Bernard L. Madoff the jailed Wall Street super-swindler was was beaten up in jail over a money row, says The Wall Street Journal.

The Journal, which has three leads on the story, said the 71-year old Madoff was treated for a broken nose, fractured ribs and cuts to his head and face.

FBI Scuppers Plot To Break Bernie Madoff Free From Jail

bmBERNIE Madoff is rumoured to have been the inspiration for an alleged plot to bust him out of Butner Federal Prison in North Carolina.

The plan involved five prisoners kneeling down by a wall. On their backs would kneel four more prisoners. On their backs three prisoners. And two more on their backs. Then Bernie would climb to the top and vault the wall.

Bernie’s absconding would create a vacancy to be filled by someone from the second tier who would duly ascend to the top.

Bernie Madoff Offers Victims Apology And Opportunity

US financier Bernard Madoff has been jailed after pleading guilty to all 11 charges surrounding an estimated $50bn (£35bn) fraud.

The Wall Street Journal reports Madoff”s words:

“I am actually grateful for this opportunity to publicly comment about my crimes, for which I am deeply sorry and ashamed,” he told U.S. District Judge Denny Chin.

“As the years went by, I realized my risk, and this day would inevitably come,” he said in a steady voice. “I cannot adequately express how sorry I am for my crimes.”

BERNIE Madoff, the man who used his own greed to tap into the greed of his investors, who confessed to stealing $50 billion, resides under house arrest in his $7 million Upper East Side penthouse.

Prosecutors argue that Madoff should have his bail revoked and be sent to jail because – get this – he might not be all that honest and trying to break the law by secreting monies away.
