Transfer Balls: Daniel Alves Will Join Liverpool Or Manchester United Because Barcelona Have And Have Not Told Him To Go

TRANSFER Balls: The Daily Star almost scores a full house, failing to link the fifth of England’s top five sides – that’s Arsenal – with its story that Daniel Alves is heading to the Premier League:

Neil Lustig says Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United are all interested in 31-year-old Barcelona right-back Dani Alves, whose contract with the Spanish club runs out next summer.

Screen shot 2014-10-08 at 12.07.42

So. He’s on his way, then?

But Alves’ agent and ex-wife, Dinorah Santa Ana, has claimed that the 31-year-old’s desire is to remain at Barcelona.

Big Fat Targets: Christina Briggs Lives On A Diet Of Rotten Tomatoes

Daily_Star_26_9_2014

CHRISTINA Briggs, 26, is fat. And flame-haired. She’s on benefits, too. Give her pair of NHS-supplied false breasts and a ciggie and Briggs would be the nation’s Aunt Sally with her own show on Channel 4. If she’s lucky, she could forge a career as Channel 5’s authentic face of the white working classes, like White Dee did with her stint on Celebrity Big Brother.

The Star leads with Briggs, the “25-stone SPONGER”.

Big Brother: ‘Lesbian ‘ Kisser White Dee Becomes The Birmingham Resident’

Daily_Star_8_9_2014

WHEN the Daily Star declares “White Dee In BB 3-Way Romp”, you don’t know whether to take a peek or look away.

Deirdre Kelly — “White Dee” — is the break-out star of Benefits Street, TV’s fly-in-the-biscuit tin look at the welfare state through the eyes of UKIP recruiters for whom benefits are the disease not the symptom of poverty, poor education and unemployment.

Dee was the Street’s sedatory matriach and protector of the weak. She’s moved from James Turner Street, Birmingham, to a Z-list holding bay in leafy Elstree, where she’s having a Big Brother threesome.

Given that the Star is owned by Richard Desmond, who also publishes hardcore porn, the “romp” holds much promise for sticky-fingered readers.

Manchester United Balls: Louis Van Gaal Signed Arturo Vidal For £45m

THE Daily Star says Arturo Vidal is “all smiles despite missing out on Manchester United move”. The inference is that the Chilean star is putting a brave face on things having missed playing for Manchester United. Although he never did say he wanted to leave Juventus. And United manager Louis Van Gaal never did say he wanted the player.

In another of today’s Manchester United stories, the Star tells its readers:

THE ONES THAT GOT AWAY: Why Man Utd and Chelsea missed out on Juventus duo Vidal and Pogba

Well, Manchester United didn’t get Vidal becasue…

…Juve were demanding £40m for the 27-year-old midfielder, a fee United refused to meet.

Starsport understands opening negotiations have begun towards a deal that would see United pay out a whopping club record £45m fee.

Barelona “star” Alex Song is soon called an “outcast”.

Louis Van Gaal will sign Alex Song from Barcelona if United fail in their move for Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal. New reports claim Louis Van Gaal will move for the outcast former Arsenal star if Vidal fails to pass an upcoming medical.

Gypsies On Benefits And Proud: The Daily Star Flogs Channel 5’s Benefits Street For ‘Sponging’ Foreigners

PPS: No one has ever died of a spider bite in the UK.

When Joey Barton met Michael Barrymore – what really happened

TABLOID Spin of The Week award goes to the Daily Star, which spotted that Michael Barrymore had tweeted QPR bad boy Joey Barton, recently in the news for behaving badly on the pitch at Manchester City. The Daily Star thundered:

Daily Star led with non-Muslim Katie Price and Peter Andre 32 times in 2011

HOW many times did the Daily Star feature Muslims on its front page in 2011? Dawn Neesom, the paper’s editor, was at the Leveson Inquiry. Robert Jay QC wondered if the Daily Star has published any positive Muslim stories. Does the paper that once had a brain-freeze and supported the anti-Islam EDL and warned against Mulsim only toilets, have an agenda? Said Neesom:

“Yes there was the story of the recent riots in the summer and the very very brave man who spoke out to the Islamic community about his son’s death. It was a very moving story.”

Only Emma Wall’s story of three Muslims killed  in Birmingham riots  makes not one mention of the word “Muslim”. Only this front-page headline did, explicitly: “Muslim thugs aged just 12 in knife attack on Brit schoolboy.”

The Daily Star was not alone in this. The Mail said there were “five Muslim boys and one white girl”. The Sun forgot the white girl totally:

FIVE Muslim schoolboys threatened to kill a classmate on Facebook — because he posted comments supporting BRITISH troop

Jeremy Clarkson, the EDL and a liberal anti-racist Daily Star

JEREMY Clarkson is in a “NEW RACE ROW” says the Daily Star, the paper that until recently supported the English Defence League and warned us of Muslim only toilets in Rochdale. Has Top Gear presenter Clarkson been not racist enough?

GOBBY Jeremy Clarkson stormed into another race row last night after making fun of drowned Chinese cockle pickers.

Is that racist of just offensive? John Ward adds:

And his latest outburst came after the Daily Star Sunday discovered he had posed for a snap with the leader of the racist English Defence League.

Is that the same EDL the Daily Star said 99% of its readers would pick at the ballot box?

The 51-year-old was slammed after joking about dead Chinese immigrants in his regular newspaper column. He tastelessly compared synchronised swimmers to the 21 cockle pickers who were killed in rising tides in Morecambe Bay, Lancashire, in 2004.

Why Has The Daily Star Stopped Supporting The English Defence League?

WHAT’S occurring at the Daily Star and its attitude to the English Defence League? Back in February the Star reported that the EDL was to become a political party. This apparent news was announced with photos of white faces carrying English flags. In one corner of the Star’s front page was a Muslim carrying a placard that said British soldiers should rot in hell. Readers were told.

“In the Daily Star phone poll yesterday, 98% of readers said they agreed with the EDL’s policies.”

That’s not too shabby – only Saddam Hussein ever got 100% of the popular vote. Of course, the Star failed to say how many people actually took part in the paper’s phone vote. It might only be a handful? And 98% may well be as good as it gets. As it told us in October 2010:

“…yesterday’s Daily Star poll found 98% of readers fear that Britain is becoming a Muslim state.”

A Muslim state with with its Muslim toilets, we’d wager.

But then the Star went one better:

We asked in yesterday’s voteline if you would back the EDL and 99% of you said you would.”

Another Madeleine McCann Spreads Fear In The Algarve: Daily Star Spreads Fear

MADELEINE McCann: The Daily Star’s Jonathan Corke says the Algarve is just waiting for another Maddie to happen. And only CCTV can prevent it:

BRITISH children on holiday in Portugal’s Algarve are still “wide open” to another Madeleine McCann-style abduction because authorities refuse to install CCTV.

She vanished in 2007. There have been no similar vanishing since. Why the fear now? And why only British kids?

Madeleine’s parents Kate and Gerry have long believed a camera network in the region may have helped prevent her disappearance or helped in the search.

Radiant Kate Middleton Is Skeletal: Daily Express Undermines Daily Star Expert

KATE Middleton needs “CAKE”, declares the Daily Star.

The Star calls upon an “expert” in looking at photos of Kate Middleton and work out how thin she is. The guru is called Laura Williams, “a dieting expert who has appeared on Channel 5’s Vanessa Show”.

Williams tells the Star, owned by Richard Desmond, that Kate looks “stressed and drawn at the moment”, adding:

“She is under tremendous scrutiny and the attention could well be getting to her.”
