Madeleine McCann: Murat ‘Cleared’, A Volvo And Urs Hans Von Aesch

ylenia-lenharda.jpegBELGIAN police are searching for the owners of the black Volvo in which Madeleine McCann was removed from a Belgian restaurant.

Madeleine was spotted by Katleen Sampermans. The “33-year-old therapist is professionally qualified in child welfare”. The Express places much stock in qualifications and education – see quotidian mentions of cardiologist Gerry McCann and GP Kate – and affords more time to Ms Sampermans’ testimony.

But the car has not been found. Shame. We wonder if the Belgian police are up to the job?

“Of course we are taking this sighting seriously, because that is our job,” says Detective Houben Eddy.

There are sightings of Madeleine McCann in Spain. Sightings in Morocco. Sightings in Malta. Sightings in Wales. Police are looking for Madeleine McCann all over Europe. But no-one has found her. Are they failing? Or is it an impossible job?

And the Swiss police are looking in. Alleged child abductor Urs Hans Von Aesch has killed himself. His body is slumped in a car. He was the prime suspect in the disappearance of Ylenia Lenharda, a five-year-old Swiss girl (pictured).

The Express says Ylenia bears a “striking resemblance to Madeleine”. She does not; not unless all white children look alike.

Readers learn that Von Aesch might have been holidaying in Portugal when Madeleine McCann went missing.

They read that Ylenia vanished last Tuesday from a swimming pool in north-east Switzerland. Von Aesch was the chief suspect. He was on the run. And he shot a man. This man is in Swiss hospital. The Express cites the theory that this man had evidence on Von Aesch and was silenced.

Anorak readers may wonder where all this speculation leaves Robert Murat. He has not shot himself. He remains at large.

The Mirror talks of “mounting speculation” that she is about to be cleared.

If so, the Mirror says the “Portuguese investigation” will be back to square one. Perhaps it would have been different had a Mirror journalist not turned police on to “creepy” Murat and then announced her suspicions to the world?

If Murat is cleared, the papers will pursue him for his story. They will surely pay him for his time.

And Madeleine McCann will still be missing…

  1. 1 Kevin Smith Says:

Contrary to your headline, it has not been reported in the papers that Murat has been cleared yet.

Also Murat was already under Police surveillance when reported by the journalist.

Also Murat is a ‘he’, not ’she’.

Don’t read Anorak, read something else.

  2. 2 MaryJoe Says:

Yes I agree READ SOMETHING ELSE !

  3. 3 Brighton'er Says:

Then why are you here reading Anorak?

Shouldn’t you be on the Findmadeleine site busy ‘donating’ your money and pressing F5 for the latest Gerry blog where you can worship their excellent parenting skills and wait for their ‘how to make quick cash’ book and talk shows.

  4. 4 Abbeigh Says:

They read it because they wanted to find out the latest news about Madeleine. They didn’t know it wasn’t going to give information with some incorrect words! If anyone was to read a report they would expect it to be accurate. Twat!

Anyway you are all meant to be adults so why argue over stupid wee things it’s that persons own opinion if you don’t agree them put your opinion up. I’m only 13 but right now I’m talking the most sense!

  5. 5 pat Says:

“Whilst” all you people are on here being “spiteful” there is mass confusion to sort.

So, whatever happened to the theory about the guy that looks like the Texas law and the other who might look official in some kind of off handed way? Then there is the therapist lady who is 100 per cent sure that she saw Madeleine and should know for sure by now. Then there is Greta interviewing a woman on the news who was talking about much less hopeful circumstances, which is the only story that I have seen reported here. On top of that there is a new suspect involved, a 30 ish something year old.

Looking for answers Anorak but reading this only brings more questions. Now there is a Swiss guy? 67 year old I read somewhere. He has been there at Portugal too or at least I read he lived in Spain. Is there some kind of actual reason to baffle people until they give up?

My question is what is the deal with guys? Why everyday reports of crazy stuff guys are doing? Why can’t guys just be happy with normal? Now it seems like more and more crazy stuff popping out of the woodwork. There is the guy photofit, the Swiss guy, always Murat, Malinka, the other friends of Murat, and a new Portugal suspect of some kind, odds? at this point and at least some of these are going to turn up normal maybe. If they all went to a therapist would any of them just be normal?

So the Belgium lady therapist said the child she believed to be Madeleine stared at her and that is how she noticed the situation. I choose to believe this theory because it offers hope. What the therapist ladys says would mean Madeleine found and connected with her instead of that she found Madeleine. Could it be that Madeleine is smarter than all of us? I hope so.

For whatever reason our news is reporting the same as Portugal. There has been nothing about the Belgium sighting on news here that I have seen.

  6. 6 pat Says:

Is anyone else curious how much of the Madeleine news is a “wee” bit true anymore? Why don’t you go back to Tony Blair’s approach and just hang them all?

  7. 7 Nita Says:

A lot of what we read is total rubbish, i don’t believe for one minute that someone; broke into the apartment, ‘accidentaly’ killed the little girl, (as some papers are saying), cleaned up the walls THEN took the childs body with them??? What rubbish. As for Murat even though they haven’t found traces of Madeleine at his mothers villa, it still doesn’t put him in the clear, IF as we have been reading in the tabloids this week, someone carried the little girl towards the beach area, why would traces of her dna be in Mrs Murats villa? and surely he wouldn’t have taken her there while his mother was in the house?? I am totally confused, lets hope the dna from the little girl in Belgium brings some answers.

  8. 8 Kathy Says:

Bravo, Anorak! Now, what about the various DNA tests? Was the DNA from the milkshake bottle in Belgium Madeleine’s? Why hasn’t anybody recognized the police drawing of the man that was suppose to be with Madeleine in Belgium? What did the woman look like? Is there a drawing of her? Did the second DNA test results from Murat in Portugal come back yet?

  9. 9 Brighton'er Says:

For a 13 year old kid you do act your age. As in you made no sense.

  10. 10 Elke Says:

I have followed the case from the beginning and I think it is highly unlikely, that Madeleine will be found alive. This is all too sad. But now - I can’t understand what makes Madeleine such special. Even in the german newspapers, where the case of Ylenia is reportet, the main accent lays on the parallels to Prada del Luz (both girls are blond, the abductor drove a white van etc.). And so the vanishing of this swiss girl turns into the case Madeleine. Why? Ylenia is still missing, her kidnapper is dead, all her clothes where found in a forest. So this poor tod is hidden somewhere, naked, (likely) dead or (maybe) alive, and if she still is alive, the time is running. But no one seems to care. No words of pity for her parents, no prayers left?? Is that because the girl is not looking just as cute as Maddy or is it one of the results of the Mccann’s media-campaign? Isn’t that strange? It’s like the public attention is completly absorbed by Madeleine and the Mccanns.
    Sorry for my poor english.

  11. 11 Sara Says:

I read that the man shot and hospitalized was “sleeping in the forest?” And the gun used was not the same as the one the 67 yr old “committed suicide” with. Apparently different bullets. So, where is the girl and why would the old man be in the woods with only her items. Was it really a suicide? Could this be a deal gone bad? And could this be part of a ring? What about the young boy missing this year in Spain and never found. This forest “suicide” deal doesn’t ring up. And may people can be involved in child trafficking. So Murat still could have been involved as with others. These children could very well be alive but in the hands of monsters that need to found. I hope the police and interpol are looking at every angle and not just what appears.

  12. 12 JuneJohnson Says:

    Elke,

there are a lot of posts on here going some way back talking about other children who are missing. The general opinion is that because of Madeleines family’s campaign it will highlight the plight of all missing children.

But having said that, most are nameless, and until today I hadn’t heard of Ylenia either, its nowhere in the UK news, only here on Anorak

I know of some people who will have prayers left for Ylenia and her family, and I shall ask them.

  13. 13 Moderation Says:

The story of Ylenia was in the Mail on Sunday online and I posted a link to it yesterday.

  14. 14 ellie Says:

get on with the search it has ben nearly 100 days already

i just feel reallllllllly sorry for the Mccann’s but why didn’t they take the twins to

  15. 15 annonymous Says:

Elke ,in my opinion the public is absorbed with Madeleine’s parents. They are constantly in the public (she) kate a great public profile, well groomed, ready for any photo op…he a perfect candidate for public office…..Unfortunately, Ylenia did not have this “publicity machine”, and does it work? we have not found dear Madeleine. Perhaps Ylenia will be better served with less publicity and more “in depth”investigation.

  16. 16 Denise Says:

why should Kate go to the pack ! if she looks this good then great, going to the pack and not being well groomed won’t bring maddy back nor will it make kate feel good and strong to keep going, why don’t people just give them a break! At least they get off their ass and make it known world wide she is missing, thats why other parents of other missing children don’t get publicity cause they sit back and do nothing and probably never see them again,
The Mccanns will get Maddy back and good on them, they will never make the mistake again of leaving the kids alone, and a good lesson for everyone!

  17. 17 Denise Says:

if missing children were well publised then they might all be found

  18. 18 Mary Magga Says:

Has Murat had a sex change?

  19. 19 anonymous Says:

Denise, Great try…have we found Madeleine???Do you not think missing kids parents have not tried to work through the system??? Please!!!!…..We have heard every insignificant detail on how kate “feels”…how the twins are reacting? This is “ONLY” about Madeleine…It has been known for parents of missing children to go under cover to seek out criminals in the depths of depravity where there child had been taken (behind the scenes)..NOT SUGGESTING THAT….but I admire that..Madeleine was jeaopordized by all adults she depended, media, government , lack of any serious investigation and “parents”??? Everyone is on notice until she is returned…

  20. 20 jdixon Says:

doesnt any one find the whole thing bizare maddie has been missing for 3 months and the police only just discover (or just anouce) that there was blood in the appartment. and why is it because this woman in belgium is of importance they are taking her serious, dose it mean that us ordinariy people cant be trusted. there is so many things from the start that dont add up, there is two many questions unanswered. is it because of the fact that its all happened in a forigen contry or is someone hideing something.
and in a news clip today kate say she wish her privacey to be respected sorry but she cant have it all her away is was ok in the begining when they wanted all the press coverage. sorry but unfortunally they dont get to call ALL the shots

  21. 21 Cynthia Says:

A number of parents of children who were abducted and later found murdered have made it their life’s work to campaign for missing children and other crime victims — for example, John Walsh, the American who hosts the ‘America’s Most Wanted’ TV programme, whose small son Adam was taken by a paedophile and later found dead. Even some parents of children found alive continue to be active in organisations to protect children from predators. At the time a child is missing, naturally the parents are completely concerned with their own child’s case, and of course they hope to involve everyone possible in the search. Who would fault them for that? Because the McCanns have the money and the personal characteristics to permit a high-visibility media campaign, they do so. Not every parent of a missing child is able to do that, though I imagine most would if they could. In America, publicity is given to every case of a missing child, through postings on consumer products, TV news reports, web sites, and a national information network linking law enforcement officials and the public. Paedophiles and other sex offenders are registered and when they are released from prison their address becomes a matter of public record forever after. All these efforts bear fruit, yet there are still many missing children in America, as well as all over the world. More and more publicity is a good thing. It’s good for Madeleine’s case, and is to be hoped for in every case. If there are international rings of paedophiles, should there not be a coordinated international effort to defend children from them?

  22. 22 Alan Says:

I agree, an international task force should be established to combat child predators.

If it’s true there’s blood on the wall in Maddie’s room, and someone tried to clean it off, and if it proves to be Maddie’s, that would suggest the possibility that her parents are implicated — there’s no reason for an abductor to risk taking time to clean a wall, since the crime will be immediately known, anyway. It has been reported that a UK cadaver-finding dog made a ‘hit’ in the apartment, as well, and the report said that means a dead person was in the room for at least two hours. If that’s a fact, then surely it casts doubt on the parents’ story of checking the apartment every half-hour. They seem to be very unlikely child-killers. Accidents can happen, and people sometimes panic in such situations, but even that would be quite out of character for the McCanns we see in the media — they are doctors and thus trained to deal with emergencies. They were seen all evening at the restaurant up until the alarm was given, so if Maddie died in the apartment and was taken away in the evening, they would had to have had help. It’s all so puzzling!

  23. 23 Alan Says:

By the way, the missing Swiss child is Ylenia Lenhard, not Ylenia Lenharda.

    Quoting from missingchildrenblog.com:

Ylenia Lenhard, 5 ½ years-old, was last seen at 9:30 a.m. on July 31 in front of the village swimming pool.

Police and firemen began scouring the area, questioning residents and searching the nearby river Sitter.

Now, the mystery has taken a new and strange turn. Police in Appenzell and St-Gallen have revealed that, on the same day that Ylenia disappeared, a 46 year-old man with a gunshot wound was taken to hospital by a passing motorist. The wounded man said that he had been shot by an unknown assailant as he slept in the woods of Oberbüren (SG), 24kms from Ylenia’s home. When police investigated the attack, they discovered a truck in the woods with Spanish license plates. The next morning, Aug. 1, they discovered the body of a 67 year-old Swiss man who had apparently committed suicide. Ylenia’s push-bike, helmet and backpack were found next to the body.

According to police, the dead man may have tried to kill the sleeping man as a witness. However, they are now looking for a second gun: several shots were fired although the weapon found next to the body had fired only one.

Police are still investigating the scene and are trying to determine if the truck was used to carry the child. They have already ruled out any relationship between the girl’s family and the two men.

  24. 24 Kitten Says:

I believe Murat is a scapegoat and totally innocent.

The police now say that Maddie could have been ‘accidentally killed by someone she knows’. Why? They must have a reason.

What if Maddie was accidntally killed or murdered by one of the McCann’s friends while checking on her, or even one of Maddie’s parents themselves?

The McCanns are ‘convinced’ Maddie is still alive. Why? When no-one has found a body, alive or dead. She was dumped in the sea? And the McCann clan says they saw someone carry a child towards the sea, and keep pointing the finger at Murat (no evidence found there) and keep taking attention away from themselves.

I know it sound awful, but you can’t ignor the fact that one of the McCann’s or friends could be covering up their actions.

  25. 25 jdixon Says:

its all very strange i have always said from the start that there was something not quite right with the parents , two many questions not been answered. its going to be intrested to see how this is all going to end. everyone is focas on the parents what about the twins.

  26. 26 Cynthia Says:

I’m very anxious to learn if the DNA of the child seen at the Belgian cafe turns out to be Madeleine’s! That would certainly put a new slant on things. One news report said an announcement about DNA results could be made today (Wed. 8th Aug.) or tomorrow.

  27. 27 Penster Says:

It’s not Madeleine’s DNA in Belgium, report just came in. No surprises there. And surely it’s not her blood specks in the holiday apt either, just a few specks could be anything. And if it is her blood, then who, how and when did the rest get cleaned up? We know that blood cannot be properly removed with normal cleaning products, it needs an enzyme based one so either it’s not hers or the criminal/s did a great job removing most of it. And it’s really hard to get good help these days.

  28. 28 Lynn Says:

I think we have to deal with evil people of this world in the correct manner. Rapists, pedophiles, murderers and child abusers, if proven 100% by way of DNA should be executed…….I say bring back capital punishment. There are no deterants (especially in Britiain) in place and these scumbags can look forward to 3 or 4 years of their 8 year sentence in relative luxury at the tax payers expense until they are released for ‘good behaviour’ only to go out and reoffend in most cases.

DO ME A FAVOUR PEOPLE OF THIS WORLD………………….

What the Hell are the government thinking? Why are we paying through the nose to protect the ‘Human Rights’ of these evil b*****ds and not protecting our own childrens’ human rights? It truley makes me sick that most of us are out there working damn hard to give our kids the best life we possibly can and we are slaughtered by tax in part to pay to keep these vile people fed, watered and in some cases educated to a higher standard than ourselves.

Let me just tell you that I have 3 young children and if either of them were harmed in any way by a predator I would do time for them.

  29. 29 Jeeves Says:

We’re not back to square one. We’re still there.

  30. 30 Cynthia Says:

I’ve just seen in The Scotsman that the DNA on the milkshake bottle in Belgium is that of a man — so it doesn’t prove anything one way or another about Maddie — only that the last person to drink from the bottle was a man. Apparently the man with the child finished the drink. One could put a sinister implication on it — that he wanted to eradicate the girl’s DNA — but it’s more likely to be an innocent scenario. What a disappointment!
