China: Man Ruptures Lover’s Ear With Kiss
“THE inner ear is connected to the mouth through a tube, whose chief function is to equalize the pressure between the two,” says Li, a doctor at Zhuhai Second People’s Hospital quoted by the China Daily.
“The kiss reduced pressure in the mouth, pulled the eardrum out and caused the breakdown of the ear.”
The more encouraging news is that her hearing is expected to return to normal after about two months.
The China Daily concludes:
“While kissing is normally very safe, doctors advise people to proceed with caution.”
And practice, practice, practice…

This happened to a 44 yr old woman I know in my apartment building .
She was given this powerful kiss ( on purpose ) by one of her old boyfriends
at a christmas party last year . Her drum has since healed .
A similar incident took place in the US :
a mother got kissed on her ear by her 4 yr old daughter with such force it actually displaced the tiny bones( ossicles ) in her middle ear. Rather unusual for a child to do–albeit with innocence .
