Health And Safety Inspector Falls From Ladder
HEADLINE of the Day, in the Tabloid Telegraph: “Health and safety inspector falls off ladder.”
A health and safety inspector had to be rescued by firefighters after he fell from a ladder while he was carrying out a risk assessment.
Before we fail this under “Beyond Parody”, let’s investigate further.
Peter Timberlake, a spokesman for Friends Provident, who were employing the inspector to investigate their buildings at Clyst St Mary, near Exeter, tells us:
“He suffered cuts and bruises but otherwise was unharmed and we wish him well in his recovery. We will be carrying out a full assessment of how this happened.”
Pass the ladder…

“I was at work, and I was given the wrong type of ladder…actually I was surprised at being given one at all, as I am a neurosurgeon.”
I loathe the real advertisement the above is based on. He was given a ladder that didn’t have another bloke at the bottom, holding it. So he shouldn’t have gone up it in the first place. Clown.

The guy was actually coming down a set of semi permanent ladders on the outside of a building and a supporting wooden strut broke. He wasn’t a H&S inspector but a member of the facilities management team looking for leaks in the roof. Give the guy a break.

where was his Hi-Vis jacket then…? or hard hat…? you would think that a facilities management team would have managed it a little better than that….?
I fully expect that he’s gathered the strength to put a claim in though…..
