Babysitter Shot By 4-Year-Old Charge
NATHAN Beavers and “several other teenagers” are babysitting “several young children” in a mobile home in Jackson. Ohio.
A shot rings out.
Witnesses told police the 4-year-old retrieved the shotgun from a bedroom closet and shot Beavers. Police said the child was angry because Beavers accidentally stepped on his foot.
An ambulance arrives. Beavers is sent to hospital.
The boy has not been charged, and Hamas have yet to get in touch…

It was probably a 20 bore Remington. A good gun for kids, not much stopping power on a human at any sort of range but a good ‘Varmint’ gun to keep around the trailer in a rat infested park.

This has been happing a lot latly. We need to take action. Something like a wall around USA trailerparks could portect the thousons of inocent that happen to lik near one. Please, think of the childern. Would you want your kid walking to school inoccently past a trailer park and get hit? Mind you, I don’t want to take away their guns. I recognize their right to self defence. But it’s the people outside the parks we need to help. For the sake of the gods, will someone think of the children!

I understood it to be a shot gun too Cheryl, but even a hand gun a childs hand would be enormous

Why my thoughts, June, to myself was it really the little child. He could have picked it up but not hold it steady to aim, which might explain how he shot the teenager in the foot. However, I read it was a shotgun - a whole different ballgame than a handgun. When I was a teenager and my uncle handed me a shotgun to shoot - it is very heavy and when I pulled the trigger the kick-back on my shoulder knocked me back and left my shoulder black and blue!
I’m having a hard time swallowing the story if it was a shotgun!

Could a four year old hold the thing and pull the trigger?, it would be at quite an angle too

My first thought when I read the story when it first broke over here was the teenagers were fooling around with the gun, gun went off and one got shot and who better to blame but a 4 year old child. How would that child know to use a gun to shoot someone - television programs day and night show violence, shootings. Too many parents do not monitor what their little ones can watch on television.
Hopefully, the parents will be charged for leaving the gun out, loaded and not locked up.
