I think it’s pretty funny that the people objecting the most strenuously to even the possibility of a stereotypical comment towards their hero are the same folks who write things like “old white men”. And who characterize half of the nation as “Repugs”, who are all, of course, rich white businessmen, who also happen to be uneducated, gun-toting, bible-spewing rednecks.

Buddy: Are you aware that George W. Bush has been compared to a chimp for the past eight years? I admit that he does resemble a chimp a bit, but you can’t have your cake and eat it too! Just because a black/ape stereotype exists doesn’t mean that Obama should get a free pass from being ridiculed. He’s running for president of the U.S. for crying out loud! Besides, Curious George is only a cartoon character, not a real monkey. And, I have heard people of several races being called a monkey on TV, especially non-black athletes during sporting events. That’s fine, but it has to go both ways. Especially since many blacks are indeed ape-like in appearance, especially compared to other ethnicities. PC rules cater to blacks and shit on everyone else. You can say white trash, chink, Jew, kike, beaner, spic, chink, jap, and wop on regular TV, but you can’t say nigger. There is something fundamentally wrong with that. It’s just ridiculous!

Im not a racist I dont hate anyone, you maybe quite right in saying Im an asshole I just see it as I am very honest. I may dislike some people but not as a whole race, and yeah alot of the people I dont like are white also! I have black friends, LOVE them to death and wouldnt trade them for anything . . . but they donnot harp over all the things in the past . . . I just DO NOT like peolpe that whine!!! I just dont see the point in getting all worked up over what people we dont even know did . . . it has absolutly nothing to do with anyone living in 2008 so can we please take a step into the present and go on about our lives!!!!

Yes, I have several friends, Marine’s mostly, over in Iraq.
I tried to enlist in the Army back in 2003, I’m prior Navy, but I was too old by about a year-and-a-half. Bummer.
They have volunteered to go back again and again. That’s a Marine for you.

In regards to the war in Iraq;
Screw ‘em! They’ve had it coming for years. I only wish we would have used tactical nukes to save some of our troops lives. Furthermore, anyone who thinks that we weren’t going into Iraq to oust Saddam sooner or later is delusional and I’d like to sell you some lake front property in downtown Dallas. I hope we stay in Iraq forever. It’s a lovely place. Besides, I want those filthy Iraqis to start coughing up some of that “Texas Tea” for repayment on their war debt. They owe us, big time!

After reading all the comments I just have to laugh and shake my head. I am a black woman with two children who both have the same father. I own several houses, hold a pretty big position at my job, and I’m educated. Do I get treated equally by whites wherever I go, no. Do I experience racism in my life, yes. But I do not teach my children to hate whites or anyone else.
Yes there are a lot of opportunities given to blacks. Do they all deserve them, maybe not. But there are whites that are given opportunities also but do they deserve, not always.
We all discrimate whether it’s by race, social class, or intelligence. To all the white people that feel blacks should get over the racism thing, easier said than done. We probably could but you have some idiot that won’t let us. We will never be united, racisim will always be here, blacks will always be at the bottom and that’s just the way it is. Now, there are moments when blacks embarass me but I’m sure there are moments when whites embarass other whites. I’m not that old but in my short life time I have realized that every race hates blacks for whatever reason and blacks hate all of them. Sometimes it’s wrong but most of the times it’s justified.
We ALL need to get over it and accept this country for what it really is - racially divided.

Who knows what Obama will do, who new we would be at war with Irac? I know what Obama is talking about doing. I am not for him because he is African American, I am for him because he is speaking on change for all races. Why not give Obama a chance to do what all Presidents of the United states do,either screw it up or actually change things. Obama being president does not mean life will be easier for African Americans, I have control of my life, I can make it easy or hard on myself, depending on how I deal with, what ever society bring my way. I believe change is passed on from generation to generation. If I teach my children to hate then they will hate, if I teach my children how to be rational and ethical, they will be rational and ethical. I favor Obama because he has not pull ed the race card everytime he has defended himself, according to Obama he is focused on change for all America. One race attacking the other race should be a thing of the past. One nation under god ,not one race under god. Keeping it real, we will always have hate in the United States but, how you deal with hate, make the diffrence.

Whites create hostile environments but the anger between the two are equal. Some whites helped fight for African American rights but have you ever had to fight for your right as a white person to sit in the front of a bus or to vote, to drink from a water fountain. Did you have to be in the house at a certain time or you will find yourself hanging from a tree? No white man, you have not. For these reasons and many more, white people, back off because we will fight back. As for opportunity, yes we have been given the opportunity to suceed and you have African Americans that took advantage of the opportunity and you have those that did not. Why some African Americans did not take advantage of the opportunity could be ten to thousands of reasons just like,all white’s do not take advantage of opportunities that are given to them as well. There are whites that live just as bad if not worse then African Americans what is there excuse? Tex, all races are struggling even the white race and that is why I do not understand why you white people attack African American’s when we come up. I have meet angry white men and women that have attacked me because of my skin color . Tex, the attacks take place against in all races now day’s. My point is white people stop attacking African American’s, creating a hostile environment. You white people have ran the country for so long , look at it. We still have racisum, We allow hate crime to continue, your white KKK is still in existance, we have white on white crime as well as black on black crime but you white people are still focused on attacking African Americans. You can’t deny that blacks have been given every opportunity that a country can possibly afford to give a people that were wrongly enslaved the opportunity to succeed. Can you explain to me then why the black population, for the most part, has continued to struggle, why so many black women have so many babies by so many different fathers only to have the father leave and have the children raised in poverty. So what if the same comment was said about Bush. George Bush is a white man he did not have to endure being hung from trees and treated like an animal by the white man. Hell his ancestors where doing the hanging. You people make these comments yet you have not had to fight for your rights. You could always drink from any water fountain, you could always sit anywhere on the bus. White people ,you have not had to fight for much at all but ,here we are in 2008 and we are still having to fight for the right to be equal and not discriminated against. Ashley, all I can say to your reply is that I can’t wait until the day that Hispanics are the majority in America. I can also take advantage of affirmative action and the MANY other minority-oriented government programs. I might even apply to dental school and actually get it.

Just as I don’t think anyone believes that ALL blacks teach their kids to be racists. That is really a far fetched statement as well as the rest of your comments. Hispanics are not coming, they are already here as well as many other cultures. We live in a diverse America. I embrace it and love it. I have friends of all various cultures and live in a multi-cultural neighborhood. It’s time for us to stop all of this illogical nonsense, try understanding each other and work together.

Whites have tried for generations to teach their children to not be racist. Blacks? Not so much. This is evident in our school system and everywhere you go in America.
If you’re a white kid, try walking down a hallway at school where a bunch of blacks are congregated. What do think will happen? Will they engage in intelligent conversation? exchange pleasantries? More likely the White kid will get the crap beat out of him, harassed at best.
Furthermore, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen a nice store or park go up in a black neighborhood only to have it trashed by black not even a year later.
The blacks should take head; the Hispanics are coming. The race card doesn’t play so well with them. Time to get a backbone, a job, a clue and stop crying about everything that “offends” you!

I am only speaking of the white race that behave in an ignorent manner, such as the resturant owner with the Monkey T-Shirt. I know all whites do not behave this way. I also believe that there are some white’s that would like to express the same thing but, can not because of the position they hold. The resturant owner felt like what he did was alright, this guy is a resturant owner , He had to have known that this would start a racial outbreak. This white man felt his skin color would justify his ignorence as well as that crap about, this was not a racial attack. It is, what it is , a racial attack. There is so much pressure on African American men to be role models for our younger African American male’s and then, here comes the white man , setting an example for the younger white male’s that, it is okay to attack the African American race mentally , physically and or ,Politically. In respond to these attack’s ,the African American is labeled ,agressive and out of control. If whites would stop creating a hostile environment we would be okay. Barak Obama should not be attacked because some white’s are afraid that we may have an African American as president. If you take a look at African American history, both politically and non-politically, African American’s do not go around starting racial wars unless a wrong is being done to the African American race. White people, stop your madness, if you are going to continue to throw stones , please expect them to be thrown back at you. I suggest that you move out of the way if an African American is throwing the stone because, an African American aim is a little more accurate these days, they will ,get their point across, for example, keep watching Barak ,our future President.

Africa, all white people are not this way. I know at times when incidents like this happen, some minorities may start to view White Americans in this manner. However, everyone doesn’t think like this.
