Blithering Stupidity From Vince Cable

STUPID!

Vince Cable, the Liberal Democrat Business Secretary, has agreed to a controversial European directive to give agency workers the same rights as full-time employees of British companies.

An analysis of the new laws by the Department for Business discloses that it will cost firms more than £1.8 billion a year, leading to warnings from major employers that they will have to cut jobs.

It’s blithering stupidity on two counts.

Tory Blog Says Muggers Are Gypsies Trying To Be Black

THE right-wing London Spin blog recalls the following event:

A MEMBER of Conservative Future, the youth wing of the the Tory Party, has been mugged by a cunning gang of gypsies at a Posh Chelsea watering hole, London Spin can reveal. The victim was attending a secret strategy dinner discussing campaign planning with another female attendee when he was approached by the gang. The fraudsters were trying to flog a fake pearl necklace and aggressively asked for the victim’s female companion to ‘try on’ the dodgy gems.

After a stern exchange, the con artists fled the scene, and five minutes later the activist discovered his £200 iPhone was missing from the table. Speaking exclusively to London Spin, he said: “They came over to our table offering the dodgy necklace, which we didn’t want to buy. They were quite pushy about it and on reflection it was clearly a cunning plan to distract our attention while they swiped my mobile. It was a very slick operation; I suspected they’d used some kind of ancient gypsy magic on me.”

The activist was so angry he alerted cops.

Gold Guns And James Bond Fantasies: Photos From Inside Gaddafi’s Tripoli Compound

PHOTOS of the rebels in inside Colonel Gaddafi’s Tripoli compound reveal something about the despot’s life and living standards. He liked gold. All despots like gold. It’s in The Despot’s Handbook, between “girls” and “guns”. Gaddafi had no golden girl but he did have a golden gun. Like most priapic men, he fancied himself as a James Bond type. Want to look around..?

Obama Is As Big A Golfing Idiot As George Bush: Now Watch This Putt

WHEN the Virginia Earthquake struck, Barack Obama was playing golf. (His Deputy, Joe Biden, was in Japan…talking about that country’s recent earthquake.)

Politico’s Carrie Budoff Brown was in the press pool watching Obama at play:

The pool was ushered onto the fairway of first hole, where the presidential party had already reached the putting green. The pool was kept several hundred feet away, well outside shouting distance.

The pool was, however, able to see the president putting moves, albeit from a distance.

From our vantage point, this is the play by play: He stepped up to his ball, which was several feet from the hole, and made two practice strokes. He missed the hole on his first putt, but got it close. He then tried to tap it in, but missed again. He appeared to pick up the ball to let the others in his party play through as he watched.

DOMINIQUE Strauss-Khan is all set to walk free. Nafissatou Diallo says the former head of the IMF raped her. He denies it. He says the sex with the hotel maid was consensual. The law says she is an unreliable witness. But what you might not know is that at the $3,000-a-night Sofitel suite where the alleged rape took place, detectives discovered the semen of between four and seven other men.

Three of the other stains on the carpet contained the semen and DNA of three different unknown males, and one other stain contained amylase and a mixture of DNA from three additional unknown individuals. The stain on the wallpaper contained the semen and DNA of a fourth unknown male.

An orgy?

Martin Luther King Statue Is A Tribute To Star Trek Under Communism

THE new memorial statue to Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial is up and ready to be seen on the National Mall in Washington Sunday, Aug., 21, 2011. The memorial to the late civil rights leader is…huge, ugly and portrays the man of peace as an aggressive estate agent bidding for a property at auction. Better yet the American hero is made by Chinese artist Lei Yixin out of white Chinese granite. King is walking backwards into a big rock because he once said:

“With this faith we will be able to hew out of the mountain of despair a stone of hope.”

Joe Biden Takes His Granddaughter To Feed The Ducks In Mongolia: Photos

JOE Biden, the Deputy leader of the US Barack Obama uses for entertainment purposes, is in Mongolia. There he met with Mongolian Prime Minister Sukhbaatar Batbold and watched the Mini Nadam or Mongolian wrestling performance in Ulan Bator from the same vantage point from which a gopher watches golf. But Obama’s warm-up man achieved something notable when the doors to his plane opened and revealed that he was being accompanied by his granddaughter Naomi Biden. What Naomi doesn’t know about the Mongolian economy and feeding ducks in the park is not worth knowing…

DAVID Cameron has decided against heading back to Italy for the rest of his summer holidays and opted instead to spend a few days in Port Isaac, Cornwall. Harriet Harman And Alastair Campbell’s Labour Party Working Son Calum Star In Equality Masterclass

HARRIET Harman, Deputy leader of Labour Party, and champion of equality (for everyone else) is now on the same team as Calum Campbell. Young Calum is, reportedly, the 22-year-old member of the Labour Party’s fundraising team. His dad is called Alsitair Campbell. You may recall Harman upbraiding Nick Clegg – whose got a job in baking partly though his dad’s connections – for nepotism and how all the best jobs go to sons and daughters of the elite:

I am afraid that the Deputy Prime Minister gave up the right to pontificate on social mobility… When I heard that he was going to launch a commission on social mobility, I thought that it was April Fools day. In just 10 months this Tory-led Government have launched an assault on opportunities for young people, especially the poorest….

For many young people, mobility now means a bus down to the jobcentre…

Next he will be foxtrotting down to the Tory party’s fundraising ball, auctioning City internships for the children of the highest bidder. Is that not the Government’s idea of social mobility? We have further to go, but they are turning the clock back… He may be a man on a mission, but with him at the helm, it is mission impossible.

Nick Clegg’s Arson And Criminal Past Never Did Him Any Harm In Cameron’s Bullingdon Britain

NICK Clegg warned of riots if the Conservatives got in to power. Or promised. You see, although Nick was never invited to join the Bullingdon club, he did possess much of the criteria to get in. When he was 16 and a public schoolboy overseas, Clegg engaged in a spot of arson.

“Yeah… I, erm, I was at a party and I drifted into a greenhouse with a friend, saw it was full of cacti and lit a match to find our way, as there were no lights on. The flame accidentally touched one of the cacti, which glowed rather beautifully. We did that to a fair number of the cacti… We didn’t know what we were doing. We were teenagers, we’d drunk too much – frankly, we did behave appallingly, irresponsibly, criminally. Next morning, one of the organisers of the exchange rang me up and said, ‘We know you did this.’ I came clean.”

John Prescott Cheers His Role In ‘7/11’ And The Asian Tsunami While Applying Double Standards To David Cameron

JOHN Prescott is a ubiquitous presence on the telly. Recently the walking Spitting Image puppet was talking about how terrible it as that David Cameron was on holiday in Italy when the riots broke out. He was recently talking to Mariella Frostrup on the BBC’s morning sofa:

LORD PRESCOTT: “It’s unbelievable. Look, when every August for ten years … People think August is a quiet time. It isn’t. I had the tsunami, I had the Omagh bombing, I had terrorist attacks – the 7/11. All those occurred on my watch, right, and you have to deal with them.”

That would be a tsunami in Indonesia and 7/11, a melange of atrocities that John can recall in just two number.

Hazel Blears Does Not Steal TVs From Comet: She Buys Them And Gives The Taxpayer The Bill

WANT to know why the middle classes are cynical and the rioting youth greedy, vicious, selfish, fit and stupid? Ideas below, please. Meanwhile Salford and Eccles Labour MP tells media:

“In the past we have had anti-social behaviour out of control, but we got a grip of that and this behaviour is just mindless and pointless. The vast majority of people are great citizens in Salford and Eccles.”

Tsk! Theft of tellies and stuff is wrong.

And who is Hazel Blears? Well:

Miss Blears, who as Communities Secretary is responsible for housing policy, also spent time in one of London’s most fashionable hotels paid for from public funds. In March, 2004, Miss Blears stated that her second home was the property she owned in her Salford constituency. During that month she bought an £850 television set and video recorder from Selfridges, and a £651 mattress from Marks & Spencer.
