Madeleine McCann: Do You See The Light?
MADELEINE McCann is missing. Madeleine McCann is still missing.
But the papers have largely moved on. The Star leads with Liverpool and a reality TV singer in a bikini; the Mail and Mirror leads with Ibrahim Adam, Cerie Bullivant and Lamine Adam, three terror suspects on the run.
But above the picture of grief-wracked Liverpool football captain Steven Gerrard, the Sun remembers Madeleine. What news of the girl from the paper that cared enough to rename the missing girl “MADDIE”?
There is no news. But there is a picture of Madeleine’s mother. She’s in Fatima, the “world-famous holy shrine of miracles”.
“MUM IN PAINFUL VIGIL AT HOLY SITE,” says the Sun. “One kiss…1,000 payers.” And we are back to watching the parents. They share a “tender moment”. Mum carries a “yellow rose for Maddie”. “Silent pray,” says a caption beneath a picture of the parents at payer, “…they ask for daughter’s return.”
This is “tearful Kate McCann”. Her pain is evident. “Madeleine’s mum prays for a miracle,” says the Express, the only other paper to feature Madeleine McCann on its front page.
And it has news. Michaela Walczuch, the “German girlfriend” to prime suspect Robert Murat is being questioned by police. Her husband, one other point in what the Express calls a “bizarre love triangle” is also in interview.
They are questioned about their whereabouts on the night of Madeleine’s disappearance. Police want to know of their dealings with Murat. And then they are free to go and told they are no longer suspects.
Back in the Church. And the Express senses a development: “After Mass a streak of light shone through a stained glass window as the McCanns spent half and hour in private prayer at the chapel of Our Lady of Sorrows.”
And finally the police have a lead…

During this stresful time please remember that God does create miracles! When Elizabeth Smart was taken out of her bed in her families home months went by without a clue. Then after 9 months Elizabeth was found alive! Never give up hope & may God be with precious Madeleine & her family….

I tahnk God for the faith of Madelines parents. God is faith and just and operates in ways that we cannot fathom. I praise Him for this and pray for his love and comfort for Madelin and her family…nobody knows how they feel, no body cos each family and relationship are unique. I know that this little girl is so special to God Almighty and i know He will protect her. For those in relationship with the Lord rememeber His grace and strength and keep praying for his intervention. That is more powerful than wot many of us on our own can do. Pray until something happens. keep Madeline in your conversations just incase some one somewhere has managed to miss everything thats going on.
i find it amazing that the media can turn its attention back to the trash of whta the clebs are doing in such a horriffic time. Just check ourselves on whta we think is NEWS. Don’t say you can’t do anything cos you fund these people and by buying the papers and mags you are saying thats what you want to know about.

I think the parents should ask help from a Medium. Some difficult and painful situations, like lost persons, have been sucessful resolved in the past. We pray everyday, but praying its not enough and the pain still growing. A clue: http://www.allisondubois.com/ - she was recently in Oprah and seems a very sensitive and qualified person. Ive tried to send to “bring madeleine home” this message, but didnt know how. Please, if you can reach them, keep this sugestion in mind. Hope it can help, somehow. We`ll never forget you, Maddie! No, I do not see the light - at the moment I cannot see the wood for the trees. Maybe the McCann’s should employ the services of a medium, paid for by the ever-growing pot of money that has landed in their laps - Limited Company status I believe, not charitable. That’s if there’s enough left after Team McCann have completed Tour McCann. Oh and then there’s the book, the film, the T-shirts - call me cynical but wristbands have already gone on sale today and if any trader from Rothley is reading who happened to supply any of the 14 miles of yellow ribbon, did you give it free of charge? 14 miles of ribbon equals over 250,000 metres and at around 50p per metre, that’s about £125,000 - God bless you if you gave it away for nothing - you’ll soon be bankrupt

Smiting the army of paedophiles that evidently roam the planet? How anyone can believe in an Allmighty that allows such things to happen is beyond me. As for her parents spending hours in a shrine, well if that helps them cope then then that is a good thing, though I for one would be questioning my faith by now. But is it helping to find their daughter? I think not.

Yep, I have to agree with Ben, too. These kind of things sure bring the usual nutjobs out of the woodwork. I’m glad Mrs McCann’s Catholic faith has remained resolute throughout this ordeal (good for her), but so far The Almighty hasn’t exactly been forthcoming with any divine revelations as to where exactly her little girl might be…
I guess praying at shrines is comforting for some, but it might make more practical sense to divert such energies away from superstitious nonsense towards something more tangible like, erm, using some of that slush fund to employ some private investigators to fan out across Europe and North Africa… I happen to think there’s a good chance the little girl is alive and probably well. She just needs finding - not miracles.

I’m a Christian and believe that God does miracles. However, to expect God to cover up our blunders such as leaving children unattended for 30-60 mins is our fault, not His. I’m also a father and if my child had been abducted through my negligence then I’d own up to the fact and admit it to all and sundry. Even if it lead to me being charged and imprisoned. God gave us responsbility as parents, and if we mess it up then we’ve only got ourselves to blame. If I was travelling to this church and that to pray for help, I’d have my head bowed low in shame.
Perhaps the parents know they did wrong, but to cover it up launch the campaign to find Madeline–to ‘travel the world if necessary’. If they’d only allowed a babysitter to look after their children, or even if one parent child-minded while the other ate, none of this would have happened. If the meal-times were set, then wouldn’t have risked my kids all for the sake of a meal.
To answer the question ‘why does God allow such things to happen?’, the problem is everyone has freewill to do good or evil. Now, if He stopped every evil event, from the smallest (e.g lies) to the greatest (e.g murder), people would complain that they couldn’t exercise their freewill to choose. People reap what they sow. If they give grief to others, they reap it back. God will judge everyone of us for what we did, good or evil, that we did on the face of the earth.
Another thing is regarding paedophiles is, if the laws of the land/justice system/judges are too soft on paedos allowing them to wander here and there, no good blaming God for this. They all lack a ‘righteous indignation’ (fire in the belly kind of thing) to do the right thing. No, they and the ‘do-gooders’ think more of the criminal than the victim. I think a convicted paedo who has murdered a child should be given the death penalty; the ones who have abused a child should be locked up for life. They’ll never change. No, they’re released for ‘good behaviour’ and wander round taking photos of kids or videos, or re-offend. They shouldn’t be allowed to roam free. And what about the paedo websites? Shut them down!!! Get an expert hacker and hack them time and time again, every time a new one springs up. As Churchill once said, ‘Attack is the best form of defence’. Statistics show that child porn can lead to child abuse. Murat had links to paedo sites on his computer. A normal man will look at porn sites which feature women, but a man on the road to degradation will browse the paedo sites and be more likely to abuse/murder a child.
I reckon that Madeline has been murdered as it is 3 weeks now. At first I hoped that she had been abducted by a woman/couple who were desperate for a child, but to try and play ‘happy families’ with Madeline in the spotlight of the world’s media is ridiculous, plus neighbours would be on the lookout for the £2.6 million reward..you would think someone would have seen her and given concrete infomation to the police by now..
Best to pray that the truth will come out, that the abductors will be brought to justice, and that Madeline will be found, even if it’s to give closure to her family. But the fact is we can’t blame God when it’s our fault in the first place.

Sorry Phil Ive missed something here, Robert Murat had links to ‘paedo’ sites on his computer? Just where did you get this information? As for your tirade on paedophiles; they don’t lurk on every street corner, the majority of abuse is carried out by family members or friends/aquaintances of the family. Oh yes I forgot, the Catholic Church hardly have an unblemished record when it comes to child abuse do they?

Ugh. Is Jane the only person with sense here? Almost all child abuse/murder is carried out by someone the child knows. In the vast majority of cases it’s someone from the immediate family. There is no ‘roaming band of paedophiles’. Even if there was, there’s a big difference between a paedophile and a child molester. Paedophilia is an attraction to prepubescents, that isn’t a crime. It’s molestation which is an offence. Calling all child molesters paedophiles is like referring to any man attracted to women as a rapist.
Secondly, offending rates are not going up, they’re stable. Abduction/molestation by strangers is so rare that it’s barely statistically significant. Obviously the chances are greatly increased if say.. your kids are left alone in a foreign country *cough*
Finally, spare a thought for the families left stranded in camps in Darfur. Saw on the news today that aid money has all run out, and food supplies are dwindling due to lack of resources. We should stop diverting funds and ,media coverage toward this dead, blonde kid, and focus on the thousands of people whose lives could be changed with the money.

This girl will be found and i do not beleive she was taken by a paedophile. I do not know why i feel this as i did in the beginning I just have a feeling she is alive.
I got thinking the other day remember that girl who had escaped a few months ago a dutch girl i think but she had been locked away in a hideway under the house away from everybody. I feel that madeleine is still in portugal not far awayfrom her abduction the police should be searching every apartment. God knows why they havnt even her parents. I reakon that before that they even go touring over europe raising there childs profile they should think about searching a bit closer to home.

i did not believe in god til last yr when my dad nearly died he was on life support for 5 months he had septisemia and the doctors were at a total loss of where it had come from therefore were failing to get it out of my dads system but my mum who ir religious always preyed and so did her friends around the world my dad recovered the doctors said hes a medical mystery and are still clueless despite there outstanding efforts, this has given me faith i would not say im very reigious but i do believe if we all prey for madeline it gives hope

There is something very, very disturbing about this case, and there are so many inconsistencies. It all feels very wrong, and the McCanns are acting like no other couple of a missing/abducted/disappeared child have ever acted before. My gut instinct tells me that they are creating a huge smokescreen to cover up something that they dare not reveal.
Why aren’t the British police over in Portugal strenuously questioning these parents. This is a British child and the British authorities can clearly be seen to be doing - nothing! Why haven’t Social Services got themselves involved in what is a very clear case of parental neglect? Three children, all under four years of age, left alone for God’s sake!!! Left alone every night of the McCann’s stay at the resort.
The papers, the TV news, and a large mass of the public say they made a terrible mistake, and they are paying the price for it.
A MISTAKE?! Have people taken leave of their senses?
And no, it is their daughter who is paying the price, or who has paid the ultimate price.

I really feel for the McCanns, it must be a parents worst nightmare going through this, and for some people to bitch about what they are doing to try to keep this in the public eye. I think any parent in there position do not deserve this. And I cannot beleive that edwina thinks they are creating a big smokescreen, this is appalling but I suppose everyones entitled to their opinion, however ludricous. Im a parent and like most other parents (EXCLUDING EDWINA) have made mistakes. I admire Gerry and Kate and how they are coping through this living hell. I hope and pray that maddie is soon home with her family.
