A 16 Year-Old Girl, Her 36-Year-Old Lover And Mum And Dad
A QUESTION in the Daily Mail: “Your 16-year-old daughter falls for a divorcee of 36 and wants him to move in. Would you let him?”
When Alison Garcia, 16, announced that she was leaving home to be with her 36-year-old lover, her parents could have been forgiven for hitting the roof.
Instead, Sheila and Paul Garcia did something most other parents would find unthinkable.
The lover is a divorced double-glazing fitter and father-of-one called Craig Wright.
Did mum and dad:
a) Sleep with the boyfriend?
b) Move out of their home when the boyfriend moved in?
c) Post the boyfriend to Mali in a box?
d) Tell the police their daughter was 15 and get him arrested?
e) Let him move in and sleep with their daughter?
Answer after the jump…
Answer: e)
Says Alison: “I’m not stupid,” she says stubbornly. “I know to the outside world such a huge age difference must seem weird and unnatural.
“My mum keeps saying it’s a ridiculous phase and I’ll grow out of it, but I won’t.
“My dad is much more laid-back. He takes the view that it’s my life and I have to do what I want.
“After all, I’m 16 and can make up my own mind. He recognises that I’m not a child any more, but my mum doesn’t.”

I* wouldn”t let him move in, the age gap is too wide no matter how grown up the daughter thinks she is. I would not forbid her to see him, make sure she
is using contraception and hope the relationship fizzles out . I think her Dad is too liberal .

Think its better to know what is going on, and also at that age parental approval can be the death of any fad….

Say no. The 16 yr old will probably move out and there is nothing that can be done about it either. A headstrong child will have to learn what life is all about. When she is good and done, she will want to move back home. Always happens and the parents have to pick up the bits, if there are any.

Groom both parents and child to be double glazing sales persons. Everything under one sheet…of glass.

‘cover that daughter in chocolate syrup and make her do a nasty on the White House lawn.’
comes to mind.

I also thought I was a “smart-arsed-know-it-all-parents-don’t-give-me-the-freedom-I-want” 16 year old!
I say give her the rope she needs, when it snaps she’ll be running back to mummy and daddy! And hopefully they’ll tan her rear end for her just for not listening in the first place!!

Regarding the recent article about the 36 year old wooing the 16 year old, i hope that her parents have him checked out sooner, rather than later! Not only does he have at least 4 children by at least 3 women, there is also a big doubt as to whether he is in fact divorced!!! He is also known by numerous people by another name. Her parents are trying to do their best by her but, this sorry story is going to end in heartache, for both the parents and daughter alike.
