Madeleine McCann: Belgian Paedos, Foreign Nannies And Joke Shops Jokes
MADDIE WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann, Kate McCann and Gerry McCann
GLASGOW DAILY RECORD: “She’s Not Maddie.. She’s My Daughter”
If the Hollies sang Madeleine…
The father of a blonde girl captured on CCTV in Brussels on August 4 came forward to reveal that the youngster was his daughter.
The blonde ice-cream-eating girl with the North African woman?
Belgian federal prosecutor’s office spokeswoman Lieve Pellens says: “Obviously for him, it was very easy recognising the girl accompanied by a woman in a veil. It’s her nanny, a young Moroccan woman who is qualified to look after children and works in a care centre.”
But there are paedos in Belgium right?
Pellens suggested Belgians were more sensitive to the case because of the country’s horrific recent record, in particular the case of paedophile and child killer Marc Dutroux. He tortured and sexually abused six girls aged between 8 and 19 in 1995 and 1996. He murdered two of them.
Fred West lived with his wife Rosemary at…
DAILY EXPRESS: “GIRL SEEN OUTSIDE BANK NOT MADELEINE”
It’s “fresh blow”.
DAILY MAIL: “Fresh heartache for McCanns as police say Belgian sighting is NOT Madeleine”
It’s a “desperate blow”
THE SUN: “McCanns: Our search goes on”
It’s not Maddie with the foreign-looking woman.
Spokesman Clarence Mitchell added: “Kate and Gerry would also like to thank this girl’s parents for going to police.”
But maybe next time he could hire a blonde nanny and not scare us so?
DAILY MIRROR: “Crack USA team hired by McCanns”
Kate and Gerry McCann have hired a team of top US investigators to spearhead the hunt for their missing daughter Madeleine. The top secret outfit includes former CIA, FBI and American special forces personnel.
Let’s bomb Belgium, Portugal and Morocco. The axis of Maddie…
THE GUARDIAN: “Edinburgh festival rapid review: Jim Bowen”
He’s probably been telling them for 40 years, but Bowen’s mildewed gags still haven’t lost all their charm. “My mother was a good sport,” he explains at the outset, “and my father was the crew of the Ark Royal.” Ba-doosh! Well I laughed, anyway, and so did all the silver-haired groupies in the front row. It is much too easy to mock this old style of comedy and overlook the genuine ingenuity and skill that it still involves - neither of which are exactly universal in contemporary standup. Besides, the foibles of Yorkshiremen and mothers-in-law now feel positively fresh compared with jokes about Madeleine McCann and Josef Fritzl.
Bingo!
Edinburgh festival: Is low-level sexism enterta
On arrival at this year’s Edinburgh festival, I steeled myself for plenty of sexist comments and jokes about rape, paedophilia, Elisabeth Fritzl and Madeleine McCann. I wasn’t disappointed.
Can you spot Madeleine, perhaps in a joke, or a joke shop?

Coincidence?
http://byfiles.storage.live.com/y1pfqcybDk_o2Q4DvZSmSqS1356F0c6Bgkw0vJ7M27by-iRY8BjKvc7LLD_AIgzG4P2_XjRINX3zpI
Take a look at the still image from the recent Belgium CCTV footage on the left … then note the similar resemblance to the woman in the black dress taken from the Morocco ’sighting’ last year …
Same person?
If it is … the implications could be interesting. Same woman and blond haired child sighted in Morocco and in Belgium recently?
Just coincidence … right?

In fairness, repeating what someone says doesn’t necessarily leave you clear of a libel charge - you could just be repeating a libel which is another charge in it’s own right - but Sammy Davis has a point in that the newspapers are being exceedingly cautious - the UK papers that is - so are unlikely to want to find themselves paying out any more than they have to!
***
Carmen, in fairness too: I’m still trying to grasp the finesses of UK libel laws and their interpretation. IMO a quote between reading marks with the complete mention of the person who is quoted CANNOT be considered libel when repeated. After all there’s a limit to what should be doubted and what can be believed. So, when e.g. a newspapers writes that “so-and-so” said “so-and-so”, we should be allowed to believe that and at any rate not be considered to be libelous when repeating such statement …
Correct me [again] when I’m wrong

Duncan
I don’t live near Julie, since my home town is in the Karoo, and I don’t know where Bounty Hunter lives. There are many real hunters in the Karoo this time of the year because the farmers around here have switched to game farming (kudu, springbuck, red hartebeest etc) because they lost too many sheep & goats to stock thieves. The hunters often come from America or other parts of the world looking for trophies.
I have three dogs, but luckily they stay dry when I take them out because the Karoo is semi-desert!

Yes, South Africa it is! We are struggling with a weakening Rand (our money unit), escalating crime and electricity shortages, but otherwise everything is OK!!

Hi, Duncan why ever so quiet?? How about some prosecution?
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Well if you really want to know.
First, two dogs were insistent that I take them round the park or they would piss on the kitchen floor
Second, it’s pissing down with rain here. So me and the dogs had to dry ourselves off when we came back from our walk in the park. Now, it was easy to dry me off, but have you ever tried to catch two wet dogs, chasing them round the room with a towel trying to catch them before they shake themselves and spray muddy water in all directions !
Thirdly, may have been all this water spraying around, but once I’d wrestled the dogs to the ground and rubbed them down with a bath towel, I had this uncontrollable urge to visit the bathroom myself before I ended up pissing on the floor.
No matter. I see in my absence that Châtelaine has sought to provide the important information that was lacking in your original post!
Completely off topic. I know. - but how are things in your part of the world. Are you anywhere near Julie, or Bounty Hunter?

Chenier. Our posts crossed again… Maman is well, despite a broken rib, thank you, and will appreciate your wishes. If worse comes to worse, I’d prefer playing Scrabble at all times
Have a nice evening.

Hi Carmen
Nice to hear from you. All’s well this side. How’re you doing?
August 13th, 2008 at 9:44 pm
Evening, Carmen
I was only trying to help SD to source a quote.
Seems to me that whenever a newspaper has a name to a quote - in this case Inspector Jose Roque and not something vague as “a source close to” - it should be acceptable as [most] probably being truly what someone said and therefor not libelous.
August 13th, 2008 at 9:43 pm
Good evening Chatelaine; I am about to go and watch some ancient video or another with the offspring.
It’s either that or play Scrabble, and she has been honing her Scrabble skills in New York; it would be very embarrassing if I lost.
I accept that, naturally, she knows more about implanting electrodes in the brain than I do, but Scrabble is another kettle of sardines.
I hope Maman is well? Please give her my best wishes…

I would think that the Mirror would be made to pay damages too, like the Express had to, if they printed untruths. The press has been burnt recently and are cautious about printing any wild untruth IMO

The evidence is in the police dossier
—————–
But an article in the Mirror is not the police dossier; it’s an article written by a journalist which may, or may not, be accurate.
Given the claims that the Mirror has made in the past, now wholly refuted, I would not care to rely on it to substantiate anything…

Good evening, Duncan, Indeed, Sammy quotes Mirror:
“Inspector Jose Roque also accused frantic Kate and Gerry of faking tears in the first few hours of the hunt.
He said: “After the search I noticed an unusual situation. The parents were kneeling in their bedroom and they were crying. However, I did not see any tears despite the fact they were making sounds identical to crying.”

I’m pretty sure that Heaven encourages it.
The truth, that is.
Of course, if you wish to make a claim that a statement is truthful then you do need to provide evidence.
And no, Google on x, y or z isn’t evidence…

If you want to read about the “crocodile tears” Google on “Secrets of the Madeleine McCann Dossier” at mirror.co.uk
August 13th, 2008 at 8:33 pm
The police officer assigned to be with the Drs McCann right after Madeleine disappeared noted that the Drs sat together and made crying noises ….. but shed no tears. When my dog went missing I cried snot and tears….. To me their “crocodile tears” is a dead give-away. A “knowledge of death” give-away. I wonder who will prosecute me for saying this…. But, after all, there is freedom of speech, or is there??
Watch this space … disappear…..
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Can you provide a link to support the claim you make in the first sentence of this post?
Otherwise, how are folk to know how much weight to attach to your comment?
You could, heaven forbid, be talking absolute bollocks!
It is in your own interests to provide such a link, if you want to be taken seriously! [Duncanr]

If they want someone to find a body the dogs are a far better bet than humans…
__________
In most cases I would say you are correct, Chenier, but when I saw the ‘line up’ of who is getting involved heaven only knows what they have at their disposal to use. I watched a special the other week of a special force going back to Vietnam looking for a soldier’s body missing all these years, the mother insisted and pressured the Defense Department all these many years she wanted him found and brought back come hell or high water as she wanted closure. A special team went in and their search was filmed. No dogs were used at all and the search team walked, dug up areas, they seem to know how to do a that kind of a search found his school ring, tags, etc. buried in the ground and brought them home.

Good heavens, have a bad night MrsT? Sometimes when I’ve lost sleep I wake up acting like real bitch too.
The McCanns are desperate to get their child back I can’t fault them for turning to any country pleading for help. Why the surprise? Didn’t CM say the other day they were asking for US help but I think someone mentioned the Secret Service, which didn’t quite make sense to me. Our respective law enforcement agencies have worked together before and I’m quite certain the UK will be briefing them. You have to remember, at least I remember, some people on here swear up and down you seldom have children taken over there or as many missing as is stated in statistics. Unfortunately, we do have many children taken and missing over here and our FBI always get involved in a missing child case when a possible kidnapping or crossing over state lines is involved. They have a special team/force for just that. Right now anything is worth the try to find out where their daughter is or her remains.
August 13th, 2008 at 12:11 pm
I will not believe that this sighting is not Madeleine McCann until there are photographs of this child along with this so called Nanny and the man who claims to be the childs father and also her mother. How can this be ok’ on just word of mouth. The guard from the Bank should also see these people with the child. The clothes that this little girl had on were oversized, surely any mother would not do this. This is very fishy to me. All I can say to the jokers on this board is that someday they may suffer in some crisis. How would they like people to humiliate them? There is a precious little girl missing, the are also lots of little children missing, finding Madeleine could result in finding those other children. These pedeophile rings have to be stopped, they are dangerous to our society and sick in the head.
mand A
A DNA test will confirm the childs bloodline, her picture does not have to plastered all over the Press - there is such a thing as invasion of privacy, remember these parents do not have anything to prove - thats up to the people who ‘lost’ Madeleine, not the rest of the world. There is also no proof of abduction by paedophiles or anyone else

I’m wondering about the sightning, why does an normal Belgium girl with an normal Belgium family speaks in englisch to her nanny? And what about the Ice-cream man, he said that the girl he saw had a mark in her eye!?
Did the belgium police saw the girl and the nanny ? Or did the they only saw the father and just talked to him ?
That dont make sence to me
