Air Rage Attacks Up In Time For 2012 Games

air-rage1 Air Rage Attacks Up In Time For 2012 Games “AIR RAGE ATTACKS BY BINGE BRITONS SOARING.”

Good to know that even topped up on duty free, the Mail’s headline writers can craft a decent pun.

Of course the pun isn’t the only element that makes this story newsworthy. Really, it is not.

The 2012 Drug Olympics are looming, and Anorak has been scouting for events that are quintessentially British.

And what better way to get the games moving then by staging an event on the way to the Olympic Suburb?

And we have an early entrant at the starting gate.

The Mail illustrates the story with a shot of Naomi Campbell, long of limb and quick of temper, she’s a shoo-in for any on-plane festivities, either as agonist or pundit.

What is Campbell if not Colin Jackson in braids?

  1. 1 chenier Says:

    ‘braids’?

    She doesn’t do braids.

    Braids are not cool.

    Apart from on guys.

Whose mothers probably don’t know they are out…

Something that constsntly onfounds me on reading the same headlines over and over and over again…….

Why is alcohol still served on aircraft? Do we need alcohol on tap in the air? champagne on take-off? a bottle of wine with our meal? brandy after?
Do the airlines really need the extra few bob from on board drinks?

And as for getting pissed before take-off and the airlines still accommodating them…. come on.
If they can ban smoking I’m sure they can ban alcohol….

Rant over. Back to work! ;)

  3. 3 Lone Pigeon Says:

Hang on hang hang on. What is wrong with serving alcohol on airplanes? Are you saying because of the minority it should be banned for the majority who know how to have a drink without losing the plot?

  4. 4 June Says:

Perhaps ban the already legless though?

    LP…
if the staff / crew can’t monitor them properly then yes. I’ve been flying all my life (and thats a long time ;) ) and it used to be contained. Now it isn’t Still a minority but still too many incidents.
I was on a Virgin flight a couple of years ago when a fight kicked off among a group of youngsters. Very scary. The thought of what could happen and the fact that there is no escape from the idiots is frightening.
Which comes first? alcohol or safety?

I’ve been flying all my life and have never seen one incident or heard one incident of bad behaviour onboard a plane. How was the fight dealt with?

  7. 7 coolandcalm Says:

LP.. the two main fighters were ‘controlled’ by cabin crew eventually and put in seats at the very rear. Then they were just allowed oof as per normal. many passengers were steaming……..
I used to be cabin crew many years ago (we were called Air Hostesses then) and it was mostly old drunks sticking their hands up your skirt…. now its all real aggro.

  8. 8 Lone Pigeon Says:

well I never seen any and I think it’s a bit extreme to ban the enjoyment for the majority. People know nowadays that they face a stern punishment for air rage or anything to do with getting into trouble on a plane. Banning drinking is not the way.

Wrong, it is the only way. I am with C&C on this one and have witnessed unpleasant behaviour on aircraft due to excessive alcohol consumption.

The trouble is that the reduced air pressure on aircraft leads to a lower oxygen concentration in the blood which magnifies the deleterious effects of alcohol.

It’s not the ony way at all
