Fixing It For Big Brother’s Rex Newmark
“BIG BROTHER FIXES IT FOR REX,” announces the Daily Star on its front page. Above the headline is a picture of a grinning person holding aloft a medal.
Might this be Rex, and might he be holding his Jim’ll Fix It-style gong, albeit awarded by Big Bother? Did BB fix it for Rex to go on live telly for the entire summer and engage in some competitive sarcasm?
Back in the days when Jimmy Savile fixed it, fix its were things like playing cricket with Lord Geoffrey Boycott, eating lunch on a roller coaster and playing the spoons with the Joe Brown ensemble.
Now all the missives to BB beg that the letter writer be made famous – any kind of fame will do, so long as it features at least one Daily Star cover and an appearance at Faces nightclub in Essex…
