Jade Goody Victim Of Sick Indian Big Brother Stunt?
JADE Goody has cervical cancer. Or as the Economic Times of India puts it: “Jade Goody detected with cancer.”
If there was one area of Jady Goody’s life yet to be exposed it was her cervix. But now that gap in her CV has been plugged.
Goody The Hoody is appearing on the Indian version of Big Brother. She is called into the Dairy Room and given the news.
One may wonder how she agreed to go on show when she has been ill enough to undergo tests for possible cancer, and why the enws was given to her on the telly?
Goody cries and tells the Poppadoms, Nans and other housemates that she has received some “bad news” and has to leave the house and the country.
Poor Jade.
She is either the victim of a cruel stunt, revenge enacted by Shilpa Shetty’s Indian fan-base, or she really is poorly…

The first time Jack Tweedy hears of this, he will probably be asking what a cervix is and where in the body is it! He will need assuarances whether or not he may be at risk of cervical cancer.
Has anyone explained to him in a lay man’s language what an ‘emvryo’ is? and why men have nipples?

I am appalled at this ridiculous piece of writing, just be glad I’m not a cancer sufferer like so many of my family members are right now, it’s disgusting that the writer uses the term cancer so lightly, and with so much emphasis on Jade using it to plug her cv. You should be ashamed of yourself, and lets hope that one day when someone you know or, YOU are diagnosed with this dreadful disease that kills one in three people, that you think back at your harsh words and hang your pathetic head in shame.

It’s a good job they got her out of the house quickly so no one else caught it off her!

Jade Goody has made many mistakes in her life but she is only human, what a way for her to hear this news, it is terrible. I wish her and her family all the luck in the world and hope that this is only a scare.Nobody deserves that. I feel for her, Ihave family members whom have died from this and i wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy, Kind regards Jade, all our love the smith family

I am astounded that one or two people here have said ’she deserves this’?!!!!!
Something has been missed in every post here - this girl is the mother of 2 small boys who probably adore her beyond comprehension! OK, she rose to fame by being dim-witted and a little vulgar but she has children who need her!!!
Best wishes Jade - I hope you make a speedy recovery and that fate has some nice surprises in store for your little ones xxx

loads of people die after or during treatment for anurisms and things found in the ‘health check’ mri scans that you pay for.
if the thing hadn’t been found in the first place, most of them would have lived to a natural old age and never known they’d had one.
if, say, 1 in 5 people with a condition die naturally, but 2 in 5 die while being treated for the condition, then the tests are actually costing lives.

The Offspring came across an advert today in a British paper offering whole body screening to private patients; this sort of thing is common in the States where tests and treatments of all kinds are heavily advertised, but much rarer here.
it’s not actually done here is it. certainly not routinely.
‘The proponents tout it as a means of detecting serious conditions early; the problem is, as I have noted, that the radiation from such scans is much, much higher than the bog standard x-rays people are accustomed to. That is a recognised cause of cancers.
And yes, medics argue about such things….’
well yes. i’m just wondering what any of this has got to do with a false positive pap smear which is how it all started.
i think in america, as in what you describe, that’s one extreme, i think here we have the opposite problem, serious conditions being missed/not diagnosed or wronglydiagnosed and hence the wrong treatment or none at all, or treatment that is too late or insufficient and so on and so forth.

perhaps she didn’t think it was cancer and the biopsy was done routinely ?

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Sky News…. The news was broken to the 27-year-old when she spoke to her consultant in the UK by telephone but the conversation was not filmed.
After being told the results of a recent biopsy, she burst into tears and ran into the house in hysterics, shouting: “I have cancer.”

Sam,
‘As Nosey has noted, nothing in life comes for free. There is no such thing as a risk free treatment for anything; it is always a question of evaluating the risks.’
well in my case it was a matter of have no cervix or eventually die i think.
‘Hence the ongoing arguments in the medical profession.
An obvious example would be whole body scanning, touted as a means of catching diseases at an early stage, but likely to result in cancers as a result of the high doses of radiation needed…’
but who does that ? is that normal practise ? or do you think it might become one along the lines of a yearly scan to check one hasn’t got cancer, or what ? i am totally unaware of these on going arguments in the medical proffession about this ?

Known side effects of cancer treatment include … cancer. It is not often discussed because when faced with treating a known disease that is a priority regardless of the potential side effects.
ah, thanks. but surely they test again before commencing treatment ? especially a radical one ?
‘I’m pleased that you’re OK, must be a big worry for you though.’
oh it was ages ago. i think i was lucky, its often a symptomless disease.

If you are informed of a positive from a pap smear, just ignore it and carry on - in keeping with your great wisdom on the topic.

how can that happen ?
August 19th, 2008 at 3:31 pm
Sam
Untreated cancer may indeed lead to the patient’s death.
Unfortunately, treating that patient for a non-existent cancer can also lead to that patient’s death.
That’s the bit that tends not to be mentioned on the invite for the screening process, and why there are still huge arguments about it….

Clearly is something is reported as negative when there are changes that can be a very big problem.
yes, untreated it leads to death.
‘Unfortunately a false positive can be almost as big a problem since there are physical and mental costs to bear for the patient.’
i don’t know how it works here, how long people have to wait for results of the second test or what ? in my case it was a week and i was operated on about a week after that. then for a year or two three monthly smear test, then six monthly and then every year. cervical cancer is the big c if it’s not detected, it spreads and kills ,which is why there was such a scandal many years ago, women died because tests were no read properly.

That’s the big downside to testing; there are still violent arguments about whether, for example, mammograms for breast cancer testing is ‘a good thing’…

As sam has pointed out, it’s a routine test, and there will be a number of false positives, as well as very early stage changes detected.
Not fun, but very probably not the big C…
it can be if its not detected in time, i don’t think false positives are the problem but more false negatives. usually they test again after a false positive to make sure, but a false negative not, and that can be unfortunate.
it worried me when i came to the uk as there was a lot of reports in the press at the time of pap smears not being read properly, as false negatives, it was quite a scandal if anyone remembers.

Couldn’t of happened to a nicer person.
Having cancer doesn’t take away the fact that she is a media hungry whore who rose from obscurity via that famous finishing school - The Big Brother House.
Jade Goody is a good example of all that has gone wrong in entertainment in the 21st century. She showed the world that you don’t have to be talented to become famous, you just have to be prepared to do anything.
As a result our tv channels are back to back reality tv shows, because they are cheap.
I would like to see her sink into obscurity but if that were to happen then some other scum would soon float up to take her place.
