Big Brother’s Emily Parr On ‘Fat Niggers’ And ‘Pakis’
BIG Brother Emily Parr has been “DISOWNED” on the Mirror’s front page.
Inside Emily’s uncle James Coughlin says Emily’s use of the world “nigger” in the presence of Charley Uchea is “Disgusting”.
It is disrespectful. In the parlance of the street – although not one Emily has ever visited - Emily has dissed Charley, the greater Parr family and the Mirror, for whom the word is so awful it is produced as “n****r”.
“It’s a friendly term,” says Emily, Big Brother’s white bitch ho, “you know, making fun of people, being in a group. I would never use any offensive words like that, you know? I’m a kind girl, I’ve got a big heart for everybody.” As the Star’s front page says: “EMILY: I’M NO BIG BROTHER RACIST.”
Emily should stop there before she tells us that it’s only thanks to her innate sense of middle-class mores and suburban values that she’s able to tolerate black people like Charley and not burn them in their beds.
Back in the Mirror and BBC radio presenter DJ Spoony, a man of colour, is telling Mirror readers that no-one should use the “N-“WORD”.
Over in the Sun, former Big Brother housemate Derek Laud, an IC3 male, says that Emily’s use of the word “n*****” risks offending many good British men and women”.
Good people don’t say the word nigger, says Derek. Only bad people do. Emily is bad, and not in a 1980s street Michael Jackson way.
And Big Brother is good, on the side of the Shilpas. As the Mail’s headline says: “We will not tolerate any Big Brother racism says Channel 4. (But we’ll show it if it pulls in the viewers.)”
And if it sells papers. It really is that cynical. Shock sells. And as we have seen with the Princess Diana documentary, Channel 4 loves to shock.
Back in the Sun and readers hear from Stacey Jones, who went to college with Emily. “We all knew her racist side would come out on TV,” says Stacey, willing to deliver her Cannonball Special to add more pain to Emily, who is said to be “beyond gutted”.
“She hates ethnic minorities and fat people,” says Stacey. We learn that Emily once called a black girl a “fat n*****” who should “go work at KFC”.
(Notice how the Sun has replaced another letter of nigger with a star. It won’t be long before the word disappears completely.)
“There was one girl called Gloria and Emily used to call her fat n***** behind her back,” says Stacey. And Nathan Patel says that when he began dating one of Emily’s friends he heard Emily refer to him as a “P**I” or a “****”.
Meanwhile, Emily, who gave herself a 10 out of 10 for intelligence is holed up in hotel wondering where she goes from here.
And wondering how to get hold of Jo O’Meara. And whether she can be the new Jade Goody the gossip sheets crave…

im glad she was removed she was sooooooooo annoying!!
she didnt say it nastily or aggressively but its not something u just say, so casually and dont care about saying it (well if u have a brain!)
it was wrong, i DESPSISE the N word and im glad BB acted so quickly.
adios emily! shame on u! mwah hah hah!

Why did BIG Brother take seven hours to act on Emily?
June 8th, 2007 at 10:22 am
I’m surprised that the number of ‘f’ words used by Charley et al doesn’t get counted…. the apparent lack of vocabulary of most of the housemates if astounding. No ability to string a sentence together without using expletives should preclude admission in the first place.

Have a look at Emily’s blog.

well well trust her enemies to jump on her as soon as she made a mistake. She is only a girl of 19 and as usual the press, media, vultures are using it as excuse to make them selfs look special and heroic in the eyes of the public and hide there own past remarks and shame involving racial slursand race hate . Emily admited she said the wrong thing at the wrong time and definantly in the wrong place!!. But should a young women who in my opinion is not well educated in social skills especially the ones you need now to be on the televison should be condemed as a racist or even a bad person certainly not!!. the N word has been frequently said many times on every channel for years now. This is Jade goodeys fault and chanel 4,s not emilys and the public i hope will understand this

The word nigger which appears in the Oxford Concise english dictionary as a black person/person of colour/annoyance or hindrance is a legitimate part of language and was not in this case used offensively. The fact that Charley was not offended is an indicator of how acceptable this word has become. Flick onto channel 4 when its broadcasting a music channel and you will hear the ‘n word’ used repeatedly glamourousising its use.
Channel 4 have acted irrespondsibly by removing a well educated and fairly average girl from the house. This is a perfect example of propaganda..in evicting Emily they are cleansing their souls for the recent fiasco. What they fail to realise is that they are exacerbating the issue.
Big Brother began as a social experiment to see how the behaviour and attitudes of individuals changed while confined to a controlled space, and in todays melting pot of race the use of colloquial is common place in many areas of the country, thus a reflection of society. All Emily highlighted was the blurring of racial boundaries and how mainstream culture has accepted certain terms as inoffensive as passive. T
The fact that she is white, middle class and using the word nigger is more of an issue to Channel 4, if fact other black contestants have used the word repeatedly (think back to the days of the Jungle cats and the expolsive arguments)
The reaction of Charley was not one of offence but shock that anyone could be foolish enough to introduce racism in the current climate of BB. Emily should have been asked to explain her comment and reprimanded by the other housemates. Plenty of offensive language is used inside that house, BB need to draw the line on bullying of all descriptions, race isn’t the issue, unless we want to make it an issue

Another sad & desperate attempt by Channel 4 to save their tarnished image.
If they found the use of the N word by Emily so offensive why did they decide to air it & broadcast in advance to the media?
I guess the viewing figures for this Freak-show aren’t so great & C4 will use any means to revive this dead horse.
Of course the N word is vile, but so was Charley’s response…at first she was cool about Emily & used it herself (several times) before the penny dropped & she realised she could capitalise on Emily’s stupidity.

It will take many generations to oust racism completely. What is so annoying is that the current focus is always one sided unbalanced and very little is done, said and written if it were on the other foot. In other words reverse racism tends always to be ignored and a blind eye turned, but when it comes from a person like Emily and previously Jade then all hell breaks loose. Let us all hope that if the opposite race says something which is tainted sligtly with racism, then Channel 4 will act as quickly and desicively.

Although initially shocked at the n word, I have been told by local Bristol & Bath teenagers that the word is commonly used in the Bristol/Bath area as a term for a mate, ‘how r u nigger’, like the word brother. It is very commonly used mate to mate, but Emily should have been more aware of the potential misunderstanding. I believe that she wasn’t actually being racist, was just a little stupid to say it on telly, and that Channel 4 had little option, but to evict after the previous racial incident on the last show. But didn’t Charlie make the most of it - am I bothered? No but…..Yeh but……
June 8th, 2007 at 11:14 am
I completely agree, while Emilys comment was very unfortunate I think channel four are just using her as a scapegoat. Also, the fact that people who apparently went to college with her are happy to tell the papers how apparently racist she is and document specific comments she has said (and the papers are quite willing to print) is truly disgusting. She clearly didn’t make the comments in a malicious way and these people are clearly cashing in on her demise. She is only 19 years old and being made to bare the brunt of the sheer racial hypocrisy prevalent in this country.
June 8th, 2007 at 11:15 am
What a fucking bitch, i cannot stand her, i am white and find that word highly offensive when are people going to wise up and realise that colour is not an issue any more and those such as Emily are the issue and should be chucked out of the country black white, yellow whatever colour we are is just a skin whats underneath is all the same!!!!!!!!!!!!! simple
June 8th, 2007 at 11:34 am
Just a slight over reaction there, Suzanne!!
This whole sorry business has been jumped on by the usual bunch of PC Liberals, who seem to relentlessly rage on about anything people say or do these days…1984 is finally with us, it appears & the Thought Police have arrived.
Emily was merely a silly girl, not some Combat 18 member.
Frankly I was more offended at Charley’s cynical manipulation of her outburst. Odd that C4 didn’t boot her out too for repeating the N word.
June 8th, 2007 at 11:35 am
Listen to radio 1 at 9pm on Fri / Sat and you will hear this word 100 times from Westwood who is white, whether saying it, or playing sogs with it in. No wonder the poor girl is confused
June 8th, 2007 at 11:36 am
i dont think emily meant it in a bad way, she shouldn’t have said it but charley loved the way she knew she was going to get in trouble, cos she never shut up about it!!
June 8th, 2007 at 11:57 am
Westwood is a twat, i dont believe anyone takes him seriously
All i can say to Emily is you in trouble Cracker
The world has gone insane with all this Political Correctness
You cant sing Bah Bah Black Sheep in the UK anymore, why? Black is a color, you get Black Sheep, where is the problem? some idiot decided it was racist, they are the problem.
to be honest Big Brother couldnt do anything else but chuck Emily out, especially since it was dragged out by Charley, they mayeb could have gotten away with 5mins of dead air but not hours, people would have kown something had happened.
She deserved it in a way for being as lame to try and copy idiots like westwood who try and be like the afro-americans gansta’s. Poor.
June 8th, 2007 at 11:59 am
Utterly ridiculous! What can Channel 4 expect if they put people together with limited vocabulary? I’m surprised no-one in the house has punched Charley on the nose for being such a trouble maker. This is clearly the reaction she’s been aiming for, from anyone, and it just happened to be poor Emily. Charley is now milking it for everything she can get. I’ve only watched the programme twice, and it took less than 5 minutes to work out her game plan. Channel 4 should have learnt from the last episode, or do they, like Charley, have a game plan?
June 8th, 2007 at 12:03 pm
As a response to those asking why Channel 4 Aired it
I think it was to try and help Emily
If they didnt Air it all anyone would know is that Emily was removed from the House for calling someone the N word. This would be left to the viewers imagination and could have turned out worse for Emily
Atleast with it being Aired the viewing public can see first hand no real offense was meant by it and Emily isnt a Racist or atleast didnt mean to be racistson this occasion.
June 8th, 2007 at 12:05 pm
The general public are clearly a bunch of wankers. For god sake, charley can walk around saying it all she wants cus shes black, but as soon as a white person says it in exactly the same manner its a national problem. for fuck sake grow up. So what if it WAS a term involved with slavery, it’s not now. Its now a term of brotherhood, if she was wearing a flat peak hat, baggy jeans, and look like a white rapper, then no one would have even cared.
Just because shes got £4,000 teeth she can’t try and bond by using a common word used by youngsters. alot has changed for youths in the last 5 years, being someone the same age as her, and also from bristol i should know, there is no longer a taboo of anysort, unless your a loser….
June 8th, 2007 at 12:05 pm
Utterly ridiculous! What do Channel 4 expect if they put people together with a limited vocabulary? I’m surprised no-one has punched Charley on the nose for being such a mischief maker. This is clearly the reaction she’s been aiming for all along and is now milking it for everything she can. I’ve only watched the programme twice but it took less than 5 minutes to work out Charley’s game plan. Channel 4 should have learnt from the last episode. Or do they, like Charley, have a game plan? Emily is just an attractive, stupid, young girl, but she is not a racist.

Reading white people’s comments which say can’t see why black people are offended by the word n**** is just bizarre.
June 8th, 2007 at 12:19 pm
Hahahahahahahaha
June 8th, 2007 at 12:20 pm
Did someone drop bombs on a small country? no. how about carry out arms deals with a dictator? no. sign a contract to employ 3000 free trade workers in a 3rd world country? no. no. no. a 19 year old girl said ‘nigger’. big deal.
the only thing disgusting is the level of political correctness that people feel they have to ‘adhere’ to, in order to fit into society, the comments were clearly not racist, but as a bonding between friends.
It appears racism in our current white oppression is the worst thing you can do, i am convinced murdering someone would draw less attention than being ‘racist’.
Scapegoating these silly young girls for a problem society struggles to deal with, is for me an easy way to push the real cultural integration issues under the carpet.
Another angle that is never explored, due to the neo-populist approach for which the white culture is always openly critised, is the racist attacks on white people or any mention of racist comments between the same race. Due to the fact that white people have openly oppressed an entire selection of races from the beginning of time, make it obvious that they feel a little uneasy the shoe is on the other foot, however, this does not mean the white people should be abused or excused from racism.
Sadly a young girl has her life tarnished by the brush of political correctness, i think its up to the people to employ much more thought and sincerity into their actions and differentiate the importance of these incidents.

Truly fab darkman….what we need now…a bit of lightweight humour!
btw is it just me or does anyone else think Charley dresses like a prostitute?
June 8th, 2007 at 12:27 pm
I really hope Emily Parr kills herself. She should realise that she’s blown her big chance and just end her own life.
June 8th, 2007 at 12:28 pm
She gave her Dad a blowjob when she was 13. It was her idea but he didn’t really try to stop her.
June 8th, 2007 at 12:29 pm
Get over itttt, the slave trade happened and its over now. Every nation has been oppressed at some point. we were over run by the romans for years and years, but we don’t hate italians. Just because were different colours doesn’t make us any different, its black people who keep up the opression by going on about the opression, if you just stopped, you’d realise people arn’t even racist towards black people any more! everyone just hates muslims cus your all fucking stupid sheep!
June 8th, 2007 at 12:36 pm
