Prince Charles Corks His Aston Martin
PRINCe Charles is green - he’s Brtish racing green.
His car - a humble Aston Marton - runs on biofuel:
“The bioethanol from our supplier happens to be made from wine. I think our wine is surplus English wine. It is wonderful. It is not corked” - Sir Michael Peat, the Prince’s private secretary
Any more down to earth and the prince would be buried alive…

Is everything alright Mr Anorak?
It’s very unusual for you not to have updated for so long.

As Yampster sussed in the Forums, young Mr Anorak is doing the Booze run to France (It’s thirsty work this Moderating lark). He will be back later today. [duncanr]

Good idea as have some old stuff in the cupboard, so will do the same today.

Before I go along with any of those ideas, I shall purchase a bottle and try it, if I don’t return in due course…..

The wine is only declared surplus due to CAP quotas. Once it is produced it can be converted to ethanol by simple distillation. Once you have produced your first batch the ethanol itself can be used to fuel the process

Prince Charles runs his Aston Martin on wine that is ’surplus’ only because
“The EU sets strict limits on wine production and any excess is not allowed to be sold on the market. One way it is redistributed is for use through environmental fuel”
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/theroyalfamily/2223663/Prince-Charles’s-Aston-Martin-is-wine-powered.html
So how much energy/carbon/global warming went into producing this ’surplus’ wine in the first place ?

‘I think our wine is surplus English wine.’

Fancy having excess wine to burn! Hopefully it won’t be too long before we can go to the service station and fill up cheaply.

If it was Royal Duchy wine the best thing to do with it would be ‘burn it!’

Wonder if the exhaust has a nice smell of glue wine like they service in the ski fields restaurants? If so, this is good for the environment and could make for some happy folks out there.
July 2nd, 2008 at 3:26 pm
well, he might give us some wine
July 2nd, 2008 at 2:30 pm
…why?

I love Prince Charles.
I’ve always done, all my life.
A great man, idealist, doing all he can for his country .
Let us respect him!

Any more down to earth and the prince would be buried alive…
I wish someone would - he’d be far more use as fertiliser….

Much as I love Aston Martins, (have owned several in my dreams) running them on wine is a tad ott.
The Duchy could make a donation of wine to Anorak Towers?
