Amy Winehouse was brilliant.  When she died age 27 she left behind too little music.

AMY is the documentary to her short life.

This trailer features the line:

“I don’t think I’m going to be at all famous. I don’t think I could handle it. I think I would go mad”.

Only a few things have made me shed a tear – her death was one of them…

In the 1950s Amy Winehouse appeared on the album cover Billy Devroe’s Broad Minded?

IN the 1950s, Billy Devroe & The Devilaires sang and recorded bawdy songs. Albums were called suggestively An Assortment of Party Naughties, Censored, She Gives Food Stamps and Broad Minded.

Anorak has noticed that the female accompaniment on the cover of Broad Minded looks not a lot unlike the late and much missed star Amy Winehouse?

Mitch Winehouse wears Amy Winehouse as a waistcoat at the Brits

AT the Brits Awards 2013, Mitch Winehouse arrived wearing a waistcoat bearing a picture of his daughter Amy Winehouse (quote:I used to walk into the Hawley Arms, grab a bag of mince and cook meatballs.“)

Mitch is the cabbie called to give evidence to the House of Commons Committee’s debate on the cocaine trade. On Mitch’s website, the blurb for his album tells readers: “Mitch joins a list of illustrious artists from Elton John to Matt Monro who have performed Tony’s songs.” He’s written a hook called Amy, My Daughter. That’s not to be confused with his Channel 4 documentary My Daughter Amy. Mitch, who told us that his daughter’s new boob job “looks great”. You might have caught him on the chatshow Mitch Winehouse’s Showbiz Rant.  So here’s Mitch on the Brits red carpet. Amy was nominated for her posthumous album Lioness: Hidden Treasures.

What killed Amy Winehouse? Death inquest to be reheard

killed Amy Winehouse? The swine who led her towards hard drugs? The inquest said the singer died from “misadventure”. Winehouse had voluntarily consumed alcohol and risked the consequences.

Only, it looks like we’re going to have another go at getting a legal verdict. The inquest into Winehouse’s death was overseen by one Suzanne Greenaway. Ms Greenaway, as she is billed, is married to Andrew Reid. He gave her the job as assistant deputy coroner in London back 2009, when he was coroner for Inner North London. You need five years experience in the Law Society or five years’ of experience as a qualified medical practitioner get that job. Greenaway, who has worked as nurse and a lawyer in Australia, had neither. So. Why did her husband give his under-qualified wife the job? Don’t all rush to answer.

Amy Winehouse’s Camden no-rehab home is for sale – photos

WANT to buy the Camden Town house Amy Winehouse died in? The Sun says it;s yours for £2.7m. The Sun also says it’s not a house. It’s a “HOUSE SHRINE”.

Back in 2011, Gordon Smart told Sun readers that the house would become the “HQ” of the Amy Winehouse rehab charity.

Rehab never worked for Winehouse. It’s hard to think a rehab centre in her old home would have been what she would have wanted. But she had sung a song about rehab, so the Sun had its scoop.

A source told us: “…if they [the Winehouse family] sold they think it could attract the wrong kind of buyer as it was where Amy passed away.”

Amy Winehouse’s celebrity dad Mitch bares his pain to the Sun – Gaultier laughs

IN “INSULT TO MY AMY”, the Sun says Amy Winehouse’s father Mitch Winehouse is in a state of “fury”. Why? And why not “Our Amy” – is Winehouse not what the tabloids call a “national treasure”?

Well, at Paris fashion week, Jean-Paul Gaultier adopted Wino’s trademark beehive and kohl look, cleaned it up and stuck it on beautiful, lithesome models.

Gordon Smart reports:

The ex-cabbie accused Gaultier of cashing in on Amy’s death with a “bad taste” fashion show. Mitch said the singer’s family was devastated by pictures of catwalk models smoking and wearing the singer’s trademark beehive hairdos and heavy eyeliner.

Devastated?

Wednesday’s show at Paris Fashion Week came just two days after the half-year anniversary of the Back To Black star’s death — and Mitch said it portrayed Amy at her worst.

Amy Winehouse: How The Tabloids Killed Her By Suicide, Drugs, Blake, Reg Traviss, Booze And Lies

AMY Winehouse has died. She was not killed by an overdose of drugs. Right at the start, when her body was found, police said no drugs were found at her Camden home. Still, the newspapers declared otherwise:

The sordid details of Amy Winehouse’s final hours emerged today, with claims that she bought a cocktail of narcotics including cocaine, ecstasy and ketamineDaily Mail, July 25, 2011

One friend partying with her over the last weeks said: “It was an ecstasy overdose. She could do cocaine until the cows come home. But this was obviously a dodgy pill. That was backed up by MTV producer Danny Panthaki, who claimed: “My friend’s boyfriend is a policeman, and he’s the one who found Amy Winehouse dead. Overdosed on ecstasy” – Daily Mirror, July 24, 2011

“TORMENTED Amy Winehouse died yesterday at 27 after downing a massive cocktail of drugs, The People can reveal. The singer was seen buying narcotics, believed to include cocaine, heroin, ecstasy and the horse tranquilliser ketamine, from a dealer shortly after 10.30pm on Friday –  Dean Rousewell The People, July 24, 2011

Rousewell then added:

But last night pals claimed she had died earlier that morning after indulging in a final drugs binge during a night out with pals.

Pals grassing on pals. Some pals, eh, to get a reformed drugs addict off their face on drugs. Do we know who these pals are? No.

Amy Winehouse And Tony Bennett’s Duet Appears Online – Have A Listen

HAHAHA! Wasn’t it funny when a young woman died after battling with the pain that once made great tunes ended up eating her whole! Really funny! She wasn’t even in her thirties! WHAT A RIOT! AMY WINEHOUSE WAS MENTALLY ILL! HA HA HA!

Of course, it really isn’t funny when a young talented woman dies, but if it wasn’t for our collective gallows humour, we’d probably spend all day crying.

We may still have our chance to weep like emo-babies because it’s pretty obvious that Amy Winehouse’s record label will be eyeing up a load of half-assed demos and looking at making a pretty penny on them. That said, not all posthumous releases are going to be lame as a short clip of the leaked Amy Winehouse duet with Tony Bennett has appeared online.

The Amy Winehouse Foundation Has Got It Wrong

AMY Winehouse’s Camden home is to become the new headquarters for a rehab drive in her name…maybe, says the Sun.

Anorak is hard pressed to think of a worse advert for rehab than Winehouse? Maybe Peter Doherty? Or Lindsay Lohan? Or anyone else who has passed through the revolving doors of any  number of reassuringly expensive rehab centres and re-remerged to get of their faces on a new drug or drink.
