The Sun Shines On Madeleine McCann

madeleine-mccann-portugal.jpgMADELEINE McCann is still missing.

“WE HAVEN’T GOT A CLUE,” says the Sun’s front page. The paper quotes Chief Inspector Oligario Sousa: “We have examined many leads, but each has now been discontinued. Everything that we have looked at so far has been discounted.”

At least this is what Sousa is telling the Sun. The Portuguese police have not involved the British press in all aspects of the hunt for Madeleine McCann. Sousa is not a recognisable face to British readers and TV watchers from press conferences. The E-fit picture of Madeleine was not made available to the Sun.

So instead of the Sun saying how tireless Portuguese police work is, by a process of elimination, moving ever closer to solving the mystery, readers get an altogether less positive headline.

The message is that the Portuguese police haven’t a clue, and this despite the McCanns thanking them for their hard work. And this in light of what the Mirror calls an “official news blackout”.

madeleine-mccann-media.jpgWhat will get results is the Sun’s poster, which it tells us is “a big hit”. The poster is “flying around the globe”. Thanks to the Sun, 15,000 posters of Madeleine’s face were handed out at Saturday’s Celtic v Aberdeen football match.

“Maddie cops are back to square one,” says the Sun. Although they are not. The Portuguese police have ruled out suspects and possibilities.

But no matter, because the Sun will crack the case. Or at least spread the anxiety, remind people that a girl has gone missing and that it could have been your child.

But the Sun is not alone. Here’s Tony Parsons in the Mirror. He has lost sight of his child:

“My wife and my daughter were in the school changing room packing up the tutu after ballet. I was waiting right outside, kicking around a ball with the kid brother of one of my daughter’s friends. Eventually my wife came out alone. ‘Where is she?’ my wife asked. ‘Isn’t she with you?’ I said. And that’s how it happens.”

Parsons’ child was found in a classroom. She was “chilling out”. Nearly all children are found. The theft of a child is extremely rare.

Parsons is a victim of the anxiety of what is routinely called “every parent’s worst nightmare”, and he is helping to spread the virus of fear.

Meanwhile, away from Parson’s ballet trauma and a football match in Scotland, the Mirror leads with yet another picture of Madeleine McCann’s parents. More time for readers to see the strain “etched” on their faces. “PRAY FOR MADELEINE,” says the Mirror’s masthead.

There is no news of Madeleine McCann. But the papers continue to report without any need to inform or educate, to spread the fear and compete to show which of them cares the most…

Good morning, there appears to be a wish for things to happen here, rather more than is the actuality. It appears that the more respected Portuguese sources expect the case will remain unsolved, and no one will be charged. I was told that neglect charges are very hard to define and prove, also that the Prosecutor has previously said that they will not be brought.

The PJ will not give up
Look,Madeleine is reported “missing” by law because the PJ has not found her body.On account of this, the mccfools can well stay arguidos for the rest of their lives. It is a meagre compensation but still,a possibility.
Justice and truth for Madeleine will come.Nobody will give up.I am off to look up at news and all.See you in a while

Feel the same jo, and the PJ know too and are angry as well. This child has been gone a year. 5 years from now there will be the same questions answered and there will be answers IMO. Why are the McCanns the way they are. What have they to be scared about. Anyone else would be pushing for a reconstruction and would make sure they are there too. A lot more to this case than meets the eye.

    Surely they know.
Surely this is why they refuse to go back for a reconstruction
    Surely they are shit scare
Surely they will never find the poor child
    Surely,I am extremely pissed off

The parents may know what has happened to Madeleine and so do others IMHO. One day they will have the truth to face and if they have harmed this little child, surely when they pass over they will not be going to where Madeleine is!

Since it is deja vu time in the case before things start to heat up re: the reconstruction and the possibility of the PJ charging the McCann’s with Gross Neglect, I would like to mention another deja vu moment, seeing the SUN mentioned here today.

It was pure excitement when we saw the first photo of the Bagman, standing behind Gerry McCann at the OC playground. Kate had snapped the photo and Gerry used his connections with Gordon Brown to appeal to the PJ and get a photo out there of a possible suspect.

It was a rather fuzzy photo, certainly hard to make him out. But heappeared to be a white man, English possibly with a pointed chin and of normal build.

Reading that night at the Mirror Forum, we got word that the SUN was going to try and clean the pixels in the photo to make it more clear so we could see who he could be.

It didn’t take but a few hours, and soon their photo was ready and published the next day. We could not believe the difference, as it looked like a totally different person.

His head was almost a perfect oval with no pointy chin, his build was muscular and now we saw he was a black man, still English as several posters said they could tell. He was a somewhat ruddy everyday man, very organized with his bag over his shoulder, and we went to work trying to put a name to him.

The long and the short of it is the PJ talked to him and cleared him and we really learned quite a bit about him through a local poster who was associated with LE.

But what I have often thought about is the possibility the McCann’s released a fuzzy photo on purpose, never dreaming a professional photographer would clean it up. I bet they almost fainted the next day when they saw this man’s photo, which was now being seen across the world. IMO they were already learning how to schmooze us, as the photo Kate had taken had to have been doctored IMO.

I think if the case goes forward we will learn the Bagman was not involved in any way with the disappearance of Madeleine, but was staying at the OC and at the right place at the right time to possibly be a witness to what he saw on May 2nd and 3rd. It could be most interesting. All IMO

    Thanks for that SUN ;}

I could never understand why they left their children alone in the first place. I think thats the catalst here. Kate & Jerry will never forgive themselves no matter what. I feel sorry for all concerned. Its a very sad case indeed.

I am off. I think I would rather pull teeth than sit and surmise what happened to that poor child anymore. The whole “watching and speculating” is beginning to feel like those people who slow down to look at accidents at roadsides. Take care all.

What on earth is going on today at Anorak? Who are all these new posters? Is it because there is no news that everyone has changed their usernames and is going pro-mccann for a joke?

In the eyes of the world Kate and Jerry will carry the stigma of possible guilt, unless they can prove their innocence beyond a shadow of a doubt. This may not be possible if Maddie is not found either dead or alive. If the former, it will be a tragedy and if the latter then it will be justice. Personally, I do not think they are guilty, but we all must wait for a judge and jury to decide. As for Kate’s diary describing Maddie as being a difficult child, well then welcome to our big club of mother’s with the same problem. Frustration with you children does not make you want to medicate them or kill them.

    liz Says:

innocent until proven guilty and that is never going to happen, the police have obviously run out of ideas on what to do next, instead of harassing kate and gerry they should have been putting everything into finding little madeliene, there is a little girl out there appealing for there help and ours, keep looking everyone, and the only ones who will ever be guilty are those who didnt do enough.

    The parents are guilty!!!

to the sick individual gm and to diane ,jane your comments are as nasty as you are, you obviously dont have children in your lifes, if you did then how the hell would you feel if someone stole them from you, hopefully yous never have kids as you are not fit to be parents, and gm if this horrible situation ever happend to you how would you cope when sickos like yourself accused you of murdering your own kids, if you have a brain then think about that. i think that little madeliene s profile should be in the papers as most of the public are hopeing for any news, also think spain should be searched, the police in portugal have failed this we one they should have let the brittish police take over at least they wouldnt have ignored locked up buildings. the portugal police were far to slow to react.

We all need to help find Maddie. So any websits will do. But this one was way to long. Why can’t you just put them all in folders or something. I couldn’t be botherd to read it all if you want to know.

    Rob Says:

If I wasn’t laughing at you I’d be really upset pixie girl. Shut your own trap you immature twat.

Here’s hoping the events of the last few days have brought the case closer to it’s finale.

I guess most of it depends on the swiss paedo who topped himself and the guy who is critically ill in hospital, and also on the results of the bottle DNA test in Belgium. It’s all kicked off because British cops were called in. How the hell did the Portuguese miss the appartment blood?
