I see that someone is to make an embedded documentary about Prince Harry serving in Iraq. Frankly it isn't going to score any propaganda points for the troops serving there. Far more effective, far funnier and far more defiant is the 'I'M HARRY' T-shirt campaign. Based on the simple but wildly effective notion that Kirk Douglas made immortal in Spartacus, the campaign takes the slogan 'I'm Spartacus and moves it into the modern age with I'm Spartacus, I'm Harry. We're ALL Harry now. If the insurgents can use the internet to run a PR offensive across the Middle East there's no reason why we shouldn't be using the power of the web (their web/our web) to harness support for every serving soldier in Iraq. The website is www.imharry.com, more details from imharry@btinternet.com & - the shirts are raising money for the Army Charity - the Army Benevolent Fund.
There's some smart thinking here - if we all do our bit as a decoy then not only is it dangerously funny in trying to confuse the enemy but it also highlights the relatively unnoticed continuous bravery of the serving troops and their readiness to step up the plate when the insurgents make their threats against the Prince. It's got people talking, it's picked up a lot of publicity along the way with word of the 'I'M HARRY' campaign spreading like wildfire around the internet in the last two weeks, there are www.Youtube.com entries(http://youtube.com/watch?v=6Jy3F3KBOr8) and photos of the shirt in worldwide locations being posted all over the internet.

Re: your Prince Harry Story

Nice angle, neat picture to illustrate it too. Just so you know the I'm Harry project started as a simple enough idea but has now apparently grown into an internet phenomenum. And the Army Benevolent Fund gets to benefit too.

The message is simple enough - think Spartacus and bloody minded loyalty and support, then apply that to Prince Harry. He's brave enough to want to go to Iraq despite the insurgents putting a price on his valuable head. Yet in doing so his presence brings more ever present danger to his regiment and every serving solider in Iraq. So what can we do? Lets confuse the enemy we thought.
I'm Spartacus, I'm Harry, we're ALL Harry now.
And if the insurgents are using the web to instill yet more fear why don't we use the web to generate support for everyone serving in Iraq. So we did. www.imharry.com we called it. And we have hundreds of orders from around the world - Brazil, Mexico, the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, 6 European countries and, of course the UK.
It's caught something out there - mood, zeitgeist, attitude whatever and thats helped put the spotlight back on the reality of what the soldiers are facing and whats happening in Iraq. Daily. Thats no bad thing. "
