The Needle Points To Bondi Beach
PHEW! IT’S so hot that it hotter than Bondi Beach.
So says the Star, which sticks a melting Lucy Pinder on the sands and a needle in Australia’s famous city beach.
The reading are that it’s 34FF in the shade over here and that on Bondi you need to be careful where you trade, what with all the used needles…

Well, during the busy summer season Bondi Beach is combed regularly, that’s true…. And this gets rid of bigger pieces of trash which some people seem content to leave behind…
BUT the problem is that the mechanical rake in fact beaks up some pieces of plastic and styrofoam so that the once pure sand is increasingly speckled with little bits of plastic… which will remain there for a long time….
So while useful, the rake is not the entire solution to the mess on Bondi Beac, and my in fact be worsening it.

As a long term local of Bondi Beach, I can happily state that this report is wrong!
Bondi Beach is combed every single day and not a piece of rubbish graces that beach … until the backpackers arrive.
