Madeleine McCann’s Parents Have Had Enough
MADELEINE McCann is on the Express’s front page. “MADELEINE,” says the headline, “We want to be the first to know what’s happened to her, say distraught parents.”
Well, they had best not rely on the Express, which has yet to shed any light on the disappearance of Madeleine McCann, although it has cast shadows – yesterday we read of ‘suspect’ James Jerrod.
A source “close” to Kate and Gerry McCann tells the Express: “They have had enough of all this speculation and rumour.”
The Express says Madeleine might be dead. She might have been killed in the family apartment. It might have been murder. Or an accident…

Do parents leave their kids alone in a hotel room in a foreign country? All 3 under 4 yrs old? Having been advised of robberies in the hotel? The door of the apt facing the street where anyone can have easy access to the apt??
September 9th, 2007 at 8:55 pm
“I think a number of you are being hypocritical. When I go on holiday many many parents put their children to bed and then the parents go to some other location within the hotel and check on the children from time to time.”
—————————————-
Don’t many many parents also lock their hotel doors afterwards?

I think there may well be an arrest(s) in the UK soon-ish, but I wouldn’t hold my breath…
I think the press referring to ‘any moment now’, ‘imminent’, ‘impending’, ‘within hours’, ‘within 48 hours’ etc is just to keep us on our toes and checking out their sites and buying their papers! They’ll let us know when they’re ready… not unfortunately when we want to hear the news. It’s so frustrating, because we just want to get to the root of it - and they know this too!
August 20th, 2007 at 10:44 pm
Hi Colette,
I am most interested in this new development. It is supposedly imminent that they will arrest someone in Britain.
Is this going to be another false report or is it factual?
I hope this leads to Madeleine.
August 20th, 2007 at 6:07 pm
Hi anonymous2u!
I know that sticking up for the McCanns can be a dangerous thing to do on this site!
and actually your very last question “Who is searching for Madeleine?” is what I am most interested in myself. I am open to anyone (including the parents) being possibly involved in M’s disappearnce. But I think at this point… (sunce some time has passed) there should be more focus on trying to find M, than on the parents’ poor behaviour prior to her disappearance. However, I respectfully accept lots of people will differ. It’s just my view.
August 20th, 2007 at 2:18 pm
avau…I understood you perfectly….and you are making complete sense to me.
Colette..People take caculated risks and make mistakes. Boy!this was a big one!!
Based on the information they were given by hotel management(robberies). It should not have “felt safe.” Plus they did not go check the the children as they said they did.
More importantly…Who is searching for Madeleine?
August 20th, 2007 at 10:59 am
Avau, you say :”It bothers me that two well educated parents would leave 3 little kids alone in a apartment late evening in a I presume strange country..” (etc) “IS THAT A FARE ASSESMENT?”
A fair assessment of the fact it bothers you? Or a fair assessment of what they did? Or the incredulity of what they did?
Why does it bother you so much? Do you feel that somehow it reflects a mistake that you might make (but of course would never?) I guess you are perfect then?!
(Sorry btw if that sounds mean, and if it sounds I am having a ‘go’. I just coming from the other side here.) X

Marilyn here,
I had nothing coming in and thought perhaps Anorak shut down this segment.
I guess new news is on the way.
Marilyn n Texas USA
Mods and Admin,
its still here, but what news?
August 20th, 2007 at 6:33 am
According to news reports more may be known which will result in questioning or re-questioning and possibly a “suspect” within the next 48 hours.
Do you close on the weekeneds Anorak or the ladies water loo overflowed?
August 20th, 2007 at 6:17 am
avau..my sentiments exactly?
August 20th, 2007 at 4:39 am
Anorak do you sleep on the weekends? No news.
August 20th, 2007 at 1:48 am
It bothers me that two well educated parents would leave 3 little kids alone in a apartment late evening in a I presume strange country, when supposingly if they did the same in their own country would be charged by the police and who knows have the kids removed from their care………IS THAT A FARE ASSESMENT?

Please note: I am not suggesting that Mr. McCann and Ms. Tanner had an affair. I happened to read that posted at yahoo last night.
August 19th, 2007 at 4:25 am
oh forgot to say correct not Mrs. Sen Mrs. Fen
Have any of you searched the web at yahoo? There is a theory someone came up with ohhhhhhh but I read the person suggested that Mr. McCann and Ms. Tanner had an affair. The idea was that Ms. Tanner was involved in the kidnap. It took me a while to think about that one but I am unable to relate to love gone wrong people kidnap other people’s children. No.
I don’t know that once a woman took her boyfriend’s dog home for the day without telling him because she was angry. The guy was very upset looking all over for the dog. The dog was fine. So, there is someone who was capable of kidnapping a dog for a day.
August 19th, 2007 at 4:18 am
By the way what happened to Stephanie?
August 18th, 2007 at 7:52 pm
This is Saturday. From what I understand there should be new developments by Tuesday but unclear if that means more questioning or an actual suspect.
Response to Marilyn Just as in Portugal where supposedly it is difficult to put an end to the problem due to an element of connected, if I understand correctly. So, how to break through the elements that protect the illegal activity?
Maybe there will be more news later. Having not been in the area it is hard to imagine someone enters an apartment in a complex full of many people between , guessing, 9 and 10PM abducts a child without notice, which is known within an hour? Just an example how fast something can happen. If the person did actually walk down the street with the child, ?, aren’t there cars on the road at that time of the night? It is hard to imagine someone walked down the road with the child. I am unclear about the environment.
My guess is the police have a lot of information with cell phone signals and records, dna, observations and so on. Is a random snatch harder to figure than a planned?
I don’t understand why Mrs. Sen didn’t tell the McCanns about any worry she had about safety if she somehow knew the children were left alone. Something doesn’t add up. Mrs. Sen looks like a responsible type person.
After I catch up on work I will be back. Hopefully there will be more to consider.

Marilyn here,
OK - Let’s try to join our hearts with the FACT that the McCann’s received a “life Sentence” without parole ( as Madeleine did).
This means - the very second all of this went down - the family will live with this tragedy and a life sentence of heart ache and suffering the rest of their lives (as Maddy).
Will legally punishing the McCann’s just punish the McCann’s or will it EDUCATE the world of new parents for PREVENTION of ERROR.?
Could it help to DO BOTH ?
What will be gained ?
Now,
Let’s say oh 10,000 (just to pick a number) babies are born in one month in one big city in any big country.
Now, all of the new little mommies and daddies “to be” have attended a “Do’ and Don’ts” and FYI’s - mandatory Child Rearing 101 course.
This course would reveal real life stories like so many as well as myself have shared (like a drivers hand book and a written test) and offer an awareness to take with us through our journey as parents.
Let’s say we create a program to EDUCATE our little mommies and daddies that is MANDATORY before you can bring your child to legal status. (receive a valid birth certificate, or a valid certificate of completion of the course to receive the needed vacinations or other creative, realistic means of trade for knowledge).
Now we have let’s say the McCann’s who completed the course, saw the video of other similar what if’s and how to’s , got the t-shirt, ready for parenthood with another level of learning.
Now we can set fourth fines - guidlines and penalties that are standard real to the letter - YOU KNEW BETTER.
Now - we have GEE should the McCann’s be charged ? Well, they attended the state mandated course and were clear on the laws.
Here is their certificate of completion ON FILE.
Now, with this in place - Did the McCann’s KNOWINGLY BREAK THE LAW. Yepper.
I presented this similar family effort to my children on my own when THEY became parents.
I say this because,
I was married to a dentist and hey - doctors ARE not the sharpest tool in the shed - just because they are doctors.
Oh they are good at what they train to do and allot of other wonderful things- even excellent.
But common sense and good judgement can fall to the way side in ALL of us. Putting Dr. in front of our name does not repell us from “dumb-ass”. (or lawyer, or Mr. or Mrs. )
I recall when Michelle was born.
My mother neighbor came over to see the newborn baby.
Michelle would not settle down so the neighbor proceeded to fill her powder formula with a mix of distilled water.
Well, I was TOLD by NURSE RATCHET at the HOSPITAL EXACTLY what to do - you HAD TO BOIL THE WATER.
I was in a panic that she just injured my child.
Point being I was too young to know that distilled water was as good as or better than boiled water.
I was only 19 yr.s old.
IF these continuing comments could help LAUNCH new programs and STIFFER LAWS it is ALL WORTH IT………….
We could wipe out the Montrose lifestyles.
We could wipe out a larger number of nieve parenting, we could perhaps wipe out the biggest threat - a LARGE number of pedefiles.
And yes, sadly pedifiles watch and study their victims in safe environments.
OR anywhere they can find a “hole in the fence of life”.
I can go on line right now and Google pedifiles in my zip code and see a patern of red dots pin pointng their current address.
Oh that may or may not be before or after they moved last week and just have not been updated by the postal service. And that address update may ONLY take place if and when they have to report to a paroll officer.
Fresh out of prison or years prior - they are in our neighborhoods, ball parks and hotels and and and………….
I have followed this tragedy since day one.
I hope we all can take some little piece of wisdom from these threads and apply them to our own lives of our beautiful little children.
Marilyn

Response to Marilyn I lived at 2016 Main Street. That was close enough to Montrose to get the idea. All in a period of time, adapting, gunshot outside the first night, two men looking for a threesome, a lady that use to be a man… There use to be some animals, like passing a zoo on the side of the road. One night early on a policeman drove past me in the car and on his microphone he said “lock your doors lady” but they already were locked. Visiting Montrose was like being sent off for an education. At 2016 great gumbo, the chef at the time was from N.O., and a little store downstairs with the best baklava, the lady said she was born in Bethlehem.
Response to Paul Where do you think the investigation is leading now? Last night there were reports about possible new suspects? Does anyone have a clue?
August 18th, 2007 at 5:05 pm
Who is winning here? If it is a pedophile, How could he walk right in to a a “seemingly safe environment” and abduct an innocent child knowing the chances of being caught. What audacity, good vs evil. I guess evil feels very confident in a “safe enviornment”….I have yet to hear that Madeleine is receiving justice from any of the adults in charge of protecting our innocent children..If we can’t do that then what or who are we…Where is Madeleine???
August 18th, 2007 at 4:48 pm
Wow With some much various reporting this case has been hard to figure from the beginning.
Mrs. McCann’s mother said they had a false sense of security. I believe her although, again, I am unable to relate. Mrs. McCann’s mother said her daughter was “wailing like a wild animal” which I can relate. What happened there I don’t know.
If it turns out that the reporting about Mrs. Sen seeing a man crawling out any window then I will believe her. Considering, the best I can tell, Mrs. Sen was upstairs that is hard to figure if it was her window she is referring. Reports stated nothing was stolen from the McCann’s apartment.
There is a strategy to baffle people until they don’t know what to believe… Could that be the case here?
August 18th, 2007 at 4:47 pm
Marilyn here,
NO I would not leave my child or grand-one’s alone for any reason.
However,
let’s take the Jon Benoit story a few years a go ( who’s mother since died)
Jon Benoit was snatched right out of her home asleep in her bed. Murdered.
This family was nieve to trust the safety of their home - I guess.
My daughter was standing 5 to 8 feet away from me when the attacker made his move while I was shopping.
I was nieve to go shopping on the same day a perv was lurking in a department store.- NOT.
If the blood in their veins was the FIRST LAW and trade off for taking our children when caught and convicted. Oh Boy.
Would I think twice before tasting that forbidden fruit. Bet your boots I would.
If someone has set out to find a way to a child.
It is unexpected and most likely going to happen.
I am taking ISSUE with our INTERNATIONAL LACK of STIFF PENALTIES against any and all pedefiles that can persue our children even in the safest of care.
My crusade FOR YEARS has been KICK ASS and TAKE NAMES when it comes to pervs.
Hey - I went in to death row Huntsville prison to “interview” Smiley.
Smiley was a young man who got life without parole for murdering William List. William List was a man ho loved sex with young boys.
He would drive Westheimer (Montrose area) in Houston, Texas and pick them up - offer them food, clothing and shelter - in trade for sexual pleasures. (With a side dish of drugs.)
I will leave some of the other horrible graphic facts alone.
Long story short - this young man Smiley got drugged up and turned on William List and set out to murder him to save his friend fom Williams caper.
Fortunately he was successful in murdering the perv - but UNFORTUNATELY he was sentenced to life at about age 16.
I was just an average citizen who was curious and went to the court house and collected the public records and went to the prison posing as a writer to interview this young man.
I tell this - why?
Because William List was a convicted RELEASED sex offender from ANOTHER state who relocated to Texas to repeat his crime.
He was a very brilliant man with allot of self made fortune.
I understand he invented the goose neck trailer hitch among other creations.
IF you harm a child as a sex offender - get ready to meet your maker if your are convicted.
If a few of these cases were handled that way I’d be willing to roll the Big Dice that less of them would want to face EXECUTION instead of a free ride in prison for several years then set free.
INSTEAD of letting them out of jail to repeat the same.
It has been proven that the perverted roll as “pedefile” is INCURRABLE.
DO NOT PASS GO - DO NOT COLLECT $200.00. NO GET OUT OF JAIL FREE CARD - LIFE IS NOT A GAME OF MONOPOLY.
If we adopt a ZERO tollerence for these people.
We would find ALLOT LESS OF THEM.
I am not condoning or judging the McCann’s actions or waredrobe.
We are fed scenarious from a to z about so much by the press it is a mere treadmill of entertainment for some.
I’d be willing to bet - we the people don’t have a clue what is really fact or fiction.
We were not there before during or after this happened to Maddy.
But perhaps a sex offender was.
Perhaps he has relocated to your city - or my city - or any country with a rock to hide under until he strikes again.
Don’t take your kids shopping ?
Don’t trust your home enough to sleep peacefully (The Benoit’s) -
Certainly don’t leave your kids in a hotel room.
NO - None of this makes sense.
Up the stakes in the game.
My issue is STIFFER LAWS for pedefiles.
After stiffer penelties my next priorities in life, are to keep a clean gun barrel, awareness of my surroundings and to make sure my wine is chilled and ready for HAPPY HOUR.

Marilyn Baxter, What do you think of Pauls comments? I agree they are guilty of neglect?? Would you , Marilyn…think of your career at a time like this????”Potential consequences” WOW! I would never have thought of that in a state of emotional grief….
Where is Madeleine????Who is doing anything about it????????
August 18th, 2007 at 3:19 pm
anonymous2u - you asked for my opinion of the McCanns. I have made it clear on these forums what I think, but for your benefit I will repeat a comment I made - with apologies to those who have already seen it. It was in answer to Carolynn, who had asked if I thought it was something to do with the parents:-
“Carolynn - no, I don’t think the parents are involved. Never have thought that. They are however guilty of neglect. No apologies to Jeeves and others who don’t like to hear it, but they are - pure and simple. Two 2 year olds and a 3 year old!! What was that I was saying earlier about common sense!?
When the dust has settled a bit, and whether or not Madeleine, or her body God forbid, is found, I think that the McCanns must be held to account for their neglect. I know they are in pain and are grieving in their loss, but that is after the event, and their emotional state should not be used by the authorities as a reason not to hold them accountable. When Madeleine was discovered missing, her parents instantly realised the potential consequences for them of what they had done. The possibility of their other two children being removed from them for a time and taken into temporary care, the possibility of both of them losing their entire careers, and therefore their reputations and their way of life - everything they have ever worked for. I don’t believe they are covering up anything sinister, they are simply engaged on an exercise to try to deflect attention away from their neglect of Madeleine and the twins, and to maintain their status quo.”
I’m off now for the rest of the day. Got work to do!!
August 18th, 2007 at 3:07 pm
Once again I say “who cares how the parents look” What have they done to find Madeleine?…We are all reacting to the press. Of whom the Mcann’s endorsed as there weapon of choice….Actually I like the way Kate looks perfect casual style, nice necklaces, good choice of earrings and perfect makeup. But who cares…There were many great opportunities to set into motion undercover investigation…Did they do that??? It was my “Naive” impression that we (the public)were only being fed bones and the real investigation was being conducted behind the scenes. Boy! was I wrong.
107 days later and we are back to square 1.
We can put a man on the moon…we can find terrorists who want to blow up airports…But we can’t find an innocent 4 year old girl..I repeat!Where is Madeleine and who is searching for her????

Ask Stella McCartney’s advice on how to dress?
This is what I read last week and I thought it was an unthinkable, mean prank.
McCanns Enlist Stella McCartney to Repair Image
By Biff Scuzzy
Aug 12, 2007, 14:07
Portugese police now believe Gerry McCann’s fashion sense may be dead already.
PRAIA DA LUZ, Portugal – The Portuguese press and the residents of this resort community have become more hostile toward Kate and Gerry McCann by the minute. Finally the couple has decided to fight back.
In an exclusive interview with THEM Weekly scheduled to hit the newsstands on Friday, Kate McCann revealed that she and her husband have contacted Stella McCartney and other top designers, asking them to help repair the McCanns’ tattered sartorial image.
“We are being pilloried by the press here for ‘the crime’ of appearing a trifle tatty,” said Kate McCann. “My god! Have these people no consideration? How would they look if they were searching night and day for their missing daughter?”
“Kate and Gerry are usually good dressers,” said a friend of the dowdy-looking couple, “but they’ve been too busy designing T-shirts, releasing balloons, planning rallies, and that sort of thing to pay much attention to their clothes.
“Instead of hinting that Kate and Gerry are under suspicion, the local police ought to realize that the fact that Kate and Gerry don’t always look their best in public is proof of their innocence.”
Nevertheless, the McCanns say they are “in discussions” with Ms. McCartney, whom they have asked for help in making them look more appealing to an increasingly skeptic press and public.
Can this couple be saved?
A spokeswoman for Ms. McCartney acknowledged that she had heard from the McCanns and was “weighing their appeal” that she donate her time and services to their cause.
“Stella realizes, however,” said the spokeswoman, “that there’s a fine line between looking casually smart and callously correct. If she makes Kate McCann look like Posh Spice, for example, the press are going to say that Kate ought to be spending lees time worrying about her clothes and more time trying to find her daughter.
“I’ll also let you in on a little secret,” the spokeswoman continued, “there really isn’t much anybody can do about Gerry McCann. He’s always going to look as if he’d be more comfortable wearing scrubs.”
August 18th, 2007 at 2:22 pm
Marilyn Baxter, would you have left your children alone in a hotel room in a foreign country ,doors unlocked. After being told by the management the hotel had robberies. I doubt you would have done that after what you went through. I guess the McCann’s were”nieve”…I would got to the ends of the earth to find my child…not ask Stella McCartney to give me advice on how to dress in front of the camera…..Once again we are discussing the “parents”.Where is Madeleine and who is doing anything about finding her?
August 18th, 2007 at 2:00 pm
Marilyn Baxter…Unlike the McCanns Their are many other ways to try and fight to get Madeleine back…They could have ran out of the apt looking for the culprit? THat is an emotioal reaction I could have understood..Like you they could have tried…they didn’t..I am not in judgement of their behavior…But their actions…YES! They are living in comfort “like celebrities” maybe they know something we don’t? Paul , Pat…Whats your opinion of the Mcanns? Lets hear it?
The IMPORTANT thing is:Is there anyone searching for Madeleine? The McCann’s have all the money in the world to find her. If they use it to that end.

Anonymous2u,
A nice trip to see the pope is NOT a pleasure in the face of tragedy.
As far as private jets.
They are a dime a dozen to some.
No private jet flies the same as no champagne tastes the same when you are in the throws of tragedy.
I’ve been all over Eurpoe for pleasure and I can assure you my daughter was not among the missing AT THAT TIME.
And as for the miss spelling. This is not a spelling Bee.
My daughter was snatched from me only a few feet away in a department store 30 years ago. I saw the sick - o “pedifile” running with my Michelle in tow and I
yelled and ran after him and the store security just HAPPENED to be in the area when he pushed my daughter away ( then 4 years old).
We rescued her (my mother and I) and he got away.
He was caught later we THINK as he fit the profile and tried the exact same attack on another child in the city that week.
So don’t tell me about conjured up degenerates - I have met one nightmare “degenerate” first hand.
Now - I do have Grand children - I carry a weapons permit and I would just love to blow just one sick-o pedefile to smitherines.
Be sure and check the spelling of smitherines.
It is where ALL of them belong.
I can truly say I have worn the shoes of the McCann’s to some degree for a short time.
Only difference in them and me right now - is I had a happy ending.
I am sorry if I have insulted you in any way. But I have a genuine interest in children and their safety and welfare.
I wish we could all do SOMETHING positive for the future of our precious youth.
