The Murdoch Dynasty On The Clinton And Kennedy Dynasties

CAROLINE Kennedy fancies a go at being a politico. Hey, it must be her turn by now. And the Wall Street Journal talks of all things dynastic:

So to recap all of this change you can believe in: A Kennedy and Cuomo are competing to succeed a Clinton in New York; the skids are greased for a Biden to replace a Biden in Delaware; one Salazar might replace another in Colorado; and a Governor charged with political corruption in Illinois wants one of his cronies to succeed the President-elect. Let’s just say we’re looking forward to 2009.

Maureen Dowd Wants Mark Thatcher For Prime Minsiter

NY Times columnist Maureen O’Dowd has been watching too much TeeVee as she haps on about the Clinton-Kennedy-Bush-Clinton-Bush-Kennedys of Washington.

Although Americans still have enough British in their genes to be drawn to dynasties, W. has no doubt soured the country on scions.

Caroline Kennedy Catches A Dialogismus

SAYS Caroline Kennedy, wannabe New York Senator:

“I’m really coming into this as somebody who isn’t, you know, part of the system, who obviously, you know, stands for the values of, you know, the Democratic Party. I know how important it is to, you know, to be my own person. And, you know, and that would be obviously true with my relationship with the mayor.”–Caroline Kennedy

Hillary Clinton did it, like, totally better…

Hailing A Sedan Chair For Caroline Kennedy

BLOOMBERG columnist Albert R. Hunt “makes the case for why Basil Paterson’s son should appoint John F. Kennedy’s daughter to replace Bill Clinton’s wife in the Senate”:

[Caroline Kennedy] has all the qualities–intellectual curiosity; a friendly, at times pointed, sense of humor, and a deferential manner (she hails her own cabs)–that are the stuff of a good legislator.

She hails her own cabs. Caroline Kennedy does not appoint a designated cab hailer.

We await the happy day when Caroline Kennedy gives her all for the green movement and takes to going about in an eco-friendly sedcan chair.

Sedan for Caroline!

The Making Of America’s Political Lords

IT’S a good job America has free and fair democracy and not nepotism and ruling houses:

Rod Blagojevich’s favorite pick for his local Ilinois Senate was widely regarded to be Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr., the son of a someone or other.

In New York, Caroline Kennedy, daughter of so-and-so and niece to him and the bad driver is in the fray. If she gets the nod, she’ll take over from Hillary Clinton, wife to whatshisface.

Democrat Debacle: Palin’s Alaskan Career, Caroline Kennedy And Rod Blagojevich

THE best time for the other team to score is right after they’ve conceded. Barack Obama and the Democrats win. And then Rod Blagojevich is in the mire and a Kennedy pops up:

CAROLINE Keenndy? Ross Douthat slates her as a replacement for Hillary.

Caroline Kennedy is no doubt more prepared – in terms of her base of knowledge about national politics, her comfort with the ways of Washington, etc. – to be a United States Senator than Sarah Palin was to be Vice President. But if you consider where the two women started and stack their subsequent accomplishments against one another, Palin’s Alaskan career is roughly six times more impressive than Kennedy’s years as a high-minded Manhattan socialite and custodian of her family’s good name. That doesn’t mean that McCain was wise to pick Palin as his running mate. But if you think he wasn’t, then you should definitely hope that the Democratic Party of New York hunts a little longer through its ranks before handing a Senate seat to the editor of The Best-Loved Poems of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis.

Bill?

ANN ALTHOUSE: “Why am I getting the feeling that the mainstream media will do what it can to obliterate the connection between Rod Blagojevich and Barack Obama?”

Agreed:
