Madeleine McCann: UK Cops Get Their Man, Morocco And Anorak PI
MADDIE WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann, Kate McCann and Gerry McCann
SUNDAY PEOPLE: “McCanns: UK cops would have found our Maddie”
The British cops always their man, or a man. It might not be the right man, but they always get a man – well, nearly always.
Madeleine McCann might have been found by now if she had vanished in Britain, her parents insist. Kate and Gerry said cops here have more experience of tracing kidnap victims than Portuguese police.
Here’s what “heart expert” Gerry said:
“I don’t have any doubt it would have been different if Madeleine had disappeared in a British city.”
Are their tapas bars in Leicester?
GLASGOW SUNDAY MAIL: “Cops Failed Us - Mccanns Slam Maddie Hunt Detectives”
Says Gerry McCann:
“Morocco is a good example of what went wrong with the investigation.”
Morocco, where Metodo 3 went looking for our Maddie?
“A sighting was reported at a garage near Marrakech and it was said there were cameras at the petrol pump. Inspectors concluded there weren’t. There were in the shop. When police returned the tape was recorded over.”
That a fact?
MAIL ON SUNDAY: “I’ll fund the McCanns until they find Maddie, vows double-glazing tycoon Kennedy”
Double-glazing magnate Brian Kennedy, 48, said he would use his estimated £450million fortune to back the couple as long as Madeleine remained missing.
Anorak is pleased to announce the foundation of Anorak PI – Call us on 0800 CASH COW – NOW!
Madeleine’s Fund is already paying investigators Metodo 3, Control Risks, Oakley International and an unnamed fourth company.
Have they found here? No. No. And no. Call us…

September 7th, 2008 at 9:08 am
i dont know there is something fishy about this story
there is a load of questions to be asked
why didn’t they allow a baby sitter?
if she is kidnapped why did the kidnapper only choose her?
and if the news has kept fresh in everyones mind why isnt she found?
dosent she atleast know the look of her parents if she watches the news in morocco if she is dead

Morning Rasputin.
I see you’re still fighting the good fight! Keep it up. I’ve not been around for a few days so have missed much. or not.
September 7th, 2008 at 9:09 am
Incidentally Doris, it does not say anywhere that there is no evidence of abduction, indeed the Evora judgement states it as one of the possibilities under investigation, please refrain from making unfounded statements, thank you, facts at all times.
Mids and Admin
The Portuguese have shelved the case as there is no evidence of any crime committed - abduction is a crime is it not?
September 7th, 2008 at 9:10 am
There is no fight CC, the antis have no case, hasn’t the AG told them so, their squirming is a thing to behold.
September 7th, 2008 at 9:20 am
Mids and Admin… I think they said there was no evidence of a crime being committed by any of the three arguidos.
I’ll find the statement by the AG unless Rasputin has it?
September 7th, 2008 at 9:24 am
here you are…… (Associated Press) )
“In an order issued today, … the investigation into the disappearance of the minor Madeleine McCann has been halted because no evidence was discovered of any crime committed by the suspects,”

PETERMAC, are you around? Good morning.
Some, notably Rasputing and Coolandcalm keep pushing: ”
“In an order issued today, … the investigation into the disappearance of the minor Madeleine McCann has been halted because no evidence was discovered of any crime committed by the suspects,”
Now, if I remember correctly you mentioned some time ago that this phrase is often succeeded by the text “we are presently not looking at other suspects”. Correct?
September 7th, 2008 at 9:35 am
Morning Chatelaine… the whole AG statement is online……. the addition that PeterMac mentioned is often used in UK but was not used in this case.
September 7th, 2008 at 9:35 am
MARIE N, are you around? Bonjour.
I’m still lingering a bit on the very strange “Rachael Mampilly sa belle-mère” … Belle-mère in French is one word with 2 meanings: mother-in-law AND STEPMOTHER. Just a wild guess: has Rachael been married to a Mr. O’Brien or a Mr. Tanner before marrying Oldfield?

As I understood it the phrase is a euphemism for “they did it but we cannot proof it”.
