Princess Diana’s Engagement Blouse And Wedding Knickers For Sale
PRINCESS Diana’s “engagement blouse” is to go under the hammer.
Not literally, although sending shards of the fabric to all corners of the world would surely be a gesture of great spiritual meaning. For such reasons, a miniature of the Diana wedding dress made from the greater wedding dress material is to also up for sale. More miniatures may be in the offing.
The Telegraph says the engagement blouse is being put up for sale by Elizabeth Emanuel, who tells us:
“It is sad, especially for me, but I don’t know what to do with them … There comes a point where it is so expensive to store.”
Yes, what with property prices so high in London, the space occupied by a blouse can go for as much £3million to £4million.

anyone want to buy a genuine Emanual outfit that I bought in Harrods Designer outfit sale, just after Diana’s wedding?
I thought it would go up in value because of the Princess connection, but I haven’t been able to sell it yet, Sadly, after 25 years, it is now too small for me to wear, or rather, I am no longer small enough to wear it!

must be relevant to the number of leg-holes - as in “pair of pants/trousers” - obviously doesn’t apply to arms as it doesn’t work with bras or other upper garments….

Always thought Diana’s engagement outfit the best and should be kept on show somewhere where her other clothes are kept. Queen Victoria’s knickers were sold recently, and they did raise a bit of cash.

We’re trying to break new ground here, to boldly go where no market has gone before, to throw off the shackles of outdated concepts and invest in things we all really care about.
Like our friends, our families*, our limited edition replicas of George Bush’s sucker.
We need to define ourself very carefully, and Diana’s knickers are, as the big Y has pointed out, stretched to buggery, so we can all fit in….

So, the Credit Crunch spares no-one, not even the designer who made Di’s wedding dress.
I see it as another index of economic wellbeing, almost as good as the High End Girlfriend Index, HEGI, and probably a bit better than the High End Stripper Index, HESI.
