Chile Miners: Let The Media And Political Feeding Frenzy Begin
CHILE Miners: What next for the 33? Well, Blaine Mayhugh knows more than most what to expect. Eight years ago, Blaine was one of nine coal miners trapped underground in Pennsylvania. He was rescued from the Quecreek Mine after three days underground.
Says Blaine:
Mayhugh said the first year after Quecreek became a constant blur of “people expecting you to do stuff”…
“I’d tell the miners to be careful, not to be pressured, and to take time for life to get back to normal.”
“We were bombarded,” Mayhugh said. “We were hounded by the media and everybody in general. It was chaos.”
