4Chan Turns In Ali Saad For Making Threats To Massacre Students

4CHAN has  turned the FBI onto a Michigan-based member named Ali Saad. He wrote about shooting more people at his community college than Virginia Tech mass murderer Seung-Hui Cho. He’d use an AK 47. He’d film it and livestream his murders on Stickam.

Saad claims his comments on the /b/ board were a joke.

The FBI are not famed for their humour and raided his home in Dearborn. Last November they seized his computers, in which they found… child porn. He now faces felony charges for posting the threats and for downloading child porn.

There is child porn on 4Chan; and childish porn. The sticky fingers of adolescence does stupid things to shock and amuse . But the next part of the story is odd: the FBI says Saad researched past shootings like that at Columbine and Virginia Tech.

Can 4Chan Save Julian Assange And Avenge The Wikileaks Founder’s Arrest?

HAVE no fear Wikileaks, the chaps from 4chan are here to support free speech and truth (and once Julian Assange has decided what that is, he’ll let you know) by distributing denial-of-service attacks against Paypal , Mastercard and Swiss bank PostFinance. All three have declined to process Wikileaks cash. They are all capitalist enterprises, and Assange, an arch capitalist, will surely be sympathetic to the market forces that influence their decisions.

On 4chan, “Coldblood” vows that any organ “bowing down to government pressure” is a legitimate target for their payback.

4chan’s Operation Payback Is A Bitch For ACS:Law, BT And You

‘OPERATION Payback Is a Bitch’ is 4chan’s /b/ board targeting of ACS:Law. ACS: Law go after so-called web pirates downloading music, videos and games.

4chan members, who seem to know a lot about downloading stuff, launched a DDoS attack on ACS: Law’s website. And it went down.

You see, if you’re thought to have downloaded a film illegally, ACS: Law will send you a letter demanding payment or else.

One woman called Claire got a letter from ACS: Law demanding £495 for allegedly downloading Chubby Chasers.

On some websites you can buy such films for as little as $11 – which pound-for-pound is very reasonable, we’re told.

The fine is heavy. And if you’ve been accused of downloading illegal porn would you want to go to court?

So the 4chan users set about bringing down ACS:Law by gaining access to their servers and downloading lots of files – including the names, credit card details and addresses of over 5,000 Sky Broadband customers. Sky Broadband and all ISPs are bound by law to make such data available. In this case, Sky’s customers were accused of illegally downloading porn films.

ACS:Law “appears to compile lists of alleged infringers tracked by IP addresses, then appeals for a court order to the relevant internet service provider to hand over more information about the customer before taking the accused to court.”

Sky released a statement, having noticed that ACS:Law’s systems were not all that secure:

“Following recent events, we have suspended all co-operation with ACS:Law with immediate effect. This suspension will remain in place until ACS:Law demonstrates adequate measures to protect the security of personal information.”

ACS:Law’s boss is Andrew Crossley. The Register got him on the phone:

“It was only down for a few hours. I have far more concern over the fact of my train turning up 10 minutes late or having to queue for a coffee than them wasting my time with this sort of rubbish.”

4chan users were listening. This was an incentive to crank up the attack.

How 4chan Became The World’s Best Tabloid Of The Internet Age

THANKS to its expose of Mary Bale – the Coventry legend filmed tossing Lola the cat into bi – 4Chan is now on the mainstream media’s agenda. 4chan is now being cited in its pursuit of Little Red Riding Hood seen tossing puppies into a river.

4chan members on the /b/ board not only found out Bale’s name but where she lived, worked and even her phone number. This was impressive stuff. The old media might well be worried.

It should be. Take campaigns. The old media loves a campaign. They are just about the only thing that differentiates one news organ from another. When the readers are encouraged to get together to prove a point it is seen as noble and worthwhile. The Daily Mail wants you to ban wheelie bins. The Sun wants you to get the pig Jade Goody out of Big Brother. One paper, the East London Advertiser, once ran a campaign against another paper called East End Life.

The same thing on the web is known as trolling. People the old media bill as “activists” become trolls on the web – weird, narrow-minded creatures who push their agenda through your letter box. They are not like, say, party political canvassers.

And, then, 4chan keeps its trolls housed in the /b/ board.

The difference between the old media and 4chan, is that the site’s campaigns are proven to work. You can see the results of the group effort. You want Justin Bieber’s name to be linked to syphilis on search engines? Done. You want the Coventry cat woman named? Done. You want YouTube videos to feature porn? Done.

The site’s editor-at-large is New Yorker Christopher Poole. Says he of the site’s users:

“They like to get a reaction but they like to do it from the comfort of their chair at home in the basement. For the most part 4channers are more or less decent people, they’re not going to go too crazy.”
