Vote Barack Obama Because He Was Born On An Island
BARACK Obama was born on an island. He’s one of us, Britishers! Vote Obama!
But Obama can’t be leader of the UK - well, not in name, only in spirit (unless we can be the 51st state of the USA?) - but he can be leader of his fellow island peoples: the Puerto Ricans:
Hillary Clinton was born on the mainland. More people live there. She might win…
As Tony said, or someone:
No man is an Island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the Continent, a part of the main; if a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as well as if a manor of thy friends or of thine own were; any man’s death diminishes me, because I am involved in Mankind; And therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; It tolls for thee.

I only recognize the last 15 words.
It’s John Donne.
Probably his worst piece of prose ever.
How come it’s so widely quoted?
Ask not for whom the belt holes!
