Seven-Year-Old Girl Takes Knife To School

armed-child.jpgA PLAYGROUND spat: “A seven-year-old girl brought a knife in to her school after a playground spat, a head teacher said.”

Staff at Broom Leys Primary School in Coalville, Leicestershire, discovered the knife after another pupil showed it to two children during a morning break.

Head-teacher Robert Prior said the knife was similar to a steak knife.

He said: “There was no way she intended to threaten another child. They had, as little girls do, an argument over friends.”

In a statement, he added: “After investigating the incident, I am satisfied that the knife was not brought into school with any malicious intent, nor was it used to physically threaten any child.

Just little girls being little girls, then…

Some kid brought an old hand grenade into the school that my two attended a couple of years ago.

He showed it to his mates, who freaked out. He then did likewise and chucked it down a drain.

Plod called.Bomb squad called. Press arrived en masse. Pupils shepherded to safety in other half of school.School management try to stop press talking to pupils. Sixth Years sell camera phone photos to press via text message. Fun for all. All clear given when WWI ‘dud’ recovered from drain. Offending pupil suspended.

It was never that much fun when I was at school.
