Villas-Boas’s Spurs owe a debt of thanks to Sir Bobby Robson

Andre Villas Boas Bobby Robson

THE tabloid media love to give Harry Redknapp an overly large share of the credit for improvements at Tottenham Hotspur. They should look to Bobby Robson’s role. It was the former England manager who inspired Tottenham Hotspur’s curent manager, Andre Villas-Boas, 35. He tell the Sunday Times:

In Portugal, every kid dreams about becoming a footballer. I was no exception. My first memories of football are of the club my family supported, my local team — FC Porto. I’ve been going to see them from the age of four. Then, when I was 17, I met Sir Bobby Robson and my life changed. At the time, he was manager of Porto and lived in my block. We got talking one day so I quizzed him about tactics and players and he invited me to come and watch the team in training.

I spent a lot of time with Sir Bobby. He inspired me. From then on, my dream was to manage my own team.

Paul Gascoigne’s Tribute Poem To Bobby Robson

PAUL Gascoigne has penned a poem to his former England manager Sir Bobby Robson. It’s called: “To Sir Bobby from Daft as a Brush”:

When I was 12 I met a man called Bobby,

It was in Ipswich in a lobby,

At first I seen him he just smiled with such glee,

I knew he was the man for me,

He was a great man,

Even better than Peter Pan,

He looked after me for so many years,

He was like a tree with the fruit of the pears,

I know he’s above,

And I’ll always be his son like the feathers of a dove,

He has now passed away,

But every night I say a little pray,

For the great man Sir Bobby he will be missed,

I’ve kept okay and hope not to get p****d

I will never forget you for as long as I live,

You gave me a chance,

I started to bounce,

There are no rules for loving and sharing,

But hearts beat faster when someone is caring.

Love Gazza

Away and pray… Not the worst rhyme of all time but better that Chris de Burgh who rhymed dance with romance and never played France…

Paul Gascoigne’s England Beat Germany In Geordie World Cup

7631684TO St James’ Park, where Paul Gascoigne’s England has defeated Germany 3-2.

Newcastle United fans may wonder how one day on from their team’s 6-1 thrashing by the mighty Leyton Orient the Geordie Nation can win the World Cup, now called the Bobby Robson Trophy?

It’s the kind of inconsistency that infuriates the faithful.
