Jon Gaunt Wants Russell Brand Attacked For Free Speech

russell-brand-gun Jon Gaunt Wants Russell Brand Attacked For Free SpeechTHE SUN’S campaign to have every celebrity locked up - and so reduce the expense of observing them – moves on.

Having failed to have Peaches Geldof, Amy Winehouse, Naomi Campbell and Paul Burrell jailed (The Mirror goes for Jeremy Clarkson), the paper’s Jon Gaunt wants Russell Brand to be arrested for making a hoax call to the police.

There has been a series of sexual assaults in Northampton, where Brand is appearing on stage:

He borrows an audience member’s phone and rings the police hotline to tell them he’s actually seen the offender….

How on earth could you think taking the mickey out of rape could be funny?

For your information, women are scared to go out on the streets of Northampton.

Gaunt is against street crime. Says he: “The streets are more dangerous then they have ever been”. As he says:

Brand, you should go back to Northampton, meet the girls who were attacked, and apologise to them while their relatives “illuminate your dark behaviours” . . . preferably with a baseball bat.

But better then advocating violence as a remedy to free speech, Gaunt wants the Celebrity Police Force to act:

How about these plods arresting Brand for wasting police time. Or would that be too much like real policing?

The CPS would be pleased to meet Brand at any time, although preferably in London, or West Yorkshire

Well yes it was a silly think to do and he should be sent to bed early as punishment but Gaunt is a self-opinionated pompous arse with no sense of humour and Russell is the classic bad boy we all love, so…….

  2. coolandcalm Says:

Please ignore my silly previous post. Russell was a pratt and I shouldn’t have made light of it.

The problem isn’t the sheer idiocy of the hoax, it is the shamless and cynical self promotion, and the lazyness of the joke.

Russell shouldn’t have done it - I think a fine would be a good idea.

I do love him but I know the emergency services get enough crank calls and I remember the poor woman in Glasgow who was being followed by a perv and she made emergency calls and didn’t get through and was murdered.

I adored Russell Brand until I read this. What a Knob-Head if he really really did this.

Are we sure that he actually did this? He wasn’t pretending to have got through?

  6. Mark J Daniels Says:

I’ve never enjoyed Russell Brand’s sense of humour and if this was a genuine hoax call (is that an oxymoron?) and not just a stage stunt he should be punished for it. As for why the Mirror is going after Jeremy Clarkson, maybe they’re just jealous that they can’t get him to write for them … :-p

  7. Eddy Says:

He’s an immature man who made a mistake. He didn’t realise it would go this far and no-one at the gig stood up against what he was doing and said it’s wrong. If he gets arrested then so should everybody there.

    M and A

Hope you never need the emergency services, as for your immature man who made a mistake? a mistake dialling 999? He didn’t realise? ah well , some mothers do have em, and his definitely did

  8. Richard Brennan Says:

It’s on a par with shouting fire in a crowded place. Russell wasted the time of a police hotline drivelling on down the phone. Gaunt isn’t trying to stop him expressing his beliefs, he’d simply like Russell to let the police try and catch the sex offender/s and go back to reading out the paper on stage.

The Anorak makes it sound like Gaunt wants to stop Russell Brand from making certain wisecracks, instead of wasting police time.

Having said that, I don’t want Russell beaten up. He’s not the classic “bad boy we love”. He’s not funny or original enough for that.
