When Al Gore Meets Jon Bon Jovi
“JON Bon Jovi has spent two hours with ex-us vice-president Al Gore, fuelling speculation he is planning to run for political office.”
So says the Mirror.
With Sean Penn trumpeting Hugo Chavez, Bono billed a Mr “G9” and Gordon Brown using the Arctic Monkeys to validate his politics, pop stars hold sway over our lives.
They are the establishment, the grandees to whom we kowtow and on whose every word we hang.
So right it is that Al Gore should consult with Jon ‘Livin’ On A Prayer’ Bon Jovi to see if he should go for it.
Unless Bon Jovi’s standing for office? But that would be one hell of a come down…

People should only be in politics if they’re qualified (and give a crap). Their personality, singing ability or popularity status is completely meaningless. These win votes, but have nothing to do with qualifications. That’s the problem in America, we vote for all the wrong things. It’s like voting for a BMW for brand recognition, but at the end of the day, it’s going to fall apart.

No, Jon shouldn’t be in politics.
I like him better as a singer/actor.
I wouldn’t see him in the same way I see him now.
Politics is a huge jump from his celeb-life.

Did you get to take a closer look at the picture of Al Gore and Jon Bon Jovi Now that is funny and able to share with family and friends. Andy H i do have to agree with you it would be so cool having a rockstar for govenour even when it’s Jon Bon Jovi he so rocks and hot at the same time now there’s a govenor that girls can droll over all the time!!!!

Al Gore thinks that it is important to take care of the planet but looking at Al’s extra kilos does he take care of himself ?

If Jon does run, good, he loves his home state and has been very vocal politically. He also has help numerous people through his philanthropic endeavors, but as far as him spending 2 hours meeting with Al Gore how does that say he is going to run. They have been close personal friends for years and Jon has campaigned for Al and the Democratic party.
On a personal note I think New Jersey could do far worse then to have someone that cares for the state, the people and the environment as much as Jon Bon Jovi. If he does half as much for the state as he has with own career, which includes heading 2 corporations Bon Jovi and the Philly Soul, it seems like the Garden State would be in good hand.
