Madeleine McCann: Sergey Malinka And Robert Murat
MADELEINE McCann is still missing. And readers are introduced to Sergey Malinka.
In “RUSSIAN WEB GEEK QUIZZED”, the Mirror looks beyond Robert Murat and sees 22-year-old Malinka. His parents’ flat is two minutes walk from where Madeleine was stolen.
Malinka knows Murat, having helped him to set up a website. Malinka has a computer shop in the area. Setting up websites is what he does for a living.
The Mirror sees computer equipment being removed by police from the Malinka apartment. There is mention made of emails on his laptop from Murat, the “one-eyed Briton”.
Is this now a story that embraces paedophilia and the internet? Is this what the Mirror is hinting at?
Says Malinka: “It’s definitely not me. I’ve just had my residency papers approved and checks are always made for criminal convictions. I’ve none whatsoever. I did do some work for Robert. He wanted a website created and I got it together.”
But the Sun hears Portuguese TV report that Malinka has convictions for “sex crimes.” Does he have any criminal convictions? “Not as far as I know,” says Moscow-born Malinka.
And the Express sees more. It hears reports that “several links to paedophile sites, encrypted emails and messages” were found on three computers removed by police from Murat’s home. It hears of removed tapes featuring “depraved sexual acts” and bestiality.
And there‘s a cellar beneath Murat’s home. Or a “secret chamber”, as the Mirror has it. The Sun says this “void” measures nine yard by five yards. “I’m totally, totally innocent,” says Murat.
At Murat’s home, police are tearing down a garden shed. Police are searching a water tank. Police are demolishing an interior wall. From operating in secret, the Portuguese police are now making a lot of noise.
People are being questioned. This faces are being seen. Lives are being investigated.
And Madeleine McCann is still missing…

Are they getting help from British investigators who have experience in this kind of thing?
Perhaps they are on the right track but the papers, as usual, are just making it gut wrenching, sensational reading. God forbid if they are on a wild goose chase with this lot and wasting valuable time, energy and resources.

Yes, they are. British police are out there. But the seems to be lots of guess work going on… There can be no end of suspects.

have you noticed how every reporter from every newpaper / tv channel is claiming to have been the one to have expertly sussed out the one-eyed, secretive, lives with mummy, likes children, has a cellar Robert Murat? and of course he’s half Portugese / half Brit so that keeps everyone happy.
And since when did web-designers become creepy geeks?? though of course he is Russian…….
Such BAD reporting about such a horrendous occurence.
And when did the Brit police become the latest must-have for solving serious crime in a foreign country? They can’t solve it here………. Grrrrrrr.
Maybe Murat is the one, who knows? certainly not Sky et al.

This has now become very obvious. Someone, and I assume it was Murat or a person connected to the place had been watching the family and had seen they were too casual looking after their kids. A chance for an opportunist! She’s gone! Abducted! Taken away and now with a different family who has paid money! And the people the police have interviewed are involved but have covered their tracks. She is either dead because we are dealing with paedaphiles or , as I said, she has been bought just the same what happens to a lot of kids. A lesson! Your kids come first. 24hours a day, you cannot afford to leave them for one second!!!!

I totally agree with John Evans. I’m really sorry that Madeline was abducted, and always hoped she would be safely returned home to her parents, but as the case unravels, seems as if Murat/Malinka are both involved. Murat with links to paedophile sites on his pc and Malinka’s convictions for ’sex crimes’. They make a dodgy duo protesting their innocence. If Madeline has been murdered, there will be fury. I reckon they are both very clever criminals. Murat playing the role of ‘helper’ to see how the investigation is going covin order to cover his tracks if necessary…
I think the abdction of Madeline to another family who were desperate for a child is a wild goose chase. Who would want a child under such extreme pressure, with everyone on the lookout for her?
It is good that the media have pursued this case because it could have been neglected/forgotten about, plus it shows that there is still good in the majority of peoples’ hearts.
I do hope and pray that this case will have a happy outcome, but I would agree with Anorak saying that ‘lies are being investigated’.

I think it very wrong for anyone to comment on whether Robert Murat or Sergey Malinka had anything to do with little Madeline’s apparent abduction. Fact is she was left alone and so far that is the only FACT that exists. Portuguese police and their laws are very different to the UK so what gives the UK population the right to criticise their investigation. I take my hat off to the Police chief Olegario Sousa who has remained tightlipped onthe case, as frustrating it might be to the journalists. How many people have been convicted in the UK only to find out years later they were wrongly convicted. Shame on each and every one of you pointing the finger at those two men who so far….despite thorough searches being carried out have remained innocent. As for the reporters they are only trying to sell papers and remain earning big bucks….they don’t care of the outcome for anyone they target.

The statistics on child disappearances (in order of significance) seem to suggest:
1. As long as it is not a custody dispute (in which the father either kills self and children, or disappears with the children to try to establish a new identity) or a simple case of wandering child, the child is usually murdered within a few hours.
2. The mother’s boyfriend/de facto usually did it
3. One of the parents or a family member often did it.
4. A family friend, acquaintence or neighbour sometimes did it.
5. Some random, outside party may in very rare cases be involved.
I’m not sure about the international pedophile ring, even though the media love the notion. It has too much of that old urban myth about white slavers abducting girls in shopping centres/movie complexes- and can’t the pedophiles just go to one of the poorer nations and buy as many children as they want for a few dollars?

If Madeleine was abducted for a childless couple, they would have taken one of the younger twins instead-much easier to get away with and to conceal-this is surely linked to paedophiia

Did I hear incorrectly? Last week upon watching sky news from South Africa I remeber hearing that Morat had visited his estranged wifes house in the UK and had done some “gardening”. Does anyone have any info as to whether this is indeed true and what the British police have done about this if this is the case?

The Russian also phoned Robert Murat that night she went missing at 11:40.
Even though he says he spoke last to Murat a year before.
One can only hope a childless couple abducted her and not some sick individuals.
But I pray she get to feel the loving arms of her parents again.
