The infamous holiday flat where Madeleine McCann vanished has been put up for sale for £250,000.
Can a flat be “infamous”? It was the flat wot dunnit?
Potential buyers could begin viewing the flat from as early as next week, raising the possibility of voyeurs keen to see where the three-year-old disappeared looking round.

Flat 5A at the Ocean Club holiday complex has two bedrooms, measures 90 metres squared and is 20 years old. It is 500 metres from the beach.
Compact. Bijou. And handy for an abduction, allegedly… Does Our Maddie make it more or less valuable?
According to the newspaper 24 Horas, the price of the property is ’substantially higher than others with similar characteristics’ also on sale in the resort.
Another apartment just one minute from the beach is currently on sale for less than half the price at £103,000 (127,500 Euros).

Now Liverpuddlian Ruth McCann - who is no relation to Madeleine - is said to be keen to sell and the property is on the market for £250,000. The retired teacher has handed over the keys to a local estate agent and potential buyers are expected to start viewing next week, according to the Portuguese newspaper 24 Horas.
What of the property?
Madeleine was sleeping in one of the bedrooms with her younger twin siblings Sean and Amelie when she went missing on May 3 last year.

Bountyhunter! The BBC were sat poised to slag her from hell to burn - and they were absolutely fucking stunned! They were stumped for something to say - like they hadn’t prepare to praise her! I was hysterical!
But boy did I cry every time she time she opened her mouth. I loved the humour, the tone, the delivery - ooooh! Wet tissues everywhere - the dog thinks I’m bonkers!

The Statements are bollocks regarding the time-lines, the checks and who was where at what particular time and for what reason.
The only consistencies appear to be that Madeleine would not go willingly with a stranger and would not fuck off out on her own - oh! - and that she was bright, intelligent and chatty etc.- like they had all been briefed on this!
How the fuck these Tapastwats knew about M’s personality and behaviour is beyond me - as she was shut away in a creche for most of the time, fed at the flat and seldom in their sight.
So they could only have learned these details from the Parents - and what they saw the other Clannies say - like Frilly Philly - on the telly.
She gave us a great account of M’s personality in a measured but highly believable way - inbetween telling us about K-woman going berserk and screaming at the PJ etc etc etc.
So it would be great if Professor Pam Pending would stop sniping at the posts of other people who are trying to make sense of this chaotic load of crap - and actually brought something of her own thoughts to the thread - or alternatively gave us some constructively critical posts.
Fucking hell! - Is it any fucking wonder that it’s so easy to get a degree in English these days - compared to twenty years ago?

Dianne Webster’s Statement
The statement starts on May the 4rth 2007 at 8.50 PM. Given that the witness doesn’t speak or write Portuguese, an interpreter, Natalia. C is required.
Dianne Webster is heard as a witness. She belongs to the group who traveled to Portugal with Madeleine’s parents. She is Fiona’s mother. She came with Fiona, her husband and her two grand-children. She has known the parents of the missing girl for about 4 years, she met them through her daughter. Since then, they have become friends.
She declares that the McCann couple has three children, a couple of twins aged 2, and Madeleine, almost 4. She thinks that it was her daughter who gave them the idea of coming to Portugal. She believes her daughter knew Portugal.
She arrived in Portugal on the 28 th of April of this year, around 12.20/ 12.30, coming from Leicestsh. to Faro, and finally to Praia Da Luz. From Faro to the OCEAN CLUB, they travelled in a shuttle from the airport. After having checked in, she was placed in apartment G5H with her family (her daughter, her son-in-law, her two grand-children).
About their habits, the witness gives the information that she only spent part of the afternoons with her family, and not even every day. Sometimes she read, she went shopping, or did other activities. During mornings she only had one lunch with her family, on the wednesday, because it was raining. The other days, she spent her morning at the tennis.
Yesterday, she went to the beach with her grand-children, her son-in-law, and her daughter. They arrived there around 3.45 PM and left at 6.15 PM, to go to the tennis where she stayed until 7 PM.Then, the witness went to her apartment with her grand-children, and, 10 minutes later, her son-in-law joined them there. She gave a bath to the children with the help of her son-in-law.
They left the appartement around 8.45 PM, and, in the company of her son-in-law, and her daughter, she went to the “TAPAS” restaurant, where they joined the rest of the group. At dinner, the couple McCann was among the friends. Following a question by us, the witness says that since her daughter had an interphone which allowed her to hear if the children screamed or cried, nobody ever went to check on them where they were. Still she says that either Kate or Gerald went several times, and regularly, as well as other couples, to check if the children were OK. During one of those checkings, Kate came back to the restaurant scared and anxious, even in a state of panic, saying that Madeleine had disappeared.
Straight away, they organised groups to search her, either in the appartment, as they thought she might have hidden herself there, or outside. Yet, despite the staff from the OCEAN CLUB helping them, the search was to no avail.
The witness doesn’t know Madeleine well, since she lives very far from the McCanns, and she can’t give an accurate description of Madeleine’s personality. Nevertheless, she reports that Madeleine was quiet, but active and energetic, and well behaved. She is a beautiful, attractive child.
During the holidays, she didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary that could be connected to the investigation.
She has no more information to provide. After reading the report with the interpreter who explains it to her, she persists, and signs.

Batman - Just in case BF’s gone to bed now - I agree with Brandonflours about the fact that farmers or land-owners have the capacity to conceal bodies hither and thither - not to mention the fact that they have reason to have bone-grinding equipment and seemingly good reasons to carry objects that suburbanites would find it impossible to explain away.

Why oh why if all of these statements are there, clearly written and translated, then why have the discrepancies not been brought up by the police. If someone says that they checked on the kids and then someone else gives an entirely different account of it, then why oh why are the pj and the UK police not questioning them all for the real and the whole truth. I am truly of the opinion that there are at least 4 maybe more of the McLot who know exactly what went on that night. I am not sure whether the abduction took place (my personal opinion is that it did not) but they all seem to be hiding at least some of the truth. Was it Abe Lincoln who said “No man has a good enough memory to make a successful liar” gotta be the truth!

IMO it is possible that KM and MO went at the same time and for some reason later changed this to MO only, but not coherent in the various statements IMO possibly IMO possibly IMO

Brandon, the only ones to get upset are the ones with something to hide (probably behind tinted glasses) Your observations are perfectly correct in the eye of the beholder. I, personally would never trust anyone who wears their collar turned up - it is just something that I have always felt is an unneccessary idosyncracy. If the weather dictates that your neck is cold - wear a scarf - I do not mean that in the dead of winter turning up the collar of a coat is iffy, but you see these guys around in mid summer with the collars of their tee shirts up like wings under their ears - in my opinion - dont trust them, they have something to hide. Also ones who walk with just their thumbs in their trouser pockets - wouldnt trust them either. Building up quite a profile here - a bearded bloke wearing tinted glasses over joined up eyebrows wearing khaki shorts with just their thumbs in the pockets and a tee shirt with collar up. Shifty or what???
