of the face-to-face meeting between Robert Murat and three of the McCanns friends. One of the women launches a “tirade”. It is claimed she points the finger at Murat and screams: “I know you were there. I would recognise you anywhere.”
They recognise Murat because, as the Express says, he has a lazy right eye. Look into my eyes. He has a detached retina.
The Express says this could “Shatter” Murat’s alibi. It could. Or couldn’t. Murat remains a free man, albeit under suspicion.
Murat’s “spokesman” Tuck Price, says: “Robert found it traumatic. He could not understand how these people could sit there and accuse him of lying. It all seems to revolve around them recognising his dodgy right eye.” Adding: “It was dark, how could they have seen it. Besides that, he was not there anyway.”
Mr Price is billed as a “friend” to Murat in the Mirror. Why not in the Express? An oversight by the paper or a slight shift designed to show Murat as friendless. Who would stand by him but a spokesman?
But Dr Russell O’Brian is adamant. He says he saw Murat at 1am. A Dr Fiona Payne is alleged to have told police: “He seemed to be peeking into the apartment.” Dr O’Brien’s partner, Jade Tanner, tells of a man rushing away from the resort carrying a small child in blanket.” All three are friends of the McCanns.
“You’re a liar. I saw you peek in apartment,” says the Mirror’s headline.
But we don’t know if he did. Murat says he is innocent. A friend of the McCanns says Murat was in the area on the night Madeleine McCann went missing. And that is it.
More is need to secure a conviction. But we know no more.
All we have is the finger pointing…

i think this is stupid everyone has lost sight of the mane thing here. there is a little girl out there who was taken away from her family while asleep. she wakes up scared not nowing where she is just think how she felt that night what she is going though.why dont everyone stop thinking they know what happened and hope that poor little girl is safe and well. just think how u would feel if it was u or your child.

He must have got a good glimpse of the kids from O’brian and the Tanner lady. They only lived Exeter 4 weeks before they went on vacations in Portuguese together. They say they never knew Murat, but his sister lived near. I believe that. This guy is shady and was caught on the very first day of the investigation practically when witnesses he was translating for told him they saw him there that day, but he simply told them, “No, you didn’t.” I wonder if he told the police every exact word that was said? No telling how many times he mistranslated them to cover himself. What a farse!
And now they have been told to find the DNA or else on the McCanns, so lets see this brand new evidence on the bloody towel be proven to be theirs. How convenient! A low battery could also explain the bad reception on the phones between O’brian and Jerry McCann, but police decided with their wonderful policing skills it was because O’brian was lying about where he was. It is a sudden freak of investigation of this weeks search that they should invent this new evidence because they were ticked off at Britain for not allowing the trash DNA to be used against the McCanns. It was inconclusive, so not even useful after all that defamation of the McCanns characters. Although the public thinks it fun to hate them and because of that they are guilty in their eyes.
Portuguese probably stole the girl themselves and sold her. I think they should investigate which of their officers were patrolling that night.
Now they are trying to not allow Madeleine’s face be in print. They say it will encourage kidnappers to try to get her? Is that funny!! First they won’t allow the sketch of the kidnapper and now trying to get rid of the photo of the little girl he kidnapped! What a bunch of sorry people! I hope they rot!

notice no one has mentioned the tapas 9 and the police officer which was sat with them,i wonder why there has been no coverage what so ever on this man.
another point,where was murat when madeline was abducted and yes i said abducted not murdered meaning alive and not dead.

The rental place would have to have a record of who rented that car. Usually the car is cleaned before someone else can rent it. But who would look under the carpet for body fluids?
Did they ever say what the important piece of evidence was?
I believe the police have MORE evidence.
Did they ever confirm body fluids in a cupboard?
I believe i read that the blood sample can not be 100% due to the age of the sample?
Why would there be blood in a trunk of a car? How many people on Holiday carry dead bodies around in the car?
Now that the police in Portugal are working with the police in the UK how can it be a set up?

as to how the blood got there 25 days later. well how about the body was moved 25 days after death. wouldnt thta account for it? and is their proof they didnt have the car earlier. or maybe someone close to them had the car and they used it. no i dont think its a setup.

Oh, come on. This case is a farce:
“Portuguese detectives suggested to Kate McCann in questioning on Thursday that traces of the young girl’s blood had been found in the family’s hire car, a Renault Scenic. Mrs McCann told the officers there was “no way” this could be the case because they hired the car 25 days after Madeleine went missing, the friend said.”
Now how did traces of Madeleine’s blood get into a car the McCann’s hired 25 days after she was abducted and the world’s press was watching them like a pack of hawks? This smells badly to me of a set up.

Spencer…I believe i read an aunt or gramma said something about Maddie being a sleepwalker and her parents using drugs to help her sleep.
Cant tell u how true it is.
It is hard to say what happen…..
IMO, Either (1) Maddie was taken to be sold to someone wanting a child, (2)Maddie was taken by a pedophile, (3) Maddie walked out of the room and vanished, or (4) Something happen to Maddie in the apartment.
#1 - If Maddie was sold to someone wanting a child, her abductor would have to watch the routine of the Mccanns and be able to get in and out of the apartment without being seen. Her “new” family would have to pay a LARGE amount of money for her. They would know WHO she was with all the publicity and would not be able to go out into the world without fear of being recognized. What kind of life would they all have? They would have to live in hiding. One would have to wonder why Maddie was the target and not the twins?
#2 - If Maddie was taken by a pedophile, it makes me sick to think what the poor child has gone through and if she is still alive or not. The same would be true as in #1, her abductor would have to know the Mccann’s routine and would have had to get in and out of the apartment quickly. Again, WHY Maddie and not the twins?? #3 - If Maddie walked out of the apartment, I believe someone would of found her wandering around, probably crying for her mom and dad. #4 - If something happen to Maddie in the apartment (we still dont know if the blood on the wall and curtain belonged to her and what about the hit the dog got off a dead body? How many dead bodies would of been in that apartment?) we need to go back to #1 and #2 - Did someone try to take her and something happen to cause her death in the apartment? Why would her “abductor” STILL take her and why try and clean up the blood if it is hers? Then we have to look at the Mccanns. I would hate to think they were involved, but they have to be looked at. As far as we know, they are the last to see her alive. The Mccanns left their small children night after night to go out with friends. From what we know, the upstairs neighbor tells us she heard a child crying in the Mccann apartment on 2 different occasions. One night i believe it was 11.45? The night Maddie went missing, this same neighbor heard a child crying again. One of these times the child was saying DADDY. I believe most children when sick or hurt look for their mom. We heard that Maddie was a sleepwalker(from a aunt or gramma?) and that the parents used meds to help keep her alseep? How true this is i dont know. That might explain why the twins never woke up during the commotion and even being carried out of the room by strangers. Why did Kate say THEY TOOK HER? Who is they? One of the party said they drank on these nights, saying who cares, we were on Holiday. Did the Mccanns drink also? We dont know. The Mccanns and their friends have conflicting stories about checking the children, some accounts even say they listened by the door? Is that actually checking? One of the couples left a sick child to fend for herself?
The only problem with this is WHERE is Maddie? Kate and Gerry are upset over the news, people are pointing fingers at them, saying they know what happen to Maddie. The police told us they “bugged” the Mccanns phones, texts and emails and have evidence that they know Maddie is dead. We read recently that the police from Portugal and UK are on to something, a big search and possible arrest soon, results of the DNA found in the room may be in but they have not told us yet.
Meanwhile, the Mccanns are now talking about going home as 4, for the sake of the twins. We have seen their smiling faces at the zoo, at the beach, and we have heard about Gerry running, going to the gym and jetting off here and there and having luch with friends and Kate taking the twins to day care and sitting and staring at the beach or giving interviews or enjoying time with family and friends who come to visit.
Now we hear how Gerry thinks Maddie is alive in Spain.
I hope Maddie is alive and well, being looked after. I hope she is found soon.

Star, I agree the story doesn’t add up, if maddie was alive and with all the biggest campaign ever then she would have been found by now.
the media isn’t wrong on every single aspect and the UK police know more than they are letting on.
I think they are just waiting for just a little more evidence before they act.
Didn’t the MCcanns mother in law or some relative admit that the McCanns gave their chidren mild sedatives to sleep, and then she was told to keep quiet about it.
Too many inconsistencies, one has to see that.

I myself get sick of people going on about Maddy being killed, when the blood tested was not hers on the apartment walls, and if so then WHERE IS THE BODY! and the Mccanns would have had to put the body somewhere in a hurry and no dogs found it that night, and there were heaps of people around too.
until there is evidence I won’t believe it , as deep in my gut I feel she is still alive and will be found then we will all know what happened.
We have been told that most of what is written in the media is not true, the media have to write something to sell a newspaper!!!

spencer…..IMO the police have to have some type of evidence. Kate tells us as soon as she went into the room she KNEW Maddie was taken (did they ever say if the room was out of order?) Then she ran out of the room leaving the twins AGAIN…saying that THEY have taken her.
I have doubted the Mccanns from day one. Mom and dad were the last to see her. Then we have the dog getting a hit on a dead body? The body having to be there for 2 hours? Well…right there things dont add up. The parents and friends have too many inconsistencies in their story. The crying child in their apartment. Well i’m sorry but YES the Mccanns should have guilt feelings for leaving their children to have a good time. One of their party was quoted as saying…yea we were drinking, so what, we were on Holiday. I want to know why they brought these children on vacation. From what we are told, the Mccanns took the children to that day camp think in the early am and picked them up at 12.30 (cause the camp shut dn) and then actually spent some time with them in the afternoon before leaving them in the apartment to go party.
They did do wrong. And i have a feeling the police have more on them and or the friends. I wish we would hear more on the search and arrest in the UK

I wouldn’t rule out the parents as suspects, in cases like this the person who killed the child is almost always a close family member and the last to have been with the child. There is next to no evidence of an abduction, it was just assumed that she was. They need to sweat the parents like they were ordinary people not the holier then thou wealthy white, professional parents they have portrayed themselves to be. No one leaves such young children alone for so long in a foreign place. It stinks of murder, manslaughter, or accidental death covered up by the parents you can see it in their faces. there is something not right

Well one thing the McCanns discovered, when British investigators were finally drafted in to review the work of the PJ, was that the Portuguese made a complete cock-up of the investigation, much more so than the McCanns had evidently supposed. The British experts referred to them as “Keystone Kops” and one Portuguese inspector was dubbed “Inspector Clueless” by Portuguese observers themselves. You can read the relevant article here:

That might have been a laughing matter were it not for the fact that Madelein’s life is at stake and the PJ also made very strong overtures that the McCanns could be up for arrest on what were ostensibly trumped up charges. Now wouldn’t it be nice for the twins if the McCanns were to become suspects and locked up for a further 100 days in a Portuguese jail, until presumable the Brits could sort out the mess…or not, as the case might be?
No, I think what has happened is that the McCanns have finally woken up to the fact that things don’t work in Portugal quite like they do in Blighty, and they’re very wisely making tracks, I dare say on the private advice of the British experts themselves or someone at the British embassy. It would certainly be the advice that *I* would give them.

Jeeves…I hope your right, really i do!! It just seems a bit odd that after saying they will not leave Portugal without Madeleine up until a few weeks ago, then they start talking about picking up and heading home for the twins sake, right after the police start to treat them differently. (I’m not a child therapist) but I dont think the twins have a clue as to what is going on. Yes they told them there sister is missing, after lieing to them that she was on a short holiday, but i dont think they can comprehend “missing”. I hope that Madeleine is found alive and well SOON and i also hope that the Mccanns are not involved in any way.
IMO there is something not right with this whole case. I hope we find out what happen that night.

No two people react the same way when tragedy strikes. Some people find it difficult to keep talking about it because it evokes too many painful memories. Others will find it a catharsis to talk about nothing else but. Arguably most are probably reluctant to wear their hearts on their sleeves in public.
Also, there is a time, after one has left no stone unturned in one’s efforts to find a missing child, when as heart-wrenching as it may be, one has to simply say “Leave it in the hands of God,” “God giveth and God taketh away.”
I think Gerry’s attitude is that he is wisely philosophical. When you have practically been to the ends of earth, as the McCanns have, to find your loved one, and found no sign of her anywhere, you have done all that could possibly be required of any human being. When the bridge collapsed over the Mississippi, the search for missing persons officially ended just 48 hours later. Cast against that tragic backdrop, 100 days is an outstanding effort.
The pain will not simply go away just because they can hardly bear to breathe her name anymore. They will suffer for this for the rest of their lives. What kind of sadist would want to rub it in their face? Just because Gerry’s blog reveals little outward emotion, that doesn’t mean that his heart is not torn up inside. Precisely because this loss has become so unbearable for this couple, they logically HAVE to move on, or risk going insane.

I think they are getting driven out of Portugal, they have thousands who support them but prob thousands who don’t and want them out,’

Certainly it seems like the majority of posters on here are anti Mccann. Personally I don’t see the point in being anti or pro Mccann. What’s important now is the childs safety. But some people seem to have a deep rooted need to be right about everything, which invariably involves making others appear wrong.

Being pro or anti MCCann isn’t the point of these threads.
The point is,is that a child is missing and the why’s and wherefores of that. Is it an abduction, unclear yet for the reason, the Police say now, that it could be for money or revenge? so kidnapping isn’t ruled out. And certainly a painfully obvious topic is paedophilia.
In due course, possibly , not definitely, the parents may come under the spotlight. But for now these threads are mainly about Madeleine McCann, and not her parents

I agree with Denise, other parents could have campaigned to the extent the Mccanns have, so I dont see how that was a hurtful comment to other parents of missing kids, what were they supposed to do, go home and get on with life. What would you do????
Also my son was a sleepwalker and was precribed light sedation nightly for this, so if this was the case with Madeleine, why is it being blown out of proportion,
to make it look like the Mccanns did this for a peaceful night out?

I have never said I believe in the Mccanns leaving their kids alone, I have kids and have never left them alone, with all the Mccanns publicity and funding they are doing it to get their daughter back not just to be made a star, and I believe that when she is found the money goes to other missing kids,

Denise - I think that initially it was the childrens grandmother who told the press that the kids were sedated when she was asked about Madeleine sleepwalking = look back to very early in the investigation to quotes in the media when the granparents were allowed to speak - before they were Gerry-clamped
