Man Digs Massive Hole In Kitchen To Catch Fish

london tube busy Man Digs Massive Hole In Kitchen To Catch FishTO China, where Li Huiyan, of Chongqing, has hires 30 villagers for six months to dig a 16-metre deep hole in his kitchen so that he can tape into a river and fish from home.

Li once fished in more conventional fashion, but the once over ground was submerged 30 years ago when the local authority bombed part of a mountain to pave a road.

Says Li:

“The river used to have so many fish, and by simply putting a net there, hundreds of fish would be caught.”

Now Li lowers a net and catches lots so fish:

“I sell the fish at a wholesale price of 24 yuan (£2.15p) per kilo, but 36 yuan (£3.20p) per kilo for retail.”

Any readers looking to be like Li should note that that underground river is a sewerage pipe and those “New Cod” are only available for a few days each month…
