AS her husband Syrian president Bashar Assad bombed his countrymen in Homs, his wife Asma – that subject of Vogue’s praise – spent £10,000 shopping for stuff on the web. The Assad’s used secret email accounts.
According to 3,000 emails allegedly intercepted by rebels between June 2011 and February 6 2012 and now released for the world’s horror, Asma and Assad bought:
* Chandeliers, tables and silver candlesticks from Paris.
* Instructed an aide to order a fondue set from Amazon.
* He downloaded I’m Sexy and I Know It by LMFAO and Right Said Fred’s Don’t Talk Just Kiss on iTunes.
* He forwarded a link to a YouTube clip re-enacting the assault on Homs with the help of toy guns and biscuits.
* She asked a mate to send her a DVD of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2.
* She ordered a £6,257 table.
